Still waiting. Tuesday night's shows tonight. No Wednesday shows since I watched the CMA awards already, but lots of Thursday shows that I probably won't get to until Wednesday.

I saw last week's episode and it was hard to watch. Sherlock and Watson not working with the NYPD? That's worse than Kitty. And the show would have been over if Sherlock had gone to jail, so that couldn't happen.

At least I enjoyed watching them solve their mystery, even if the cops they helped weren't the ones we are used to.

I suspected that man was actually Sherlock's father, but the man at the end was different.

Well, now we know how Sherlock and Watson will get reinstated. I hope they do, anyway. Watching them work with the FBI is considerably less interesting because the FBI wont let them do anything. It's much more enjoyable when they solve mysteries. As they finally did.

Sherlock's father isn't as bad as we had been led to believe, or at least he's more pleased with his son now. A relapse is not grounds for eviction because he cleaned himself up.

When I was reading your comments, I realized Elementary is another show that recorded the first episode, remained in the scheduled to record list, but did not record any more episodes. Luckily, I was able to set it to record on demand. I am sure I would have noticed if I did not have 8 prime-time shows on Thursday. I will catch up.

I am caught up and this is the description for the episode from November 19:

4.03 "Tag, You're Me" - Sherlock offers to assist Morland with a work issue in exchange for Morland's swift departure home; two men who look alike are murdered.

This was a unique case and Sherlock is at his best when the solution is complicated. 

Sherlock is cold as ice toward his father and is scathingly direct in making the point that he wants Morland to go home. That is not a criticism of Sherlock; it is just an observation.

Okay. A new episode aired on Thanksgiving and it is a good thing it recorded because I did not expect them to show a new one. 

4.04 All My Exes Live in Essex (11-26-15) - When a fertility lab technician is murdered, details regarding her secret personal life are revealed - leading to several possible suspects; Watson is investigated by an NYPD detective.

This was another case in which Sherlock used his attention to detail and his determination to solve a problem to good advantage. I enjoyed it. 

I have to post something on each episode to help me remember the plot.

The episode started with an amusing situation in which Sherlock had locked un-pickable handcuffs on both himself and Watson. Watson suggested it would have been a better idea to make sure they could unlock the cuffs before wearing them.

I have always been amused by some of the stunts Sherlock suggests to Joan. She was being harassed by a cop and Sherlock suggested she settle it in a boxing ring. Why ever does Joan follow his suggestions?

I have seen the episode where they once again worked with the NYPD and it is so wonderful they are doing that again.

I like warmer weather. Watson's clothes always look good but now she wears short skirts too.

It was about time we had another turtle gag.

There was another show that had the "In Your Eyes" gag. What was that? Watson mentioned later that when Sherlock woke her up holding a boom box high in the air, it was obvious he had never seen "Say Anything".

It was quite a good mystery and it feels good having Bell and Gregson back.

Watson was being investigated by a cop who didn't like that someone who wasn't a cop was trying to do the job the cops should be doing.

And yet only Watson could have solved this case. There's no way cops who didn't have a medical degree would have done what she did. Maybe someone would have thought of it but how to get an independent evaluation without tipping off the killer?

It's unfortunate but Campbell's Soup was an advertiser.

Not yet, but I should mention Watson was referred to as a citizen. Sherlock was, too, but technically he is a legal alien.

I like it better when the bodies aren't graphic like that.

But it was an exciting mystery and we even had Sherlock avoiding familiar situations when going to meetings, and then figuring out what was going on with his former sponsor--now his friend.

I find it curious Sherlock has only been sober 30 days. It seems like weeks.

Watson looked hot in that one scene where they were investigating.

Sherlock is on the verge of letting his father into his life. Unfortunately, the foreign officer who provided them with information indicated Morland has a reason for being in New York that he would not want Sherlock to learn about. It must be something very private because Morland threatened the man and his family.

I am enjoying Morland in this role which might be surprising because he was a major nemesis on Sleepy Hollow. However, he is an excellent actor.

I am too. Oh, THAT'S why he seems so familiar.

Should I like him so much if he's so evil? Well, J.R. Ewing was also appealing behaving in a similar way.

I liked how Morland's methods helped Sherlock solve the case. And we see where Sherlock gets his abilities too.

I never saw Bell so tough. But the suspect did say he would kill her, right in front of a homicide detective.

4.07 Miss Taken (1-7-16)

Watson is furious when she learns her stepfather has written a novel based on her work with Holmes; a retired FBI agent is murdered.

Holmes quickly deduced a significant clue in the case but he had a difficult time convincing others that he was right. One of the characters involved in the case made me think of Moriarty because she was clever, but I am sure she is not as brilliant as Moriarty.

Watson felt betrayed that her stepfather used her work with Holmes to make money on his books. We learned more about their relationship during their discussions.

Both on my TiVo and in the local paper, Watson's stepfather's book was the primary plot. The deception by the "daughter" wasn't even mentioned! On CBS, of course, they actually advertised that Sherlock suspected the daughter of not being the daughter.

It was a great episode, just like CBS said it would be.

And one of Watson's funniest lines ever, simply because she's not funny: "No thanks, I had poop for lunch."

4.08 A Burden of Blood (1-14-16)
A person is murdered in the style of an infamous, incarcerated serial killer.

Haven't seen it yet. I taped it from an antenna (I should delete it) but I doubt it'll be good enough to watch, so I'll probably just watch what I taped from cable.

Definitely worth watching. Holmes, Watson and Belle were together throughout the episode. The beginning of the episode was amusing and the end was surprising and heartwarming.

I do not think the police would have solved the case. Sherlock picked up the clue early on but it took awhile for him to pinpoint how to interpret and apply it to the case. He never gives up though.

It was surprising to me that as good as Bell is at this job, he's not a sergeant. On "Barney Miller", the detectives were all sergeants except Wojciehowicz, and he felt inferior to the others until he finally got his promotion.

I liked how Sherlock taught Bell. And it was quite a surprise to see what he actually did.

It was quite a case but not as interesting as last week's.

4.09 Murder Ex Machina (1-21-16) Holmes and Watson pursue a computer hacker responsible for three murders, including the murder of a visiting Russian billionaire.

KyleEl Too bad you do not remember because I was sure you would enjoy looking at Watson's very abbreviated outfit when she popped corn, then saw that the turtle was hibernating in the refrigerator. Sherlock had some fun at her expense. He commented on her lack of intimate contact and later, he said he let the young computer programmer sniff her hair while she slept.

Morland invited Joan to dinner and asked her opinion about a facility he wanted to store his own blood. After observing his lack of appetite and after further investigation, Joan determined that a murder attempt had probably been made on Morland.

The case involved the murder (overkill) of a Russian billionaire who was negotiating a deal. The getaway car's system was hacked and the car crashed through a guardrail and sank into the river. Both assassins died. Sherlock did his usual fine job of solving the murder.

The promo for the next episode indicated that there might be a hiccup in Morland and Sherlock's attempt to mend their relationship. Sherlock asks Morland does he think Sherlock is the one who tried to have him killed.

Oh, yes, I did like Watson in her very abbreviated outfit. I remembered Clyde the Turtle when I saw something else about a turtle and was going to post about him next time I came here.

Yeah, I remember the car being hacked. I don't remember much else about the investigation except Sherlock did a great job solving the murders and I did enjoy it at the time.

I also remember being surprised that Sherlock smiled.
