Which Was Your Favorite Season (and why?)

I think mine was season 10, because we finally got to see Clark become Superman.

Mine was season ten as well, I loved seeing Clark finally become Superman! I loved the finale, period!

You are so right. Season 3 was a great one for the development of Lex, and we got to see some of his backstory as a child. The development of Lex Luthor as a character is something Smallville did better than any other show or movie to date, I think. Theirs will always be the definitive Lex Luthor for me.


One of my all-time favorite episodes was in season 4. 'Onyx' the one in which Lex is split into two people. Of course it was great: Steven DeKnight wrote it!

Season 10 and season 2 were good, my least favorite was season 9 but my favorite? hmmm hard to say

It's a tossup between 3 and 4.

I really enjoyed Alicia and what she brought to the show and the crystals/end of the school storylines that were included.
Season 4 has imo, one of the best premieres and also brought Lois into the show. "Crusade" is still in my books one of the best SV episodes and say what you want about Lois but Erica had me hooked as soon as she came on the show. "Commencement" is my favorite finale.

Season 9. I felt it was the most consistant of all the seasons. Zod made a great villain for that season. I also feel that their wasn't one bad episode in that season even though some of them were lame they didn't come off as terrible. I also feel this was Clark's strongest season as a character and the finale was great as well. I also liked Vala too. ;D

I remember seeing Zod in the second Princess Diaries movies, I can't get over he played a love interest to Anne Hathaway and then played Zod

I hate that they kind of erased that in season 8. Which is one of the reasons why it's my least favorite season.

I met her too ... at Metropolis. Another celebrity that I don't think I talked to. I might have said hello. She was talking with another celebrity about her glasses and I didn't have anything in mind to say to her, so I didn't try to converse with her. But MY favorite Lois was there as she usually is -- Noel Neill.

I just remembered something. I think I bought a book about her life full of photos. I think I had her and her manager autograph it for me. I wonder where I put it? The manager was always there looking after her, making sure she didn't fall. They looked like an older married couple.

I think I went to the Superman celebration 3 times (at least twice) -- once to meet John Schneider and once for Michael Rosenbaum. I think that the time I met Michael, I also met Mark Waid. I didn't know who he was at the time but I shared ideas I had for alternate versions of Superman and explanations for his powers. I told him how I had written DC about changes needed to keep Superman vital and that, at that point, DC hired John Byrne to re-define Superman so my hopes for having part in a Superman make-over ended then. Mark asked if he could write down and use some of my ideas. I said I would love him being able to use anything we talked about. All I knew before talking to him was that a man in line with me had gone on and on about how great a writer he is before the man got out of line for a couple minutes. He came back and said he had seen Mark Waid in the crowd and gotten his autograph so he wouldn't stand around to meet with anyone else. I told Mark how much the man had said he admired him. That was the conversation opener. When I got home and looked up who Mark Waid is, I was shocked to find that he had done the first character redefinition for Superman since Byrne. I was so shocked that someone like him had had such a dynamic chat with me and was really quite interested and excited by what I had to say to him.

I also talked with the young actor that played the young Clark Kent in the latest Superman movie. It hadn't come out at that time so he wasn't used to signing autographs.

The autograph sessions were changed after the last time I went. It used to be first come, first in line. They changed it so tickets were distributed the day before ... so out of town people who came in just for one day of the festival weren't likely to get a ticket. The event is pretty poorly organized ... in my opinion. The little Supergirl in my avatar was from the year after the last Superman Celebration I attended.
