Coming to The CW this Fall. It looks really good.

Nah, not for me.
The CW really is advertising for it though.

They would have to.

I was right. This is great. And it is called the most critically acclaimed new show on broadcast TV. It must be broadcast because cable shows are usually better than broadcast shows.
Of course it's silly, but the acting is good and we haven't seen Latino culture portrayed this way since "Ugly Betty".

This is such a complicated show. So many moral dilemmas, and so much scheming. And lots of comedy.
And Jane looks good in her work uniform.
This is going to be the best show on TV this Fall.

I'm so glad Jane is still a virgin. That scene in church was great.
Everything is going really well. For us.

Oh, why did they have to make her cry? It was so good when it was funny.
I hope the show gets back on track eventually.
But getting her romantic story and her magazine story mixed up ... now THAT'S funny.

There's just too much misery even if this is a funny show most of the time.
I know. It's a telenovela. But why can't Jane be happy?

Is this not cancelled yet?

Is this not cancelled yet? I know it's silly. Everyone thinks it is. But it's one of the best shows on TV right now. They've taken a ridiculous concept and made a quality production out of it. Like "Desperate Housewives", except as far as I know, the narrator is not a dead cast member, and instead of one Latino couple everyone is Latino. I hate that Jane and Michael broke up, and I don't really want Rafael and Jane together. On the other hand, I like what Rafael did to his ex.

Jane is such a nice girl. Once she found out she would really be suing Rafael, she didn't want to do it.
But the real reason she changed her mind is interesting. I like these flashbacks and this girl playing young Jane is really good.
This is all really confusing and our narrator has decided to be as silly as the show is.

I don't get it. I read this is the lowest rated new show on broadcast TV.
Yeah, it's doing well with Latinos. So put it on Univision.
It was properly described as "loco".

Now where did I get the idea they were back to new episodes?
I'm disgusted. While Gina presented an award and looked fabulous doing it, her show was not given its award on the air. That's just not right. The West Wing big shot and her quirky daughter wasted valuable time on nonsense.

Well, at least The CW got an award. I was reading that the network never gets awards.

Why is no one posting on this thread? I don't know, maybe no new episodes until this week? Congratulations to Gina. And I'm so glad her abuela is doing better and won't get deported. Quite an exciting episode. Weird that I couldn't remember the two details that dominated the episode until it actually aired. That narrator is great. Poor Jane. I hate to see her have to tell her friends that are fired. A real friend would quit instead, but she's the best employee they have. Though how she does that and teach and go to school ...

And I don't recall commenting.
How Jane will teach, and write for her father's show, and go to school, is beyond me.
This week the focus was on the show and I'm glad she had this opportunity, even if there was scheming to get rid of her father. And it was a good scene she wrote.
And Jane's father is very patient. Who would have believed her mother could look so ... yech?
At least Rafael isn't guilty. It's a shame about his father. He may never be found.
And at last everyone knows the truth about Petra's mother.
That was great how Michael deceived the doctor. Wow, all that in one episode. And I was supposed to comment on two.

So I read this is not eligible for an Emmy as a comedy. That would make it nearly impossible for the show to win anything, though why such a bizarre concept was even talked about at the Golden Globes is beyond me. "Orange Is the New Black" is also subject to the same restriction now. Broadcast shows seem to have an easier time winning comedy Emmys, but that prison show appeared to be the first step toward that no longer being the case. When it was eligible. I don't know whether this also applies to "House of Lies".

It's not right that this show can't compete as a comedy. Have the people making that decision ever heard the narrator? And it's next to impossible for a drama to get nominated for anything these days unless it's on cable or even Netflix.
It took a while but I finally saw last week's episode. I feel so sorry for Jane's father. I'm happy things turned out as well as they did for Jane's baby. But right now I'm very confused.

I finally saw the CW special on sexy commercials. I had never heard of Ivonne Cole but according to her co-host Kevin Frazier, she is on this show. It made me very uncomfortable to see a woman her age talking about sexy commercials. On the other hand, I felt like I was seeing Helen Mirren co-host the show. She wasn't some bimbo. And Helen Mirren did appear in a movie about women her age taking off their clothes for a calendar for a fund-raiser.
I enjoyed the special a lot, but do we really need more women over a certain age talking about sex on TV? It's bad enough when Betty White does it. And to think the woman's granddaughter is supposedly moral.

I enjoy sexy scenes, but the chit chat about sex is not something I like to hear.

She appears to be Jane's grandmother. She is. And she's very strict. Jane is a virgin because of her. There's no way the woman you saw on that commercials special talks like that on the show. Plus she never speaks English. She understands it but we need subtitles. Interesting that you mentioned Helen Mirren because she is that good. Well, not THAT good. But I can't imagine that kind of sophistication with a sexy commercials special. I hate what's going on with Jane right now. And her mom who wants to move out but Abuela won't hear of it. Anyone remember Luke's sister on "Gilmore Girls"? Jane made her cry in a writer's workshop. She's such a nice girl but Jane Seymour chastised her good for her behavior, which poor Jane (the younger one) thought was all right.
