Hey everyone! Long time, no chat, and all that. Its late right now and I'll have to come back tomorrow or something, to download current events, catch up with everyone's activities. BUT I do have a question: Anyone live in the Burbank, CA area? I ask, because my "We Are Angels" peep Aaron Garcia is looking for some folks for some small parts, playing blood-sucking demons. He needs to know if anyone is interested before Friday. Filming is planned from noon - 4pm. Don't know if the filming is Friday - or over the weekend and he just needs to know before that day to be able to plan for stuff. If anyone is interested, let me know!

Exciting life! LOL More like: general boring-ness interspersed with stretches of frenetic insanity. Not a huge whole lot going on right now. The webseries festival in Marseille, France is over, and everyone is mostly getting back into normal routine. Ivan took the opportunity to stay an extra week in France with his girlfriend Kim, have a bit of holiday. He's more than earned it! I think its the first real break he's had in months. But when he returns home, I'll probably be called back in to continue helping him with his newest venture, a feature-length film that's a passion project. You guys wanna see the trailer for "After"? Finally got released publicly. This is the one I got to be a part of, there on set during the filming. Enjoy!! wat.tv/p/6fd19At the end of the month I'll be a volunteer at the Atlanta WebFest, I decided to drive up and be a part of the event, seeing things from the inside. Then I can use what I learn to help with the Vancouver WebFest in May - right now I'm helping with the art (thru Frostbite) and I'm sure sharing some hands-on experience with operations will come in handy. I'll have to miss the Premiere of Grimm because it airs on that same Friday! Bummer. Also going on right now: an IndieGoGo campaign for the newest member of the Frostbite family - the horror/fantasy "616". If anyone is interested in checking it out (and maybe even pitching in a few bucks? ;D ) - the link is here: igg.me/at/616series/x/1858191 And I was asked to take up running point on the social media accounts; the other gals are nice but not consistent or proactive with the communications. It's very weird, being the voice behind the series accounts. Like the Wizard behind the curtain. I noticed the Divine account's followers seemed to have lost touch with us, so I've been singling out individuals and dropping in on their tweets. Surprise! Divine is watching you. And....this is WAY too early to start getting excited over, but one of my new tweeps who is a tv/features writer in LA is in NYC right now, pitching a screenplay to Marvel. Its only the "initial meeting" stage, but if things go well and moves on to a formal pitch presentation-stage, then I'll be doing the art. OMG! Doing art for a Marvel Studios movie. That's just...wow. Plus, ANOTHER LA writer/producer tweep who I connected to (also thru one of the industry hashtag chats) has a project....and what started with tweets about the weather in California ended up with an offer to join their movie set. Still in the early planning phase, but they intend to film on Jekyll Island (Georgia) and that's right up the road from me, more or less. So. Interesting times ahead. BTW: enjoyed the SPN premiere. Loved the burning wings in the title card. Gorgeous graphics!!!

I have been working from sun up to sun down tackling the drafts that chill me when the temperature drops to 30 degrees. I tried last year but I was stumped. I studied articles on-line and pondered what I could be missing and the answer came to me. When the replacement windows were installed, the original wood frames developed hairline cracks that I never noticed. I was so frustrated, but I have now fixed that problem. It was very time-consuming. My daughter has come over and watched each episode of Supernatural with me. We both laugh at some stuff that I would not dare post in the threads because I know some people are sensitive. She is a Cas fan too but she thinks Dean is the most gorgeous man she has ever seen. My grandson's girlfriend lives one mile from me so he pops up at my house whenever they have plans. That way, I do get to chat with him. His paternal grandmother and I went to one of his basketball games recently and that was fun. The only downside is his father got us there two hours before the start of his game. And he wonders why we do not want to ride with him. I have gotten back into the groove of reading books, but I need to catch up on some of the shows now. TTYL

I walked to a drug store to get a flu shot. I am surprised at how warm it is today. A sunny 64o made the walk very pleasant.

I go to my cardiologist tomorrow to get the results of my last echocardiogram and find out if/when he wants me to have an angiogram. I went to a new doctor for help with my diabetes. It seems to be out of control with high glucose readings. He put me on insulin but it doesn't seem to be helping. Wish me luck. I'm not happy with these developments.

I do wish you luck. I hope the insulin dosage can be calibrated to bring your levels to where they should be. And I hope your other tests reveal good results.

AA, Glad to hear you got a flu shot, I got mine earlier this year, I have to get them, I can't take any chances.
SoCal, I hope the tests go well and you get good results but remember if you don't think the doctor is doing a good job do some research and find one you like. Don't let a bad doctor make you sick.

November, thanks for the advice.
I have just changed a doctor recently. I wasn't happy with the family practice guy trying and failing to manage my diabetes. Mys sister (an R.N.) found me and endocrinologist who specializes in diabetes. I saw him last week. I'm now on insulin and currently trying to find the proper dosage to get my glucose levels back down to normal.
Off to see my cardiologist now and get some more answers......

I hope everyone enjoyed the extended weekend. My daughter and I are still refusing to shop on Thanksgiving day, but we did go to an outlet mall on Friday. We left home around 7:30 a.m. and everyone was very calm and respectful in the stores. I wanted to get some pants for my boys from Saks 5th Avenue and I was pleasantly surprised that they were having a buy one, get one free sale for exactly what I wanted. That made my day. After that, we went to a very popular mall that has nice things and there was nowhere to park. Then I had a brainstorm. I told my daughter to pull into the valet parking for the casino that is next to the mall. $5.00 and no hassle. People were circling the lots for an hour trying to find a spot. I started watching season 2 of Scandal and realized how good it is. Then I backtracked and watched S1. I am now at S2, Ep 10. I never gave this show a chance because the title caused me to think it was about people cheating on their spouses or something. It is an exciting show about a very talented female "fixer" who has ties to the Whitehouse, and I am enjoying it very much. I will watch The Walking Dead tonight, but I have put everything else on hold while I continue to watch Scandal, which is currently my 3rd favorite show.

I have been house-bound for awhile now and the urge to watch episode 2.1 kept creeping upon me even though I have several shows that I need to watch. I finally gave in and popped the disc in. I absolutely love this episode of Supernatural and the final scene between John and Dean is a real tear-jerker. I love that and I love Sammy's scene when he dropped the coffee and the cup stood straight up while the lid spun towards us.
I am missing some movies that I want to see. I have $100 in movie gift cards from Christmas, but it is too cold for me to venture outside just to go to a theatre. My daughter called me this morning and said she was on the subway above-ground platform and it was so cold, her fingers were tingling. She learned the trains were running behind schedule and left the station to return to her car. She is fortunate she had the option to drive to work.

Happy Humpday! WOW I am so psyched right now I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight. Or tomorrow, or maybe all the way until April! I booked my flight this afternoon, so I'll be off to Hollyweb - Apr. 4 - 7, in LA. The main screenings will be at Raleigh Studios, where Castle, Boston Legal, Ugly Betty and Private Practice filmed, and right next door to Paramount. SO COOL! And the Awards Ceremony/Red Carpet will be at the Avalon, where Rolling Stone has its Grammy parties. I was on the fence, until a) apparently Jason had already made plans for me to be there, helping Jeff ("Super Knocked Up" series) with the actor/creator interview sessions for the live companion talk series "Super Geeked Up"....and b) my concerns over hotel expense were put to rest when the awesome Jonathan Robbins from "Clutch" and "Asset" invited me to join his merry crew! They've rented a cottage in the Hollywood Hills, so it's going to be like one giant webseries family sleepover, LOL! I am so very blessed and fortunate to have such friends and amazing people in my life. The additional deciding factor was that I have some film/tv writer friends who live in LA, so now I will finally have a chance to meet them in person! And the two guys (writer, producer) for "The Rectory" also are located there, so I'm hoping we might have time to meet and hang out too. It would be nice to get to know them a bit before I'll be helping with the location scouting a few months down the road. Next on my agenda for tomorrow: booking my flight to Vancouver, for the Vancouver Webfest, which will be the destination event of the year! Suzette - the gal in charge of the festival - and I have been making many plans. My original vision when I was paired up with Suzette to help with art needs and assist with the planning was to create an event that was a hybrid of the usual webfest and a con. SO happy Suzette is with me on the idea! If two people are having similar ideas, it can't be crazy, right? LOL! One of our cool things will be having Mohave there. Mohave is the mysterious hawk/avian co-star from "Divine". I had been messaging with Joanne, Mohave's trainer, over the Super Bowl weekend. We came up with the idea, presented it to Suzette, and so now it's a go! People at VWF will be able to get their picture taken with Mohave! Love it. So many things going on, these next few months! Exciting times ahead.

I survived the coldest winter I can remember, mainly by staying indoors. I avoided driving in any of the snow, but I did need to shovel a lot of it. I have been watching some TV that I missed early on. The Big Bang Theory has won my heart because it is hilarious. The surprising thing that happened while watching the series is that at the end the WB riff is played. Every time I hear that riff, it reminds me of Supernatural. I did finally venture out to go to a movie theatre and that was fun. I have missed the nachos that they serve and that was a special treat. It will be nice to get out and do so walking. We cannot all have the excitement anicat has, but it is nice to hear about her adventures.

Aww!! AA, everyone has exciting adventures! To me, living in and around snow would be unique and interesting. Considering I can count on my fingers the number of times I've experienced it in my entire life. Seeing a mountain - a real mountain! - first-hand, with my own eyes, was a profound moment...yet I have friends who go hiking & pack a lunch to enjoy in forest parks & on mountains often. For them its something they do as a casual everyday outing, and yet for me such a thing would be a special, rare experience, an adventure in the Great Outdoors, something I have never had the chance to do. Right now I'm hoping to make up for lost decades spent working long days for companies I didn't like and/or was beaten into the ground by relentless monotony...or unemployed with nothing to do and nowhere to go, and all day to do it. So now I actively seek out chances to get out there and do stuff! GISHWHES, AMOK, a local org that puts on healthy living/environmental events a few times a year...meet new people I can network with on Twitter: writers & producers in LA who participate in weekly hashtag chats. Because chatting with them may lead to more new opportunities! I might ask to be a volunteer worker at DragonCon, I will be volunteer-working at the Vancouver Webfest. I saw a little ad in my local paper asking for people to submit their reels for a film being shot in Amelia Island/Savannah area, so I might send an email asking if they could use a graphic designer, or someone to fetch-n-carry on set. The worst thing that can happen is they say "no"! At the moment there is a little less adventure and a lot more stress: the website that has been way too many months in production is finally in the home stretch, and I have dozens of Laurels for all the series to create for each series page. Jason landed the need for a pitch package on me yesterday...needing to go out to Machinima/Microsoft next week. Two versions: print and interactive pdf, meaning the layouts need to be done AND PRINTED by Wednesday - pocket folder and everything. And now its Friday and I haven't even gotten any copy/content for any of the pitch yet! Plus I still have three logos and a sticker to design... I will be having some super-cool weekends coming up! But before I get to them, I will be spending more weeks like I have been doing these past months since Thanksgiving: locked in my apartment, at my laptop, and only venturing outside once a week or so to get some groceries, take out the trash, and collect the accumulated junk mail, LOL! Not exactly life on the wild side.

My #2 was dropped off yesterday; then I received a text from his mother that said "I dropped off a huge package for you." I had to think about that for a moment; then I laughed. He wound up spending the night and entertaining me with his TV shows like " Ridiculousness" which is hilarious and with funny Vine posts. We both like The Big Bang Theory so we laughed at Sheldon and Leonard for awhile. I am waiting for someone to pick him up. He is never in a hurry to leave and they are never in a hurry to pick him up. We went to our favorite place where we pay for the food by weight. A stranger commented to me that I should go to the grocery store and stock up on food for the snow storm. Then he commented that he was in a restaurant recently and someone ordered $50 of food to carry out and they should have gone to the supermarket too. I wondered if I looked like a nice person who gave a crap what some strange man thought. I restrained myself from commenting on the irony of him voicing his opinion on what others should do with their money while he was purchasing carry-out. Thank goodness for the single life. I have been feeling good and I am not working myself too hard. Spending time reading novels and I am thinking about taking some mini courses in the spring to keep my brain alert. The local community college gives senior citizen discounts.

I like to watch the Big Bang Theory also, I like smart humor, I can't watch show that hit you over the head with punch lines or have so much canned laughter it puts me off the show. I think if you want to take some courses this spring you should do it, it is always good to learn new things. I am glad you are feeling well, and that you didn't say anything bad to the man that spoke to you. I am slowly getting better from the bronchitis, it is just taking a long time to get over it. I don't know how you can keep up with everything Anicat, do you have planner or assistant to help you with all that?

Squee! Getting close to my LA trip, to Hollyweb. Feels a little more real now. I fly out in the very early a.m. Friday morning. Still not sure exactly what I will do when I get in to LAX....which anyone who knows me finds vastly amusing, considering I'm a person who plans way in advance, preparing every detail for things, especially travel. I study airport layouts, so I can memorize the quickest route to a connecting flight! So the idea of me flying in solo, with no solid idea of how I will get from there to either the house where I'll be staying (I was adopted by the cast/crew of the series "Asset") or Raleigh Studios, where the event is happening that day, is very unusual. BUT I did look into the Super Shuttle, which can either drop me off at a hotel about 2mi from Raleigh for around $19, or at Paramount, which is essentially a block away, for $29. Will my inner Scrooge McDuck win and I take a stroll thru the streets of Hollywood, Supernatural crew duffel in tow, for 2mi or do I suck it up & pay the extra $$ so I don't have to walk? OR, third option, find out if anyone in the Asset crew can pick me up from the Shuttle drop-point....okay so maybe I have been planning. A little. The fact that I'm T-minus 3 days and still without a CONCRETE plan means I'm maintaining my status of flying against my norm, being a unplanned rebel this trip. The earthquakes going on have me a bit worried, earthquakes are my Mother Nature nemesis. Give me a hurricane any day! THOSE I'm not concerned about, I can get out of the way if a hurricane is coming. Earthquakes fall into the "inability to properly prepare for" category...see above for my SOP when it comes to planning for things. So. Anyway! Hollyweb! Squee! I'll finally get to meet in-person so many of my film peeps. Hang out, watch screenings, help with the live filming of "Super Geeked Up" interviews, hit Jason up for the metric ton of sushi he owes me. Maybe have breakfast with the producer of the film I will be helping with in the fall. Hoping to meet the gal who created the "They Live Among Us" series...and even more, Geoff-the-lead-actor-and-former-Navy SEAL-who-is-HAWT! I want to put her in touch with Jason, about TLAU. I won't be able to see the one guy I really wanted to hang with: Eric, my LA writer friend. HE is now in NYC, working on a project with Marvel. Which is totally awesome, but I was so looking forward to being able to hang with him during the trip. He thinks he might be able to fly out to the Vancouver webfest, so there's still a chance we can get together soon! He too owes me a metric ton of sushi...
