I think TPTB have been reading fans comments and decided to respond to them in this episode - thank you Eric Kripke. Joe voiced two of our suppositions...someone inside the dome will be made "king" or the butterflies that covered the dome are the key. I am disappointed that Joe said the theory that Angie will be crowned is wrong. But he is just guessing...and cannot wrap his head around..."my SISTER?"
Was Junior right all along? I do not think so. Angie dumped Jr. because she wanted to leave Chester's Mill...THEN Jr. got jealous when he saw her talking to Barbie...then he locked her up.
Jr. was HOPING the Dome was behind Angie's decision to leaveand NOT because she was tired of both him and the town. Were his intentions to protect Angie from the evil Dome misunderstood? I doubt it.Will Junior Rennie be the fourth hand? Hope not. That would make it two couples... Joe Norrie and Junior Angie. Personally, I want the fourth hand to be Ben, the skateboarder. I like him and he stood up to Junior when Angie needed backup. I like this paln!I know...I know...Junior would wring his neck if he touched Angie.
Chester's Mill is already wild and Maxine wants to make it even wilder. I wonder how long it will take for her to have a fatal accident. And she was SO nice on THE FOLLOWING! Kudos AGAIN for your wonderful and accurate and concise description of the goings on in Chester's Mill ASTOUNDING ANGEL!!!! AND for locating and sharing all of those clips! ...And all of this amidst humidity! I am having a parade and fireworks in your honor!

I did not take into consideration that Junior zapped out when he saw Angie talking to Barbie. Junior does seem sooo sincere though when he talks to Angie. I guess he gets that from his father.

Wow! Great re-cap, AA. Although I'm missing some parts you're commentary fills that in. So where did Junior get the police clothes that fit him so well? It's like he's playing dress up. I was wondering, too, if he's the 4th hand. I hope not. He be nuts. Why does Angie keep falling into his "clutches?" That is getting a little trite. Where was Max hiding all the time since the big Dome appeared. She looked remarkably well taken care of for not being seen before. Big Jim goes from mean/powerful to sheepish a little too much. Why were he and the preacher going to cook so much meith? Did anyone else cringe when Linda shot the lock of the door hiding all the propane? Jeez, she could have set off a monsterous explosion. What are the pink stars? Are they stars or something else? What really happened to Junior's mother? Whew, I'm all a-twitter! Thanks, AA/

What are the pink stars? Are they stars or something else? What really happened to Junior's mother? Whew, I'm all a-twitter! Thanks, AA/ Sometimes there is so much going on in the episode, I hope the commentary is not overwhelming. Junior's uniform does fit perfectly. And he is always well groomed even though he is homeless. I wondered how Max managed to find a home which must have had propane and must have had food also. The locals would have noticed a strange woman dressed like a hooker breaking into the grocery store. Good point about the danger of Linda shooting the lock. I was too busy admiring her marksmanship to think about the danger. There was a ridiculous amount of propane in storage. Those were huge tanks, not the size homeowners use. Ah...your inquiring mind wonders if those pink stars could be something else. Have you been chatting with Stephen? He did tell us in the book, but he will probably change it for the series. So...no spoilers from me. Junior's mother is an interesting topic. For nine years, Big Jim has thought his wife was losing her mind and "chose to leave them" by committing suicide. Now we realize she was having dreams/nightmares that probably affected her stability. Did she put Junior in the picture because he is special to the dome - or because he was special to her? Junior's mother is another addition/deviation from the book. Thanks, Mr. King. can't wait to find out who the 4th person is. I am excited too. And...I have no idea.

I didn't realize Ollie was still alive. Somehow I got the idea he was in that truck when it blew up. Posted by The Astounding Angel on Aug 6, 2013, 2:15pm I have a hard time telling characters apart sometimes.

Comic relief. Joe wanted to catch a chicken so they would have it for dinner. He told Norrie the one rule on catching a live chicken is: “It ain’t easy.” Those chickens were too pretty to eat. Although I have no onjection to eating chickens. I had chicken soup yesterday and today for lunch. I am curious how there are crops ready to be eaten. Maybe different crops are ready for harvest at different times, but surely they can't have everything. Angie reminds me of Lana Lang. First she was the beautiful damsel in distress and now she's gone from waitress to manager of a place to eat.

Next Episode August 26. 2013 Let The Games BeginJulia uncovers the truth about her husband's disappearance and unravels some of Chester's Mill's darkest secrets. Meanwhile, Maxine shows Barbie how she plans to take control of the town, on the next episode of Under The Dome airing Monday at 10/9c. Natalie Zea guest stars as Maxine. Only CBS If Barbie told Julia about his part in her husband's disappearance so that Maxine would stop blackmailing him, I am okay with it. See the caterpillar? I want to know what that is about. I do not believe Dodee is the fourth hand. At least one Twitter buddy agrees that Junior has changed. Some members do not view videoclips, so here is a pic with the caterpillar.

They probably filmed the entire series before there were any fan comments. Kyle, you make a valid point if they did film every episode before it aired. Fans started making comments following the first episode. The "Eric Kripke" was a shout out to my Supernatural buddies who watch this show. People constantly said Kripke altered the storyline to appease the fans. I was just having a little fun.

I only take time to point out that over in ARROW...the character of Felicity was ONLY supposed to be in one episode...
Then they changed everything on the fly...due mostly to fan feedback....and not only did Felcity stay, but also rose in prominance...and is now a series regular for season 2.
Just saying.

Darwin, that is an excellent example of how quickly a show can make a change in the scripts. Arrow did it almost immediately, as you said, "on the fly". As I said previously, Supernatural has also successfully made changes.

maybe next week we find out who the 4th member is or they make us wait longer. It seems they will focus on what Maxine is up to. But, I noticed this week that each episode covers a lot of different plot points. In the clip, Angie said something to indicate she knows who the fourth hand is, but it went by so fast, I cannot tell if the person is shown. I really want to know who it is.

That should be exciting.
I think it was Norrie (or Angie) that said the mini-dome is a lock and they are the keys. But...what happens when the keys are used?

Maybe the caterpillar will become Mothra. ...Mothra on STEROIDS... ...But... Have NO fear! You can use your hardcopy of a Stephen King novel to whack Mothra senseless! In fact... ...flipping/fluttering the pages of a Stephen King novel at Mothra would blow Mothra into orbit!

Stephen King book versus Stephen King monster - his fans are so loyal (or brainwashed), they would actually watch it.
