Finally! With the hype from season 6 I would have been so unmanly ticked off if Sam's hell experience isn't addressed in one form or another. Have you seen this? Makes me even more excited about Lucifer's return! "Supernatural Producer's Preview 7x15 - Repo Men " youtu.be/N5S3ZSIIY-wSorry, I can't remember how to imbed a youtube, and I can't find where someone said how to, as there doesn't seem to be a specific thread for such helps. I took a peek and cringed when he said Sam and Dean get separated. That always spells trouble.

Yup, broke my own damn rule and peeked at that bit of spoiler. Sam refusing to engage with Lucifer (until now) reminds me of John Nash refusing to engage with his 3 hallucinations which helped him retain his sanity by the skin of his teeth. Dean did refer to the film Beautiful Mind so SPN is keeping up with Hollywood's easy version of managing mental illness, sheer will power. I did see that clip and broke my own rule as well. I had not watched any sneak peaks after Hello, Cruel World. Since it did not reveal much I considered that "tripping" instead of "falling" It wet the whistle just a bit. Very excited for the start of Sam's breakdown tonight. It is long overdue.

AntiArbitrator and jensenRick I have to agree with you both. When Sam and Dean separate it does always spell trouble and I think in this case we know what kind of trouble our Sammy is headed for.

So true! We just don't know how severe it will be. I'm very curious about the "letting lucifer in" part in that regard. Will lucifer again wrestle w Sam for control? Hmm. P.S. I like the little phone icon and tag line better than the large signature that Droids have. Btw, earlier in the week, there was a clip on my facebook feed asking us to caption the picture. It was Sam sitting on a bed with Lucifer standing facing him with outstretched hands. I captioned it as Lucifer saying: "Sam, come back to Hell with me. I really miss you."

Sam was so awesome this ep. He sacrificed his very sanity, because he needed Lucifer to find Dean, and DEAN IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN SAM'S LIFE.
I'm sorry, but no one can ever say, after this, that Sam doesn't care about Dean as much as Dean cares about Sam.

This episode was Sam-centric brilliant!! Loved me some smart, clever, problem-solving & focused Sam. Even with Luci literally getting in his face at times, Sam kept it together and did what he had to do to figure out the case. GO GO GADGET SAM!!! Dean: dunno whuzzup with you. Not Dean of old, dude...those were some amateur mistakes buddy. Old You would have kicked New You in the ass, IMO. Please Lord, bring back Old Dean soonest? I miss him. Back to Sam: Sammy!!!!!!!!!! Even with a head full of HallLucifer, it's Sammy for the win!

Geez Dean, take off the poor kid's gag before untying him. The downgrading of Dean's smarts and kickass-ness since season 4 nearly had me stopping watching SPN a few times, but stuck around because I wanted to see what happens to Sammy. Agree, even with a head full of Lucifer, Sammy will win (with Dean's help) because he's the toughest guy in the universe.

Sam doesn't and shouldn't cater to the mega emo, but I guess I can understand why some fans need that Yup yup, Sammy was awesome in Repo Man. Once he realized Dean has been lured into a trap he had to talk to Lucifer to figure out how to save Dean. I don't think he realized it was letting Lucifer in until it was too late.

You got me there, Bill. Yes, it does still bug me to see people commenting that Sam always verbally assaults Dean, that Sam never appreciates Dean, that Sam doesn't need Dean like Dean needs Sam, that Sam is always leaving Dean, and that he does so to hurt Dean. It's unfair, unreasonable, and yeah it bugs me. When I see some fans say this ep was "boring" because no leviathans while simultaneously saying "slice girls" was an epic thrill ride, I can't help what it does to my blood pressure. It probably shouldn't bug me because people who can't see that Dean is the most important person in the world to Sam must have hard welded blinders on, and their minds are made up. Thus an episode like Repo Man shouldnt need me to shout Sam's love for Dean from the rooftops, but I can't help it. I'm not looking for hand wringing but I think a wonderful and clearly demonstrable act of sacrifice on Sam's part should not go unremarked. Maybe Sam didn't know the full impact of listening to Lucifer, but I doubt that would have affected his decision to find Dean at all costs. Further I'm not familiar with this context of "mega ego" could you explain?

Additionally I didn't see anything wrong w Dean's actions. Logically the gag is always last after all the confining ropes are freed, that the same for any situation like this. I thought Dean was awesome in this ep

[ Further I'm not familiar with this context of "mega ego" could you explain? It's "mega EMO". All weepy and in a puddle of tears. I meant that some people want Sammy to go all total girl (my apologies to the girls) and wail and weep and scream to the high heavens (like Dean did) "WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?!?!" At least that's the impression I get. It's not enough that Sam quietly suffers and nuance emo through season 3 over Dean's deal, but they want him rolling on the ground wailing "WHYYYYYYYYY" ala Nancy Kerrigan style. When Sam said, "You know me, I'm not leaving my brother alone out there" in Man Who Knew Too Much, good lordy the sqeeing that went out. Yes, "they" knew that Sam loves Dean very much but "they" want to hear it from Sammy. After all Dean made it verbally clear several times that nobody is more important to him than Sam i.e. Weekend at Bobby;s, Dean was incredulous that Bobby would take another important phone call, "More important than Sam?!" and Dean accused Bobby of being selfish, which got Bobby tearing into Dean a new one.

Yup, for some their mind is made up and I think they're morons, but that's their problem. Me, you, and most of the fandon knows Dean is the most important person in Sam's life, it's as obvious as the sun in the sky. But Dean doesn't have the same independent streak as Sam and so for many that is seen as a ding against Dean's character, so some people take it out on Sam instead by making independence a character flaw. We know that's bullshit. Sam's independence saved him and Dean from a crippling codependency relationship.

I made another video with my own images/pics. I needed this to do! Want to share with you! youtu.be/Ts0IUSM3YtIThat is very pretty and the music was very soothing and melancholy at the same time. Good job! Can't explain why the visuals of Sam's name carved into the earth is so effective; it's very organic and appropriate. I absolutely loved Repo Man and how Sam's story line was portrayed. Finally we were able to see what Sam has been dealing with all these months and now what lies ahead for Sam. He has worked so hard to keep Lucifer at bay and I was impressed on how hard he worked at ignoring Lucifer while he taunted him consistently into acknowledging he was present.
As soon as Lucifer mentioned that "big brother is probably dead" I knew that was all it would take to get a response out of Sam. I agree that Sam was not thinking that once he answered Lucifer that he would start losing his grip with reality. Sam was on top of the case and talked with Lucifer in order to help Dean. Sam loves and cares for his big brother very much. I could see that in this episode. I have never thought any different.
I loved Sam and Lucifer's interactions. Jared and Mark were brillient and there acting chemistry is so amazing. Lucifer was funny and scary at the same time. The last scene when Sam finally could not get rid of his hallucinations of Lucifer were great. I felt so bad for Sam. The look of terror in his eyes, the fire burning around him and he could not stop the hallucinations anymore with squeezing just his hand. To end it was that eerie laugh of Lucifer's.
I am one who believes that the old Dean will be back soon. I see a little more each week even though he has his own issues. Sam has now started to lose his sanity in order to save Dean. Once he sees Sam falling apart and having a breakdown he will make sure his little brother heals. I always believed that by Dean helping Sam heal may in turn help him heal himself as well.
The next episodes are going to be so good and so intense while we watch Sam's sanity crumble with him not sleeping, his continued hallucinations, and then being committed to the asylum. That small snippet of Sam being rolled on the gurney was so sad. I could see how broken Sam really is. Kudos to Jared, Jensen and Mark for their acting in Repo Man. This episode is now tied for my favorite Hello, Cruel World for this Season.

ITA JensenRick and JIA! I tried so hard to be spoiler free but did see a brief vid and I was under the impression that Sam was trying to solve a puzzling case and resorted to letting Lucifer in, which I thought didn’t make sense because no case is worth the risk of one’s sanity. But of course it was because that Dean’s life was in danger that Sam engaged with Lucifer. One of my favorite scenes was Sam comparing notes with Lucifer while walking down the alley. The “partnership” seemed so natural that it was disturbing. It was a partnership out of Sam’s desperation to save Dean, but what a great team they made and it was incredibly well written, acted, and played out.
“Repo Man” continues the awesome streak that Supernatural is going through, starting with “Hello, Cruel World”, the following episodes range from good to alright, then got awesome again with “Time and Time Again”, noticeably due to the severe lack of any ex dues machine and this trend continues with “Splice Girls” and now “Repo Man”.

Just watched Mystery Spot on TNT. I know a lot of people liked Sam, Interrupted, but I think Mystery Spot was the best Sam episode ever! Mystery Spot was a great Sam episode! Watching Sam having to see Dean die repeatedly was heartbreaking. When he met up with Bobby or should I say The Trickster toward the end was such a riveting scene. After Sam killed "Bobby" he was expecting to see The Trickster immediately and when he didn't appear for those few seconds you could see the fear in Sam's eyes. Even more heartbreaking was when he was begging The Trickster to bring Dean back. If he had not I think Sam would have lost it then. The hug Sam gave Dean when he woke up and it was Wednesday showed the love Sam has for his big brother. I saw a real change in Sam and it was sad. He wanted more than anything to save Dean. Sam, Interrupted was a great Sam episode and showed just how much anger Sam had inside him. What I love about Sam is that he is such a complex character and has such mystery around him. It will be interesting to see Sam have his mental breakdown.

ITA, Mystery Spot was a good one to see leading up to the asylum ep. I wonder if we will get far enough to see Sam Interrupted by then, too? Relatedly, I have seen every ep many times, yet I can't seem to help watching them again, almost every morning on TNT...guess I am a fan!

I'm rewatching Season 5 and I've got to say I'm pretty disgusted with all the Sam blaming / him always getting the short end of the stick. He's apologizing in EVERY single episode! I just finished the one where they die and go to heaven. And he's repeatedly apologized to Dean for his idea of heaven... ugh.

Can't wait to see how Sam is in Season 8. It was mentioned at a recent con that Sam is still not alright. I personally saw that when Dean disappeared to Purgatory and Sam looked so lost, scared and as Crowley put it...truly alone. It will be interesting to see how Sam handles himself this time around as compared to the first time he was without Dean. I do want Sam to be the one to figure out how to get Dean back from Purgatory and then of course have the ultimate brotherly hug. We need one of those in Season 8. Counting down the days until October. Still a long way to go until the end of the Summer Hellatus.

Seems like Sam will "grow" but his sideburns will not. "On a side note, fans who were wondering about Sam's sideburns can rest assured that they have been significantly trimmed. Padalecki joked that 'they were gradually taking over my face.'"

I am watching first episode of S4. Sam sneaks out of the motel and returns to the diner alone. Dean has the "magic knife". I have watched this episode countless times, and this is the first time it struck me that I should have known something was special about Sam just by the fact that he would return alone to face demons without the knife.
