This was our original theme song, and I still think it's great. It captures the wonderful feeling we got when we all refused to listen to the CW glorks and created our own home, after they gave us the Christmas present of taking our board away last year.
(click on 'watch on YouTube'.)
I'd add to on a personal level what I think is the greatest rendition ever of Brian Wilson's 'God Only Knows' by Lyle Lovett, because it makes me realize how important all of you are to me, and to the rest of us.
And finally, a song that makes me think of our dear friend Aeryn. It's one my theme songs, too. And I think it fits our spirit here-- at least for some of us.
We just went from heaven to hell, didn't we? I think that's appropriate.
Please add yours.

I had this 45 at one time. Do you know that on the B side there was a copy of the song played backwards? And yeah, it's perfect.

This song reminds me of us because of everything we've been through and with them taking the CW then WB away from us, all we wanted to do is get all of us together again, because we are more than just friends, we're just a big family who happens to span from coast to coast... and maybe other countries too. ~

God, do I love Warren Zevon. I'm so lucky to have gotten to see him in Baton Rouge during the 1980s. I love that video you posted. I'd not seen it before. But take a look at this. I think it might be the finest version out there. He gives everything in this performance. It's live. As I wish he was.

I almost posted that version but I picked the clean studio version, instead. He was quite inventive, that excitable boy! RIP

I am on chaperone detail for 14 year olds and decided to relax and listen to some of the songs all the way through. I enjoyed both versions. When I heard the extended riffs in the live performance, I got so excited I decided to plug my good headphones into the computer and the sound is amazing. I am so glad this song was posted. I'm sure I'll listen to it many times.

The only problem I had with the live version was the shameless playing to the locals...."Werewolves of New Jersey" JUST ISN'T RIGHT! In the meantime:

Listening to this song makes me want to get off the computer and pop in a DVD. Darn young folks don't want to go home and are monopolizing the TV, but it gives me a chance to just sit and listen to music. This thread is wonderful and thanks SoCal for sharing so many of your favorites. Have you noticed that your emoticons keep time with the beat on all of your songs?
