It was good to see Sherlock and Joan again. I remember him pulling the narcotic out of the book and I hoped he would not take it. He was upset and hurt that Joan was continuing with her plan to leave the brownstone.
I did not realize Sherlock had left with no warning or goodbye to Joan. She must have been hurt and very angry with him because she was rather hostile throughout the episode. It seems the Captain was also hurt because he would not have talked about “we are not friends”, yada, yada, unless he felt some emotion when Sherlock ditched him.
Let’s talk about the case. It was a very interesting “locked door” mystery and the police were not going to solve it. I think Sherlock did more than determine a magnet was used. I think he deliberately drew Joan’s attention to the shower stall and even rubbed his hands along the area she needed to investigate. When Joan returned to the brownstone, I thought she was going to confront Sherlock about that last clue but, instead, she agreed that he could work at the station.
I wonder how long the protégé, Kitty, will be around.

Haven't had time.
And despite what the newspaper TV listings said in one of the papers, I was lucky to find out the Carolina Panthers were going to lose ... I mean play ... last night. This meant I had to make sure I taped "Big Bang Theory" and "Two and a Half Men", just in case, since I haven't always gotten the show I wanted if the network affiliate didn't want to air it live. I'm lucky to have two CBS affiliates on my cable system because, while my newer TiVo can tape channels from an antenna, I would have to make some major changes which could cause me to lose everything or at least my season passes if not the shows I've recorded. I currently do not have the capability to tape over-the-air TV as it is called. Aside from my having to manually set the channel before I recorded, and make sure I have the time right, both VCRs that are hooked up to an antenna are broken. If I could buy a new VCR it would require its own converter box. I could find a combination TV-VCR, which all my TVs are, but I don't know how. The store where I bought my last one is closed and that was also the only TV repairman I know of. I do have one VCR that works but would have to disconnect it from TiVo. Which wouldn't be all that hard, but then I'd have to move it. And correctly connect another one. And then I wouldn't have a working VCR hooked up to cable--not that I really need it.
If all this isn't bad enough, until I saw a man dressed like Sherlock complete with hat on "About a Boy", I had forgotten that "Elementary" was also affected by the Panthers.

The show does not work for me with Holmes and Watson not working together.
I get how she didn't feel appreciated and wants to work on her own without being Holmes' second banana. On the other hand, it was Holmes who solved that case. And it was the two of them together that made the show entertaining. Kitty? She needs to be the victim in the next episode. It's interesting that her name is really Katherine. When I was in kindergarten (which was really preschool because public school still started with first grade) and I think for the next two years in public school, I knew a Kitty and her real name was Mary Katherine.
If "Unforgettable" was still on the air, it would move up one position based on the current situation.

Almost forgot.
I didn't even think about this, but had I not known the Panthers were playing on Thursday night in time to make sure I recorded the episode, I would not have gotten it. And yet "Two and a Half Men" recorded on the other machine, even though the only difference is that I did not record the other "Two and a Half Men" there. I have to always remember: if an episode airs twice in one week, or it is in the listings but doesn't actually air and then airs at another time, it is treated as an "encore" and you MUST tell TiVo to record encores, or select them individually.

I have not watched the second episode yet. I am behind on this, "Resurrection", "Scorpion" and other shows.

I'm in serious trouble, though, but I checked the TV listings in the newspaper that has them on Thursday and I seem to be fine this weekend. Not too many movies, so I can catch up.

"The Five Orange Pipz" were pieces of a toy that contained toxic chemicals.
Although Joan and Sherlock worked together on the case, I miss the relationship that they had. They were more humorous when they lived in the brownstone. When Kitty told Joan to go ahead and read her history, I was disappointed because that means she will remain as Sherlock's new partner.
It did take a brilliant mind to sift through so much conflicting details and unlikely suspects to come up with the truth. I wonder if the D.A. will be reprimanded.

I was really hoping that with the way Kitty kept messing up she would be gone.
I don't think the case could have been solved without both Sherlock and Watson, though Sherlock likely could have done it himself.
Gregson looks younger. Didn't they show him in a scene where he was younger? It's like they forgot to change him back.

This case was so complicated I did not even try to guess who did it. Sherlock solved Bell's case very quickly though.

I watch Elementary when it airs and I am intrigued by the way Sherlock solves the cases. Usually I make guesses about who the perp is, but I could not even take a guess during the last episode. I still enjoyed it.

I haven't seen it yet but probably will tonight. Both TiVos are yelling at me but there's not really anything I can do short of giving up computer time.
Yelling is defined as my attempt to extend the time on any episode getting a "pong" and a list of shows that will be deleted early, or in a worst-case scenario, not recorded. On the newer machine I have a bunch of movies in which I was going to see stuff I missed but I didn't do it right away and now it will be much harder. I should just delete those. But I wasn't paying close enough attention knowing I could go back. Only I didn't do that during commercial breaks, which is what I do now. With the other machine I can put down my remote right next to me but I'm generally holding it the whole time and backing up when I need to. All I need to do is get rid of a bunch of "Jeopardy" episodes. Even if I saw them already, I'll never remember. They date back to when my station aired reruns six days a week.

So why don't you give up computer time and go get caught up on all of your shows so you can talk about them and so can other people too?

3.03 Just a Regular Irregular - A math genius discovers a body while participating in a puzzle competition. (Nov. 13, 2014)
Watson has a lover and Sherlock ignores boundaries when he freely talks to her and the man about her sex life. However, he does not seem resentful about her lover the way he did when she was with Mycroft.
The case this week was not too difficult to understand, but they had to work hard to solve it. Also, Sherlock’s superior hearing and intellect saved Det. Bell from a shotgun blast.
Sherlock continues to be insensitive, but after thinking about his actions, he was willing to let Harlan back into his circle.
It seems that Kitty will be the catalyst to bring Sherlock and Watson back together.

You said you saw the previous episode. Why did you not post your comments?
It is unfair to request me to remember to post my comments two weeks after viewing the episode. Really?

I I saw the second episode of the season but what I was getting confused about was why didn't you post a third episode like on Wednesday – Thursday of this week instead Saturday after this past week. But it fine either way.

Mycroft was in a movie I saw a couple of weeks ago. I knew the name from somewhere and finally found out who it was. He was an Adam Sandler type in Australia who got no respect in the big city. Then he put helium balloons on a chair to see if he could fly. He lost control and ended up miles away in a town where people accepted him, while the story "went viral", as we say. It was called "Danny Deckchair".
Lucy was on "Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates" as a guest on the show hosted by Deepak Chopra, who was one of the subjects. She was prettier than she is here.
The math geek needs to be on "Scorpions", though Sylvester is a lot like him.
Kitty needs to go and I keep hoping she will. At least this week's episode was closer to normal.
