Looks like I will be able to see "Under the Dome" tonight. Just saw on another website that CBS and Time Warner Cable have finally managed to work out some deal......one that probably means my monthly cable bill is going to go up again.

Thanks for letting us know. I will NOT post an episode summary; however, if, for some unforeseen reason, the deal falls through, and the channel continues to be blacked out, please let me know.

So, after a month of arguing about money, CBS and TWC finally came to some kind of agreement that will probably raise my monthly cable fees.....up from the $5 dollar increase TWC gave me when I got my last bill.
Anyway, I watched the show last night and was intrigued. The story is getting really complicated. Who ( is it one person or more than one) causing the Dome to create weather disturbances. It seemed to come on after Maxine shot Julia, but Junior seems to think it was caused when he left the group of 4.
Relationshops are incredibly crazy. Big Jim and Junior are constantly going back and forth in their father/son "I love you," "I hate you," "you're no longer my son" drama. And Angie can't seem to make up her mind whether she's going to tolerate Junior or scream at him enough to make him want to kill her.
Why did Maxine shoot Julia? Just jealousy? Did the Dome back off when Barbie saved her life?
What is going on between Big Jim and Barbie. And talk about bad luck. After Big Jim kills Maxine and her cohort and threatens to kill Barbie, Barbie manages to get the gun from Big Jim just as the law shows up and wants to arrest Barbie for multiple murders and attempted murder. All with Big Jim egging it on. Barbie runs and hides, but how hidden can he get in a town with a dome over it? As for Big Jim.....it's official, he's a complete and utter a--hole. Going on radio and accusing Barbie of multiple murders, including the one he committed...the murder of Maxine's mother (?).
And what was the deal with "the 4" touching the Dome and seeing Big Jim appear on the outside and suddenly spouting blood while the 4 see knives appear in their hands. They are being told by the Dome to kill Big Jim?
Wonder how the season will end? Very mysterious and just a bit confusing, but that's how Kings rolls.

They are being told by the Dome to kill Big Jim? Wonder how the season will end? Very mysterious and just a bit confusing, but that's how Kings rolls. I am wondering the same thing about what caused the dome to create the storm and what caused it to stop. Angie thinks the storm quieted because Junior reunited with the group. Joe thinks the storm quieted because Barbie saved Julia and that Barbie is the “monarch” who will be crowned. The events occurred around the same time so it is difficult to tell, but my money is on Junior. I think Big Jim cannot be trusted, not even when he is talking to Junior. However, I do think Big Jim will never let anyone use his son as a weapon against him. While talking to Junior, Maxine used key words as a warning to Big Jim that she would hurt Junior – “danger”, “worry” “to the end”… She had to die! I think Maxine shot Julia for the sole purpose of avenging the insult from Barbie’s rejection. I was shocked when Big Jim shot Maxine and her cohort. I did not expect him to be so open with it, but his openness became clear when he threatened Barbie. Yeah, that was some terrible luck when Officer Linda drove up. When Barbie punched Officer Linda, I heard Neanderthals across America saying “Dat’s right Barbie! Dat’ll teach a woman ta try ta do a man’s job.” I think “the 4” (I like that term) have too great a burden if they are expected to kill Big Jim. I do not think Junior is ready to commit patricide. There are some things I really liked in this episode. At the top of the list is Angie’s reaction when she saw the gun Junior was aiming through the window. That poor girl’s throat had to be sore from yelling by the end of the episode. Norrie frequently comes up with good suggestions when she is not throwing a hissy fit. Barbie threw his body over Julia to protect her from a tree branch AND Junior threw his body over Angie to protect her from a flying bench. After Barbie took charge and told Big Jim to shut up, I enjoyed the significant look Big Jim gave Barbie when Maxine got the drop on them. Maxine thought it was “a good thing Barbie is handsome because he sure is thick sometimes.” I will never understand how Joe determined those four splotches of white paint on the board represented them, but I am going along with it. Officer Linda’s sharpshooting skills are limited to padlocks. I really enjoyed the episode and I have no idea what will happen next.

Video clips for our viewing pleasure...
Big Jim attempts to convince Linda to go after Barbie, who has been keeping a secret from the town. Meanwhile, a scorned Maxine pays Julia a visit.
A Storm is brewing inside the dome as Barbie and Joe rush to get Julia medical attention. Meanwhile, Junior meets Maxine, as she and his dad are discussing the attempt made on Julia's life.
As the storm grows increasingly violent, Barbie continues to make an effort to save Julia's life. Meanwhile, Angie attempts to convince Junior, who turned his back on her, Joe and Norrie earlier that day, to rejoin their group.
When the storm mysteriously calms, Joe, Norrie, Angie and Junior reunite in hopes of gaining new information from the dome. Across town, Barbie and Big Jim work together to confront Maxine.
Maxine holds Big Jim and Barbie at gun point - however, the two refuse to be control by her, and the tables are quickly turned.
In search of answers; Joe, Norrie, Angie and Junior lay hands on the big dome together. However, the four are shocked by what happens next.

I didn't know until last week that Big Jim sold cars.
I hope Julia will be all right. Is there just that one nurse or are they too cheap to hire other actors?

I think Junior would kill anyone who tried to hurt Angie. Other than that, I cannot think of what would make Junior stab his father.

I leave this show because I want answers...and they give none. I learned my lesson from Lost. Hi Timmy I watched Lost and I never understood what the ending meant. But all is not lost...with Under the Dome. King promised us an ending. In fact, King promised fans will like the ending better than the ending that is in the book.

Exigent Circumstances (Preview) While the manhunt for Barbie continues, Big Jim gets the residents of Chester's Mill riled up and the town demands justice for all of Barbie's supposed crimes. Meanwhile, Joe and Norrie must find a new hiding place for the mini dome
SPOILER ALERT!
By Monday, I will forget what the word means so I am putting the definition here:
Exigent [ek-si-juh nt] circumstances 1. requiring immediate action or aid; urgent; pressing 2. requiring a great deal, or more than is reasonable

The events occurred around the same time so it is difficult to tell, but my money is on Junior. *snickers* Is that "deductive" reasoning OR is that "seductive" reasoning because you think Junior is so cute?I think Maxine shot Julia for the sole purpose of avenging the insult from Barbie’s rejection. I agree.I was shocked when Big Jim shot Maxine and her cohort. I did not expect him to be so open with it, but his openness became clear when he threatened Barbie. Yeah, that was some terrible luck when Officer Linda drove up. When Barbie punched Officer Linda, I heard Neanderthals across America saying “Dat’s right Barbie! I do not think Junior is ready to commit patricide. I agree.Barbie threw his body over Julia to protect her from a tree branch AND Junior threw his body over Angie to protect her from a flying bench. *rolls eyes* As ASTOUNDING ANGEL is trying SO hard to equate Junior with Barbie.
PRETTY sure that was SEDUCTIVE reasoning you were using earlier. *grins* *ducks*After Barbie took charge and told Big Jim to shut up, I enjoyed the significant look Big Jim gave Barbie when Maxine got the drop on them. WE need a pause for reflection...Barbie PLANNED for Maxine and company to get the drop on them...hence the pre-planned black out.Maxine thought it was “a good thing Barbie is handsome because he sure is thick sometimes.” And it turns out Maxine was the one who was thick.I will never understand how Joe determined those four splotches of white paint on the board represented them, but I am going along with it. He timed it perfectly! Rigged the power with a timer....so they either had to overcome Maxine and her hairdresserbodyguard quickly or be caught quickly..then Barbie looked at his watch...Maxine said that if he had to be elsewhere...someone was going to be disappointed...lights go out and evrybody is shocked and taken unawares...except Barbie.I enjoyed it very much as well....and I am SO excited to see what happens next! I'm curious as to how they're going to end season 1. Initially, it was just a 13-week series to span the summer. Then the ratings went through the roof and it was renewed for a second season. I wonder how they re-worked the story to make it span 2 seasons? If there is no resolution and they leave us with a cliffhanger, will we have to wait 8-9 months until it returns? I'd hate that. But, I'm sure I'll still watch.

We were promised a satisfactory ending and I hope we get one that includes an explanation of the origin of the dome. Otherwise, I would feel cheated. In spite of that, I am with you, SoCal, I would still watch the following season.

hopefully they give us a lot more to talk about for a whole. I like to talk about the differences between the book and the TV series. TRIVIAIn the TV series, the people of Chester's Mill could not communicate to the outside. In the book, people could converse through the dome.In the TV series, Dodee used sign language and her ability to lip read to communicate with people on the other side. In the book, the character named Dodee was not sober enough to do that and, of course, there was no need.Big Jim Rennie's character is the same in both the book and the TV series.

I think you would enjoy it. It has a lot more characters that they could not include in the TV show.
I think you will be surprised at how crazy Junior is in the book.
