The children are not enthusiastic about the play, probably because she is so strict.

I thought their goodbye was rather long too it made me wonder what would happen to Simon while Joe was away

I am glad Simon and Ben were there to comfort Joe. Finding out at his age is more devastating than learning about his father when he is a more mature adult.
