Craig T. Nelson and Bonnie Bedelia are the parents of four adult children, including Sarah, played by Lauren Graham, who almost didn't get the part but Maura Tierney was dealing with cancer. Sarah is divorced from a musician who has problems with drinking and drugs but got clean last season and almost ended back with her. They have two kids, a son in high school and a daughter who's not as perfect as Rory and is working in a coffee shop (surprise: Lauren still likes coffee!) instead of going to college, and is starting to realize the consequences of her decisions.
Tuesdays at 10, NBC.

Sarah's son walked in on his mom doing it with the teacher.

The look on Amber's face when Drew told her was priceless.

This is ironic. Amber now looks like Maura Tierney--who was originally supposed to play Amber's mom--did in "Welcome to Mooseport".
Sarah was still undressed at the (female) gynecologist when she asked about having another baby.
Her boyfriend joined the poker group. Shouldn't that have been Lauren, since she's good at poker?

Over the weekend I saw last week's episode.
Lorelai and Rory took the Road Trip to Harvard.
Sarah and Drew took the road trip to Davis. No similarities. Drew hardly talked to her since he was also with his girlfriend and her parents, and Sarah was a last-minute addition. Sarah hates that Drew is pulling away from her.
Sarah looks sexy sitting at a computer with a sour look on her face.
Meanwhile, Amber, with no education, is proving to be a valuable part of the political campaign of the man her aunt is working for. With no education.
Sarah's niece got into Cornell but there's no way her parents can pay for it. Her father lost his big-time job and is struggling as he and his brother try to make a go of a recording studio. That's why her mother is working on a political campaign. She could go to Berkeley which is nearby but doesn't want to.

For eight seasons Adrian Monk searched for his wife's killer. I have seen the finale, and that may be the last episode I see, because I don't think I missed any.
And even sadder than that was finding out the killer was Sarah's father. Why couldn't they have gotten someone known for sleazy characters?
He was a judge who covered up Trudy's pregnancy to avoid scandal, even taking the baby away from her and putting it up for adoption. She thought the baby had died. Years later Trudy and the midwife were killed because the truth was about to come out. Trudy recorded a videotape for Monk and wrapped it as a Christmas present, intending to put a real present inside if she was wrong. She wasn't. He wouldn't open the present until he thought he was dying. And the reason was that the place where Trudy had the baby updated its file system. The judge was about to be outed so he killed again and poisoned Adrian. But I figured out where the poison was before Adrian did!
The judge committed suicide.

It was a rerun last night. And I was relieved about that. because when I turned on the TV that was hooked up to TiVo, I had one show about to be deleted. Fortunately, that one was a rerun. And then there was another rerun. And another. And one of the "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" episodes was a rerun. There were two for some reason. It's not supposed to record episodes that just aired. Then both "Last Man Standing" episodes were reruns. But "Ringer" was new and so was "Glee". No time to watch that yet but I will tonight. "New Girl" and "Raising Hope" were aso new. "Body of Proof" was a rerun--with Gonzo! It sure was nice to find out I had so much less to do than I first thought.
Sarah's ex was on. And that reminded me. He played the special education teacher and football coach who took a bunch of kids with disabilities to Space Camp in "A Smile As Big As the Moon", which I saw Sunday. A much more positive character.

It's ironic that you mention Parenthood because you know Zoe on the series? I used to go to school with her in real life until we were 14, and now she is acting, wowee

I couldn't believe Kristina drove all the way to Sacramento to keep Amber from doing the deed.
Amber has never been all that good-looking, although she is quite attractive now.
Poor Drew.
I wonder what Sarah will say if she finds out what Amber almost did.
That was great the way Max made a friend. He's really progressing.
I would really like to know the music in that scene with Crosby.

A lot happened this week.
Sarah is thinking of moving to New York City to pursue her theater writing career. But Drew wouldn't want to leave. So she'll wait until he graduates.
I can't believe Sarah objected to Kristina stopping Amber and her boss from doing the deed. She came around later on, but I thought she'd be furious with him.
Dwayne Wayne wants to buy the recording studio! I have fond memories of Dwayne and Whitley. And he mentioned working with Lenny Kravitz, who was married to Lisa Bonet, whose show Dwayne and Whitley were on.

What has happened with Zoey? Is she keeping the baby? I hope not. Aside from the fact that she can't possibly care for it properly, Julia would be so sad.

That was a good episode for a series finale. Everything got wrapped up nice and neat. If NBC decides to renew it, which I hope they do, maybe Sarah can get pregnant. Maybe Drew's girlfriend will be pregnant. I'm not saying I want that but they have to give us a reason to come back.
I hadn't really thought about them being Jewish, but Braverman is a Jewish-sounding name. And two of the children are Adam and Sarah. Joel is only a son-in-law, and his last name isn't Jewish, but his first name sure is. Zeek could be short for Ezekiel, but I've never seen any proof. I'm glad things worked out for Julia and Joel. Maybe we can get to know the kid better if there is a next season.
Sarah sure looked and sounded like Max. And Lauren wasn't even the original actress hired.
