This is a real stretch, but I was reminded of a debate on the CW Smallville board. Should Clark kill people?
I saw three of the "Death Wish" movies in the past week and a half. They were actually all on in one afternoon on the CW affiliate but I taped two of them to watch later. Charles Bronson's character just goes around killing bad guys and it's not always self-defense or something else that would justify it.

The movie "Dune" about a Messiah-like guy who all sorts of powers, reminds me of Superman, he makes people wonder if he is the chosen one, his father dies tragically but after his father's death he is able to avenge it and fulfill his destiny!
He has several villains he has to confront along the way and he can read minds and speak through his mind as well.

Annette (Martha on The CW, Lana in the movies) was in "Falling Up" as a mom who worked in a porn shop. Though she had a tough New Yawk accent, she was like Martha in that she made people feel like they were with their own mothers, only she didn't judge.
The main plot was the son getting a job as a doorman and falling for a pretty tenant in the building.

"The Secret" was about a mother and daughter who were in a serious accident. Both appeared to have died, but the daughter woke up thinking she was the mother. Not only that but she had all the mother's memories and none of the daughter's (except when she was sleeping, when her father could tell from her talking in her sleep that she was the daughter).
As I recall, clone Lex had all of Lex's memories.

In "Punisher: War Zone" the title character was a vigilante who went around killing bad guys. Most CW message board posters didn't want Clark to do this.
"Multiplicity" had a man clone himself, and his clones each had memories of the original's past.

I missed part or all of several movies because I didn't look them up in my TiVo's listings. I went to my aunt's house yesterday thinking I had my movie situation dealt with.
So that won't happen next week, even though there are no plans for the family to get togther, I looked up the movies for next weekend. One of them which is on the list to be taped, is "The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai". Since that is the name Mistermoonlight uses on Facebook, he must really like that character.

In the movie "Kangaroo Jack", a boy wearing what looks like a cape saves another boy's life as the "Superman" theme plays.

In "Skellig: The Owl Man", the title character has to fly in order to save the life of a little boy who jumps because he has confidence Skellig will save him. After he catches the boy, Skellig flies around with the boy. It reminds me of something either Clark on "Smallville" or Superman in one of the movies did. Skellig hadn't tried to fly but he did cure a burn on the boy's hand, which he got trying to save Skellig's life when the boy's father burned down the place he used as a shelter.

"Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" has people that can fly, and they're extraordinary martial arts fighters. Not the same as super powers, except for the flying.

"Iron Man 2". Nuff said.
Also "Race to Witch Mountain". It's a Disney movie but the kids are aliens.

"The Fog", starring Adrienne Barbeau.
I liked it because she was a DJ who played big band music--and because she was Adrienne Barbeau.
I didn't like how scary it was.
Tom was in the remake.

In "The Tuxedo", Clark gets his powers from his suit. Because of this, Jimmy is able to put on the suit and also have super powers.
Unfortunately, by the end of the movie Lex has the suit. Actually, the character's name is Mr. Banning (good name for a CW moderator), but he is trying to poison the world's water so everyone will have to buy his bottled water.

In the movie "Bolt", the "super dog" has powers but pink packing peanuts are his kryptonite. Or at least that's what he believes.

I saw "Kill Bill Vol. 2". I still haven't seen Vol. 1. I had heard so many bad things about the movie that I was reluctant, but it wasn't really all that bad, once cleaned up for TV.
I think this was discussed on the WB board back in the day. Bill says While Bruce Wayne and Peter parker are the true identities and they have to put on a costume, Superman wakes up every morning as Superman, and Clark Kent is the alter ego. The glasses and the suit are the costume.

I saw "Catwoman" and it really wasn't as bad as people say.

I agree. I saw Cat woman twice and enjoyed it. The way she walked was enough to make the movie worth watching. Lol

I finally saw "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King", my first movie in the trilogy. I had avoided these movies for years because they were so long and didn't sound interesting. But if I tape everything there's no obligation to watch all at once. Besides, I seemed to have only a few movies this past weekend.
I was right. This sort of thing is not my taste. But it did remind me a lot of "Smallville".

Well, with all the weird scary creatures and the need for super powers to defeat them. At least I think there were super powers.

Gene Hackman (Lex) was in "Narrow Margin". It's quite good. He is a Los Angeles prosecutor who has to bring a murder witness back from Canada. She doesn't want to testify, but the bad guys start coming after her and they have to hide out on a train, all the while scheming to keep the bad guys away from her. He's also funny.

I don't have a choice about which week I go to the mountains. In the past, I would go with my neighbors or, after they moved, I would travel half the distance and one of them would take me the rest of the way, but then someone would have to give me a ride back to their house since they wanted to stay longer. But this year there was no big debate about gays. I had heard United Methodists were split on the issue, but there was nothing on the calendar about it for us. Not really anything to get excited about. I did see my neighbors and spent some time with them, and they were only there for the big event.
Were that event next week, "Man of Steel" would be on. But I don't pay for that channel at home.

"Back in the Day" was written by, directed by and starred Michael Rosenbaum. He was a struggling actor coming back home for his 20th high school reunion and discovering his ex was getting married. To Mark. He called the man "Clark" twice. I'll bet that was intentional on MR's part.

Kristin was in "EuroTrip". I mostly missed her contribution. In the outtakes at the end, she was shown performing with Matt Damon's heavy metal band. I thought that was her, and then I saw her in the credits. However, the movie was joined in progress after NASCAR. I didn't see the first scenes.

I was going to say that Helen Slater of "Supergirl" was in a movie I saw, but I double-checked and it was Shaver.
