This is now my new favorite show, but "Malibu Country" is yet to debut.
My first thought, when I saw commercials, was that I'd have a hard time hearing Eli Stone speak with a British accent. But Sherlock is sloppy and didn't even remind me of Eli when I first saw him. After that, I didn't think about Eli any more.
I've seen comparisons to "Monk". Sherlock is a little different from Adrian Monk. Both are very observant, seeing things and drawing conclusions no one else can. Both are consultants rather than cops. Both have mental problems and have some difficulty relating to others, but Sherlock is constantly on edge and nervous, while Adrian is pleasant and calm but very picky with a tendency to get nervous for a while if something is out of place.
What really sold me was the comedy in Sherlock's interaction with Watson. But there are some fascinating mysteries here. And it worked out nicely that the first time I saw the show was on a night when I could watch three episodes in a row. It was great.

So you have seen the thread.
I didn't have time to watch this week but I may be preparing for yet another marathon.

The thread. That's what this is. Where we comment.
I was able to watch live last night because "Scandal" was pre-empted by the country music awards. And it was good again, of course.
I can't possibly do another marathon. Even tonight there are ABC comedies and "Undercover Boss". Two of the shows are being recorded on my TiVo and I could add a third, but there's no point in delaying any other shows.
And I just realized "Glee" was probably on.

I should tape "Scandal". I miss half of what is said on that show.
"Elementary" I can follow. I won't see it for a while as I had to go to a memorial service for a man at my church and had to tape some of Wednesday's shows. I have to watch those tonight to have the VHS tape ready for a movie tomorrow. Or buy a new VHS tape.

Here's hoping I don't lose it. It's recorded but I had to extend its life. I nearly lost "Futurama" which is insanely hilarious.
I have three episodes still to watch. I'm not optimistic about having time for them, so a marathon may be coming.
On "Scandal" I think someone shot the president. At least a new episode is coming next week but that would make a good cliffhanger. I really can't follow that show because everything's so complicated.

I'll have to watch a marathon but the last time I did that I enjoyed it so much. If I can get an entire evening free I can watch all four episodes.
But they're asking "Who shot Fitz?" on "Scandal" (that's also a hashtag). Imagine if Twitter had been around for "Who Shot J.R." Or any of the Internet.
Also on "Scandal": Defiance County, Ohio determined the outcome of the presidential election. And a reporter has discovered rigged voting machines.
No way I'm missing tonight's episode!
Interesting that the county was also mentioned on "Glee", but that's not where the show is set.

How many have you not watched yet Kyle?

I'm up to four. And if there's another one this week that would be five. I think.
But "Scandal" has one more episode. The President is critical and not responding.

"Scandal" was really good last night.
They did leave us with a cliffhanger. One of the show's stars has been framed for shooting the President. Plus the gay husband has evidence he wasn't legitimately elected.
They desperately need Sherlock or Adrian Monk.

The marathon starts tonight!
I have a total of five, but only four hours after "Jeopardy". Otherwise I'll feel lousy in the morning.
I have shows to tape but I think they're reruns I've seen. I'll get them tomorrow and finish the marathon.

I like Johnny Lee Miller as Holmes, but Lucy Liu has all the appeal of a wet towel. Get rid of her and put someone with a personality in the role of Watson.

She is at least pretty. Well, sometimes. And she wears pretty outfits.
Too many for one night, but I started with three.
I really enjoyed that. And I could even look at the scenes from next week. I generally don't, but with this show it's not like with continuing storylines where you are deceived. They focus on the comedy.
I liked those twin girls who were walking around in just shirts.

That doesn't mean I like her. She has managed to be appealing in some scenes, in a way that suggests she hates Sherlock but really likes him. But most of the time, I have to wonder if they couldn't get another Watson.
But Sherlock has to have his Watson.
It's not like Monk who had his Sharona but managed to adequately replace her with Natalie.

I do too. I could be happier with their choice for Watson but it's solving the mysteries that makes it good.
Sherlock shows no emotion about half the time, like Max on "Parenthood". But he doesn't have Asperger's. I imagine that takes some skill.

I like Elementary. I just don't care for Lucy Liu. Watson should be a great character. She's just dreary. And that eye make-up!! Jeez, talk about smokey eyes.
