It would be difficult and boring to post the results without taking a snapshot of the standings, etc.
The Americans got it done on the halfpipe this time around. Kaitlyn Farrington had the ride of her life and won gold for the U.S. women's snowboarders. She nailed the final run of the day and that enabled her to climb to the top of the medal stand. She got to share that moment with teammate Kelly Clark, who took the bronze medal in the event.

On the lighter side... I have watched the events and I have watched Access Hollywood as they give us behind-the-scenes reports on the Olympics. I must agree with those who say the following man is The Most Interesting Person in the Olympics!
Meet Mexico’s entire downhill team: A German prince who skis in a mariachi suitThe Jamaican bobsled team got plenty of attention going into the Sochi Olympics as the return of the ultimate underdog team. But Prince Hubertus of Hohenlohe-Langenburg—the one-man team for Mexico’s downhill skiing competition, puts them to shame when it comes to great Olympic underdog stories. Nicknamed “The Royal Disaster,” Prince Hubertus is a legitimate Prince of what was formerly a principality of Germany. The son of Prince Alfonso of Hohenlohe-Langenburg and Princess Ira of Fürstenberg, he was born in Mexico, where he still retains citizenship—though he only lived there full-time until he was about four. After that Hubertus’s family moved to Austria and he grew up mostly in Vienna, where he learned to ski. He might not have been good enough to compete in the Olympics alongside his fellow Austrians—which is where his Mexican citizenship came in handy. At just twenty-two Hohenlohe founded the Mexican Ski Federation and three years later competed in the Winter Olympics in Sarajevo as the sole skier representing the Mexican Olympic Committee. Over the next 30 years, along with developing a career as a photographer, pop singer, and all kinds of other miscellaneous activities that give him a pretty convincing claim to the mantle of “most interesting man in the world,” Prince Hubertus competed in the Olympics three more times, including in Salt Lake City in 2010, where he was the oldest Olympian at the games, and this year in Sochi, where he’s certainly the oldest again at age 54. Prince Hubertus might not medal at the Games (he came in 78th and 46th respectively in the two events he competed in in 2010) but he makes his presence known by skiing in this distinctive mariachi body suit. He also speaks several languages.

the Mexican guy is a joke sorry to say. I do not think anyone in the Olympics takes him seriously. I do admire him for going to great lengths to participate and he is not interfering with anyone's opportunity since he is a one-man team. I do think he has legitimately earned the title of "interesting man" though.

The events have been very exciting and a win or loss can be determined by half of a second. Amazing statistics so far. My local NBC station gives us the results before we see it on TV and I know I have been posting them. I am going to skip a day and post the results the following day after we watch. I know we won some more medals.

He has competed in other competitions. I think he is in the category of the Jamaican team that entered the Winter Olympics. People laughed at them, but then started to respect them because of the effort they made.

I was. . .um, I mean my daughter was swooning. But what is up with the guy with the dreads and giant clothes? Is he a skier or an underwear model? You would think the judges would have a hard time critiquing his moves, because he kind of looks like a big balloon flying through the air.

Here are our swoon-worthy medalists - Christensen claimed gold. Kenworthy and Goepper earned silver and bronze, respectively.

I think pic #12 is my favorite shot. Not sure which was more noticeable - the hair or the undies, but he looked happy.

So where is the medal count now stand at? Hi Jeff Thanks for asking. Although it looks like we have the 4th highest medal count, it is not as bad as it looks. We have one less than first place.

Men's and Women's Skelton is just an insane event.
What a fun hockey game this morning U.S.A., U.S.A. loved the shoot out.
Okay did Norway's Curling team go to Don Cherry's tailor for their uniforms? Can you say loud and blindingly colors on the curling court?

When I watch the skeleton events, I can't help thinking "Are they insane?" The little children of one of our ladies were yelling and cheering her on. I guess they are too young to be scared and it is exciting.
I am enjoying the events.

Actually, Ashley, Bode tied for bronze. Still awesome, though. He skied very well, especially considering his age. That reporter could not have been more obnoxious! Anything for a little drama on the side. . . Does anyone know why the coach of the Austrian women's ski team got to set the course for the women's Super-G? They said he set it up according to how the ladies on his team like to ski, and then he gave them a bunch of coaching on how to get through it. And then they got the gold and bronze medals. Seems unfair, to say the least. And it was such a tricky course that many of the ladies couldn't even finish it. My husband called the cheetah helmet the cheater helmet. Poor Lindsey Jacobellis. . .that was a heartbreaker last night.

Yeah isk why they let the Aussies coach set it seems unfair also i hear there were limits on non Russian athletes for practicing on the courses but the Russians had unlimited access.
I meen I guess he knew it would be addressed but the way it was done seemed very disrespectful. Also the ice dancing one of the Russian pairs was awful and got a really good score which I don't get at all. I am enjoying the games but the about of bias bs is unbelievable.

Wow! I missed that interview but it sounds awful.
I watched the women skiing and heard what they said about the coach setting the course. I too wondered about that because it seemed like it would put us at a disadvantage.
I watched the American pair figure skating around 9 PM and they looked beautiful and received the highest score.

Yes, the ice dancing is one of my favorite events. That was the short program last night. The free skate will be on tonight, and it should be much more interesting. I'm looking forward to it, and trying hard not to get spoiled, which isn't easy.
I am going to need a week of naps to make up for all these late nights!
