My TiVo was yelling at me too. I made a spreadsheet of all the shows that were on the TiVo schedule. I removed all of the Law & Order shows, the CSI's except for NCIS (Gibbs ), all serial cop shows, and every show that family members had added. That freed up enough space that I no longer need to worry about it. Now my list has a much greater variety.

I was bug about it too when smallville was on they would take A break from thanksgiving time to x-mas a lot. You know, one of my all-time favorite Smallville episodes was "Lexmas" which was broadcast on Dec. 8th 2005. But how much more timely would it have been to see it two weeks later, on Dec. 22nd, just before Christmas? I have always love the DC Comics holiday editions, like Christmas With the Super-Heroes in which you get special holiday stories about all your favorite heroes and villains. Sadly, "Lexmas" was the only holiday episode I can remember us ever getting with Smallville. Or am I just remembering, fellow Smallville fans?

There was one other Christmas episode I remember. It was the one where Chloe had Clark deliver Christmas presents for her, I forgot what it was called, but if I remember correctly, she was still working at the Daily Planet. That one was one of my all-time favorites, I just wish I could find it again.Oh wait, that was Lexmas... yes, it is one of my all-time favorites too. And there was a time where there wasn't this big of a break in the middle of a season?

my guess networks fear ratings will be low for x-mas and thanksgiving I think you're on to something there, Marshal. And to me it seems to be rooted in the antiquated ratings system for viewing that's still in effect, which bases most ratings points on live viewing. With over half the population of the United States now using digital video recorders (which are given less value in determining ratings), that's 20th century thinking still in effect in the 21st century. That's why it's so refreshing to me to see NBC, a network first created in radio in 1926, embrace the future and make episodes of Revolution available for online viewing the next day after the broadcast.

I think Emily Owens was having a break planned but not sure how that will turn out after the holidays end.

Emily Owens was actually canceled.
I also did some research. Lexmas and Gemini were the only two episodes Smallville had that were considered Christmas episodes. Gemini wasn't actually a real Christmas episode in my opinion, so Lexmas was the only Christmas episode in the whole series. That's kinda disappointing.

Crap. All the good shows are now in the mid-season hiatus mode.
I HATE THAT!
I did see that "The Walking Dead" is going to run a 3 season marathon on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. I may just watch. That would sure beat parades and football games.

I think I need to watch the marathon of TWD on Christmas Eve. People were talking about somebody named Jim and I don't remember who Jim was.

I may just watch. That would sure beat parades and football games. When I watched the midseason finale with a friend Sunday night we talked about this subject. His idea was twofold: that it increased DVD sales and viewing for the date when they did the marathons leading up to the new episode. On reflection I think his first point was invalid. They don't offer the DVDs for sale until a few months after the season is over. As to the second, I don't think the loss in continuity begins to make up for increased viewership on that one day.

So now I'm seeing rumors that NBC has put "Revolution" on a mid-season hiatus until....... MARCH 2013. WTF? We get 10 episodes over 3 months and then they give us a 3 month break from new episodes? Who the hell is running these television networks?
