Mitt Romney is coming to my state, Alabama tonight, in a hunt for campaign cash. While it costs $1000 to get in, if you want to have a private dinner with Mitt, that will set you back $25,000. I'm so happy to read that immigration activists in my state plan to rally outside the club and protest Romney's immigration stand, which combined with Alabama's recently enacted laws constitute a rollback to the dark ages. Here's the way it works: first we will deport you, but don't worry about that. Then, we'll outsource American jobs to your country, so it's win-win, right? Let's hope he does better than last time, back in March, when he traumatized a child And actually said this: "I understand how difficult it can be for an African-American in today’s society. In fact, I can relate to black people very well indeed. My ancestors once owned slaves, and it is in my lineage to work closely with the black community. However, just because they were freed over a century ago doesn’t mean they can now be freeloaders. They need to be told to work hard, and the incentives just aren’t there for them anymore. When I’m president I plan to work closely with the black community to bring a sense of pride and work ethic back into view for them." Good luck with that Mitt. It was enough to get you up to third place in the state's GOP primary. The people in my town, black and white both, don't need to be told to work hard. They do it every day, and more often than not for minimum wage. I'd venture to guess that not a single one has a car elevator in their house.

Obama's $35,000-a-Plate Dinner Feeds All the Wrong People Posted by Jacqueline Burt on October 24, 2011 at 1:25 PM
Oh-bama! Looks like tonight is going to turn out to be a veritable windfall for President Barack Obama's re-election campaign, with back-to-back fundraisers hosted by some of Hollywood's brightest (or at least wealthiest) stars. First up: A $35,800 per-person dinner hosted by Will and Jada Pinkett Smith at the Los Angeles home of Hitch producer James Lassiter and his wife, Mai. Wondering whose pockets are deep enough for din-din with the prez? Attendees will include Troy Carter (Lady Gaga's manager) and his wife Rebecca and Def Jam senior vp Jay Brown and his wife Kawanna, head of Magic Johnson Enterprises.
Personally, I can think of a few folks Obama should add to the guest list. Low-maintenance types. The kind of people who would probably be perfectly willing to split an entree.
I'm talking, of course, about some of the very people Obama addressed in his jobs speech last month: The homeless population of Los Angeles. Not that they could all fit in the President's limo, of course -- at 11.9 percent (as of August), L.A.'s unemployment rate is still significantly higher than the national jobless rate of 9.1 percent.
Even so, certainly a handful of struggling SoCal residents could be accommodated. Obama could just swing by and pick up some local "job-seekers" who live under bridges and sleep on sidewalks on his way from the airport to hang with Will and Jada.
Or better yet, considering the fact that the average homeless person could live for a year on what their would-be fellow diners are paying for a plate, maybe a few guests would be willing to forgo their promised meal and give the money to a member of Obama's unemployed entourage instead. I mean, it's not like Lady Gaga's manager is gonna starve to death if he skips a meal, right? Anyway, I'm sure Will or Jada would slip him a bread basket or something.
As for Obama's re-election campaign, the second gala event of the evening should make up for any financial loss: Tickets for the Latino fundraiser to be held at the home of Melanie Griffith-Banderas and co-hosted by Eva Longoria aren't exactly cheap (between $5,000 and $35,800).

Hey, look at me! I can ride without training wheels. PLEASE LOOK AT ME. I'm so cool (not) I ride a bicycle about 80% of the time. Like President Obama I wear a helmet. That's a refreshing photo to us bikers. Just seeing President Obama on one will resonate through our community, and will be huge in Colorado, where folks often bike 30 minutes to an hour to get to work. They do so because they care about our environment and the benefits to one's health. Congratulations, you've just managed to alienate another community of Americans. Keep going.

Please, your sanctimonious drivel has just caused my blood sugar level to shoot up by 150% Goody for you. I'm so enthralled and enchanted that you ride a bike. So do I. But....shhhhhhhh....I don't wear a helmet. Lawd a mussy, what a risk taker I am. Maybe you can petition Barry to ride a bike when he and his entourage come out to southern California (to raise oodles of Hollywood money -- that's the only reason he comes here), instead of flying Air Force One (at taxpayer expense) and shutting down both LAX and snarling traffic for hours at time. Golly-gee whiz, I bet all those cars stuck on the freeways waiting for his motorcade to escape the hoi-polloi are spewing out tons of exhaust into our air. I'm glad Barry can stay upright on his bike. BTW, if you want to see a REAL bike riding president, Looky here:

Sometimes I think neither one of them will be able to get anything done.
The important thing for me personally, as long as I never get sick or seriously hurt, is who can make the stock market go up? Because for the past year, I have only made money when the stock market has gone up. And because of the formula that is used, it doesn't work for the stock market to recover quickly at the last minute, as it did during the first quarter. No gains could have made up for that bear market last Fall, because of that formula. They would have had to happen over four or five months to matter.
So far, I'm at least not losing money. Of course, I can't lose money in this program. I can only spend more than I make.

As promised, Jon Stewart's take on the Joe Biden 'chains' comment. Since Comedy Central doesn't make their videos available on YouTube, watch here: www.thedailyshow.com/watch/wed-august-15-2012/democalypse-2012---the-new-new-low-editionAnd, in one of the most amazing interviews in recent politics, with Brian Williams of NBC, Stewart dissects almost everything that is wrong with American politics today to us regular folks: the schism that prevents anything whatsoever from happening. www.thedailyshow.com/watch/wed-august-15-2012/brian-williamsAt 5:30 in, Bryan Williams 'We can't as a country keep doing this." Stewart: "Because the system we have in place to fix problems is broken. The system itself is utterly dysfunctional and broken. Williams: "And that is why the New York Times pointed out a week ago in it's Op-Ed pages, I think, that you're seeing no grand speaches. Because both sides are so hardened, everyone has retreated into their corners. There is no changing minds, there is no good decent discourse going on. Hopefully these debates, people will get a better idea of-" Stewart: "This seems to be an election based on trying, as best you can, to suppress the voter turnout of your opponent, whether it be through the case of demeaning them, or, in the case of many of the Republican states, just closing voting booths in black districts." Williams: "The problem is that the American people are really looking for someone who will fix things the best, and be good to us along the way." Stewart: "Ok, so who's that?" Williams: "I wish I knew. You know I don't do that kind of thing, Jon." But the rest of us remember what happened in Florida. Let's not let that happen again.

I remember what happened in Florida. Gore wanted a recount in ONLY democrat precints. He didn't want a full state re-count, just a re-count where he thought he could win.
The Florida count has been checked, re-checked and re-re-checked. Bush won Florida. Gore lost Florida.
Gore lost the election.
George W. Bush still would have gotten more votes than Al Gore even if the U.S. Supreme Court hadn't halted the manual recount in Florida, according to a comprehensive analysis of uncounted ballots.
In fact, Bush's 537-vote margin of victory would have increased to 1,665 under the ballot-counting standards Gore's supporters had advocated, according to a review conducted by The Miami Herald, its parent company Knight Ridder, and USA Today.
The analysis, which looked at 64,248 uncounted ballots in all 67 of Florida's counties, has Republican Bush winning under most scenarios.
"This is very good news for Bush," ABCNEWS political analyst George Stephanopoulos said on Good Morning America. "In almost all the scenarios, Bush wins."
Stephanopoulos said that the study undercuts Democratic arguments that Republicans stole the election.
Get over it.

Sorry, fortunately or unfortunately my memory of these events goes well past the last news cycle. Fox News may snare a lot of people that don't know any better, but not the majority of us who were there and remember: Katherine Harris and George W. Bush's brother Jeb Bush, the governor of Florida were at the heart of a campaign that illegallly discounted thousands of legal and legitimate votes and subverted the American election system to a degree never seen before. Harris, an evangelical Republican was in charge of Florida's vote count and co-chair of Bush's Presidential election campaign. Hers is a name that goes down in infamy for most of us, including the majority who voted for Al Gore. Florida Senate and Riscorp In the 1994 state senate election, Sarasota-based Riscorp, Inc. made illegal contributions totaling $400,000 to dozens of political candidates and committees,[9] including $20,600 to the Harris campaign.[10] Harris played a prominent role in introducing the CEO of Riscorp, William Griffin, to various Florida legislators and had a strong personal relationship with Griffin. Two years later, in 1996, Harris sponsored a bill "to block Riscorp competitors from getting a greater share of Florida workers' compensation market, [and] also pushed a proposal that would hurt a particular competitor."[9] This issue later emerged during her campaign for Florida Secretary of State in 1998. William Griffin, eventually pleaded guilty to illegal campaign donations among allegations of other serious wrongdoing at Riscorp and served prison time in 1998. The election of Jeb Bush as governor of Florida was a major factor in stopping further investigation into the Riscorp scandal. According to a SunHerald column from June, 2005, "Harris denied any knowledge of the scheme, was never charged with any crime and was cleared of wrongdoing by a state investigator."[11] This view was criticized strongly by other investigators involved in the Riscorp prosecution. Purge of voters "Harris's purge of ineligible voters in Florida also removed eligible voters. Harris, along with state division of elections director Clay Roberts, and Governor Jeb Bush used an inaccurate ineligible-voter list that eliminated a disproportionate number of non-felon African Americans from Florida voter rolls. According to journalist Jake Tapper, the problem went uncorrected for two years despite the warnings and complaints of elections supervisor Ion Sancho, and affected the 2000 presidential election.[15] 2000 US presidential election Main article: United States presidential election in Florida, 2000As Secretary of State for the State of Florida (and co-chair of Bush's Florida election efforts), Harris was a central figure in the 2000 US presidential election in Florida. Harris certified that the Republican candidate, then-Texas Governor George W. Bush, had defeated the Democratic candidate, then-Vice President Al Gore, in the popular vote of Florida and thus certified the Republican slate of electors. The margin separating Bush from Gore was 537 votes. Harris ordered a halt after several recounts. Her ruling was upheld in the state circuit court, but was subsequently overturned on appeal by the Florida Supreme Court. That decision was reversed by the U.S. Supreme Court in Bush v. Gore. In a per curiam decision, by a 7-2 vote, the Court in Bush v. Gore held that the Florida Supreme Court's method for recounting ballots was a violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. By a 5–4 vote, the Court held that no alternative method could be established within the time limits set by the State of Florida. Three of the concurring justices also asserted that the Florida Supreme Court had violated Article II, § 1, cl. 2 of the Constitution, by misinterpreting Florida election law that had been enacted by the Florida Legislature. The decision allowed Harris's previous certification of Bush as the winner of Florida's electoral votes to stand. Florida's 25 electoral votes gave Bush, the Republican candidate, 271 electoral votes, defeating Gore, who ended up with 266 electoral votes (with one D.C. elector abstaining" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katherine_HarrisThis is simply another example of cronyism at its very worst.

If Romney/Ryan get elected, they'll be there for four years.
Still, something has to be done about the debt.
And Mike Huckabee, in his three-minute commentaries, keeps talking about how government employees make too much money, and how there are too many of them. Surely liberals can accomplish their goals without having so many people employed to do it.
In Mr. Huckabee's 3:00 commentary, he said the Republicans want Biden to keep on campaigning. Obama had to spend last week removing Biden's foot from his mouth. Or at least that's what I think he said. This particular radio doesn't get too good a signal. But I have to have a separate one for each purpose.

Under Romney & Ryan plan, they would cut 19 million children off Medicaid, $170 billion funding for Pell Grant, convert Medicare into a voucher program, and Medicare will end in 4 years according to Medicare expert. How is this policy would help everybody sisters, women, men, children, and grandmas?
Also, when Romney & Ryan repeal the Affordable Care Act, 34 million people would not have health insurance. Young children will be off their parent plans; Pre-existing condition patients would have no insurance; seniors and disables would pay 50% more for their prescription drug, and they have to pay out of pocket for their health prevention services that the ACA currently offer to seniors and women for free of charge, thanks to Obamacare.
Romney & Ryan cut all these programs simply to pay for millionaires and billionaires tax cut like Mitt, instead of helping women, working poor or middle class. Isn't Trickle down economic has not worked in the last 30 years, why keep going down this deadly road?

And Obama takes $716 millions from the Medicare fund to pay for Obama Care. That will affect millions of current Medicare participants. Everyone knows Medicare is going bankrupt. Romney/Ryan want to fix it. Obama just wants to take away its current funding to pay for a plan that will limit doctors visits and payments to hospitals.

Fact about Medicare: FACT: Health care reform (Affordable Care Act) strengthens Medicare benefits, including lower premiums, free preventive care, and cheaper prescription drugs per Medicare Experts. FACT: Health care reform already saved Medicare recipients nearly $4 billion on prescription drugs. FACT: President Obama’s health care law already saving seniors money through lower premiums and free preventive services like cancer screenings, . FACT: Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) saves Medicare more than $716 billion by cutting waste and insurance company subsidies, and extends Medicare life by 8 years. FACT: Romney and Ryan would give $150 billion in subsidies back to insurance companies and, amazingly, undo progress to cut out Medicare fraud and abuse. FACT: Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan’s plan to repeal Obamacare would raise Medicare premiums and prescription drug costs for seniors at least 50% more. FACT: Romney and Ryan would turn Medicare into a voucher system, raising seniors’ health care costs while giving tax cuts to millionaires & billionaires, and bankrupt Medicare program in 4 years. FACT: The Romney-Ryan voucher plan for Medicare could raise seniors’ health care costs by $6,400 a year per CBO analyst. www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QQxGEQm6Qo&feature=player_embeddedwww.youtube.com/watch?v=LJb6tA1cXT0&feature=g-all-u

In Cleveland, George Voinovitch was a Republican Mayor that went on to be Governor. When he got to the Governors office, it was like he disappeared and like politics didn't exist anymore. There were no huge press conferences that I recall ... no boastful claims. I imagined a sign on his door that said "Don't disturb me, I'm WORKING!" There were all kinds of issues he had to deal with and that's exactly what he did. I have so much respect for how he did his job. My first issue with President Obama was when he first got into office and held a press conference to say he had an exciting new economic plan to announce ... but he didn't. He said that he'd tell us all about it when he got to California. So he boarded Air Force One and huge numbers of secret service people went to work preparing for his arrival in California. He arrived and held a press conference to announce his plan. My reaction was "Why the Hell did you just spend (possibly) millions in resources to fly across the country just to say what you could have announced from the White House?!" Maybe he learned from Jimmy Carter who wanted to be like a normal American and got slammed because he wasn't Presidential enough -- selling the Presidential Yacht and filling in the Presidential swimming pool. The big show everyone feels the need to put on could have fed quite a few people and paid some medical bills. But it's all about the show and the glory and not about getting the work done in a direct and commonsensical way. I'm am SO SICK of all the politics. The country needs a business management team instead of a President.

Anytime you see a portion of a government program will be "free," you know it's a lie.
Nothing is free. Everything costs something. If the provider isn't going to be paid for their service, they stop providing that service.
Don't be a "Chicken Little."
