Imperfect Circles (Summary of episode is in the next post.) This episode held my rapt attention while it took us through several crises and mysteries. I think Joe and Norrie are enjoying their “dome tests” very much by making out in different spots. I laughed when it occurred to them that taking their intimacy to the next level might be helpful. Joe seemed so innocent because I do not think that was what HE was thinking. I am really enjoying the mystery of the little dome. I think pregnant Harriet was lured to the dome and I wonder if seeing her husband means her husband is dying. I am also wondering if Julia’s house is really 3 yards from the dome’s perimeter. Big Jim continued to live up to his reputation of being tough. I like the way he handled Junior although I think he might have pushed Junior too far this time. It was no surprise to me that Junior handled the Dundee brothers’ situation the way he did. *Note to self: Do not get between a psychopath and his obsession.* I anticipated Big Jim retaliating against Boomer, and he made it very exciting. A life for a life – was that natural causes or did the dome balance the population?

Warning: Explicit details This summary is for our Time Warner victims who want to know every detail. Norrie walked into Joe’s bedroom and tried playfully to awaken him. She thought they should go and talk to the dome since it has given them powers. *Barbie and Julia in the same bed* Barbie stared at Julia with goo goo eyes while she slept. He is looking good with a trim beard and matching golden hair. *coitus interruptus* Someone was knocking on the door. It was pregnant Harriet asking for yogurt. Darn! Barbie left to help Linda keep order in town. Big Jim tossed junior out of the house and embarrassed him in front of Angie. When Junior protested being humiliated in front of his obsession, Big Jim (father of the year) slapped him and told him he was sick. Big Jim then said if Junior came near Angie, he would make him sorry. Big Jim told Angie she could stay at the house, but Angie obviously would have preferred to walk across hot coals. Rosie’s body was still in the diner so Angie and skateboarder Ben buried her and cleaned up the diner. Yes, they dug a grave and buried her. And people say teenagers are thoughtless – not! Harriet saw Greg, her husband, near Julia’s house but he was not supposed to be inside the dome. When she reached out to touch him, she touched the dome and went into labor. Is Julia’s house really that close to the dome? Big Jim tried to mend the relationship with Ollie, but Ollie insinuated that he had the upper hand now. Norrie and Joe made out against the dome, but the dome did not react. Joe suggested looking for the dome’s nucleus. Boomer was guarding the propane for Ollie. He hit Big Jim with the rifle butt and an angry Big Jim drove off. While on patrol, Linda told Junior the Dundee brothers tried to rape Angie. He replied they won’t get away this time. Meanwhile, Julia was driving Harriet to the clinic. The Dundees car-jacked them to steal gas. Barbie came to the rescue and blessed the brothers with a little hand-to-hand combat. They ran off. The ladies need to go to Dr. Linda because the clinic was closed. The inquisitive teenagers tromped through the woods looking for the dome’s nucleus. Truman ran happily alongside until something caused him to bark excitedly. Then Truman, who did not have super powers, turned tail and ran toward home. The intrepid Joe and Norrie examined a leaf-covered mound. When it was uncovered, it appeared to be another smaller dome! Inside the smaller dome, there appeared to be a solid egg! What could that mean?! Joe and Norrie are at 1:53 in the clip. Extended love scene precedes their entrance. At Joe’s home, Harriet was being assisted by a room full of people and she was hysterical. While Big Jim was drowning his pain and humiliation in booze, Ollie showed up to taunt him and to gloat. Clint and brother were ready to shoot who ever showed up at their hiding spot. Junior shot one in cold blood and Linda shot the other in self defense. Norrie saw her mom’s image when she and Joe touched the dome together. Weird. She raced home. Big Jim executed some payback on Boomer and Boomer went up in spectacular flames. Barbie helped Alice to deliver Harriet’s baby. Harriet named the baby Alice. Dr. Alice was obviously sick and having difficulty. She indicated her heart was laboring. She appeared to be dying. Junior showed up at the diner. Ben refused to leave. Junior told Angie “I know I can’t make you love me” and he apologized. Angie was not impressed with the new and improved Junior and told him to leave. He calmly told her the Dundee guys will never bother her again; then he walked away and said good night. *Joe’s and Angie’s house* Dr. Alice was dying. Norrie and Carolyn were there when she expired. There was weeping and anguish. Angie and Joe had a happy – but brief - reunion. Norrie asked the small dome to bring her mother back. The egg inside the small dome began to emit small light flares (shown at end of clip.)

A.A. That was a great walk through of the episode. I think your showed all the good stuff and left out the mundane stuff. Except for the obligatory lesbian love scene. Jeez. I wonder what the egg inside of the baby dome is doing? Hard boiling? If TWC and CBS don't come to their senses by next week, I hope you'll do this again.

I enjoyed doing the summary and I am glad you enjoyed viewing it. Of course I will do it again if you are deprived of CBS. I did try to give you a hint to skip to 1:53 in the video. I did not watch any of the love scenes, but I enjoyed everything else. I am so very curious about the egg inside the little dome. Showing us the glowing lights in the egg was a master stroke.

VERY detailed and complete description ASTOUNDING ANGEL!!!!
Impressive.
Julia, by the way, was impressed with Barbie's rescue of both her and Harriet from the Dundee brothers...but one gets the feeling that she KIND of expected him to...
But she was VERY impressed with the way he calmed Harriet when she freaked out about what is the point of bringing a baby into their situation in the dome as it was all hopeless...
Barbie brought her into sharp focus with some cool truths...then helped deliver the baby.
Julia's house IS just across the street from the dome...as we saw when she was outside her house just off the sidewalk trying to get the attention of the soldiers...and Barbie came out of her house and mentioned that she could stand there naked and they would try to ignore her...

Bodes well for a long relationship. Harriet's hysteria was so irritating to me that I barely watched the scene, but I agree that Barbie handled the situation very well.

Harriet had pre-partum(?) hysteria instead of post-partum depression. Any and all of you ladies giving birth have license to do and say anything and I would never frown upon it. You are all VERY heroic. And guys need to be more supportive and helpful and understanding and everything would be wonderful.

Wonder how Julia will feel about Barbie when it's revealed that he killed her husband. You KNOW that's going to happen at some point.

When they thought they were going to die, he almost told her then, but was interrupted. I hope he tells her it was accidental and not just say "I killed your husband."

You forgot that Julia got out of bed but we only saw her topless from a distance. I'm glad Angie finally got around to putting on shoes. Does the actress who plays her have something against wearing shoes? That was great that Angie and Ben did the dirty work at the diner. Most teenagers wouldn't want to do a thing like that. I'm sorry about Alice. She really handled herself well, but it was all she had left. I am confused, though. Her hair is so blonde and yet in those scenes before she died it was so much darker. I think she would have been pretty without those Drew Carey glasses. Yes, I know that even Drew Carey doesn't wear Drew Carey glasses any more. What a waste of propane, especially since there's a limited supply. The purple egg looks like it will be interesting.

I sure did forget that. In fact, I do not even remember it. But I remember seeing Barbie without a shirt on.
I guess we have different priorities. LOL

I don't remember seeing Barbie without a shirt.
I go to church with a man whose name, though spelled differently, is pronounced Ken Barbie.
I watched an old Molly Ringwald movie called "Fresh Horses" over the weekend. It's not a cute teen comedy. It's not a comedy period. She's really troubled. And it's amazing how much Angie's house looks like the house where her character spent a lot of time to get away from the troubles in her life.
The movie was filmed in Ohio and Kentucky, but this week I saw a newspaper article, and one of these days I might find it online and post a link, saying this series is filmed in Southport in North Carolina. In the actual newspaper there was a huge photo of Angie next to a church. I didn't recognize her, but it said that was her.

I posted elsewhere that a Zimbabwe hospital only charges $50 for a delivery, though there I suppose that's a lot of money. Plus $5 each time the mother screams.

I don't remember seeing Barbie without a shirt. I thought it was sort of funny because I remember Barbie from a past episode without a shirt, but did not remember Julia without a shirt in the most recent episode.

Thicker Than Water NEW S01, E08 Mon 8/12/13, 10:00PM-11:00PM CBS
Junior is shattered when he learns the truth about his mother's death; Julia becomes acquainted with the powers of the mini dome.

I think Norrie's reasoning (2nd clip) is flawed. I thought the mini-dome did her a favor by letting her know she should go to her mother.

As always, AA, thanks for giving us hints as to what's coming up on UTD. I'm so aggravatted that I can't see it, but will look forward to your positing about it......as long as it's not too much trouble. Do you suppose Junior will pull the trigger? I'm thinking not since Big Jim seems to be a major character.

Wouldn't that be a shocker?! I will not believe it until I see it. If he does, that will be the headline on the summary. They keep teasing us about what happened to Junior's mother. It must have been something bad and they never told him.

I wonder if we'll find out? I know from some Stephen King novels, he doesn't always tell us everything but the maker of this series has already strayed from the book, so, who knows?

Where are the 'Good Guys' in this show?
Seems like most are compromised by character flaws.
Perhaps that is the lesson...

The teenagers seem to be the ones who are focused on doing the right thing while the adult males have serious character flaws. Skateboarder Ben helped to bury Rosie. Joe invited people to stay in his home and he is always thinking of ways to make things better.

I was thinking that Dean Norris is an excellent actor. He is making Big Jim Rennie come to life for me. He also plays in "Breaking Bad". Interesting trivia about him: Was the valedictorian of his graduating class at Clay High School (South Bend, IN). Was accepted to Harvard College where he graduated in 1985.

Thanks for the link. In the on-line article, it is easy to recognize Angie and that it is a still shot of her near the church at the beginning of each episode. When I watch shows that are filmed in my town, the buildings never look familiar to me.
