I think Morland hoped revealing the reason he divorced Sherlock's mother would help heal their relationship, but it seemed to refresh the hatred he has for Morland. The divorce was understandable, but invoking the prenup and leaving the lady poor caused her to live in an unsafe environment. She died when the shack caught on fire. Morland insinuated the addiction gene was passed on to Sherlock from his mother. Personally, I think that is rubbish because Mycroft did not have a drug problem. The main problem with the assisted living facility was that the director encouraged the residents to donate to bogus charities like the one run by the Chinese. When the mortician realized a resident had been given something that led to his death, he called to warn the director. The director told the Chinese and the three "victims" were the ones who beat up the mortician. The mortician wanted to make sure they stopped fleecing the residents and used a clever means of disguise to accomplish his goal. He will not spend too much time in jail because he has a life threatening illness. I was also surprised that Sherlock did not consider himself a master of disguise until he explained it is impossible to perfect the other person's speech pattern, walk and mannerisms. Sherlock is quite skilled at impressions, though. As for his addiction, not everyone takes after their parents but it does make sense.

Up to Heaven and Down to Hell
Balloon guy should have driven around the block. The body would not have fallen on him.
I enjoy episodes where Sherlock shows off his vast knowledge like there is a specific ant called a ManhattanAnt because it is found in only a ten block radius. He identified a strand of hair as belonging to a shihzu and that it was a well-cared for dog.
Marcus asked why old people have a certain smell and Sherlock explained it was a buildup of a compound called 2-nonenal in their sweat.
Sherlock looked at the dead woman’s hand and stated she had arthritis that would have prevented her from moving the ottoman that was near the balcony. Although the police had finished studying the scene, Sherlock observed there was blood on the underside of the ottoman and submitted the blood for analysis.
Sherlock identified the heel of a shoe as belonging to an expensive pair of shoes as $500 Luzattos.
Marcus recognized the woman’s meds were the wrong color pills.
The usual suspects were eliminated one by one: Was not the doctor son who switched the pills so she would be declared incompetent.
It was not her attorney who did not want to be stuck with the dog.
Buildings have air rights, limiting the height of other buildings. Hull enterprises would not be able to acquire air rights if the victim’s will is tied up in litigation. But it was not the developer who needed the air rights.
It was not the activist, Derek O’Neal, who was protesting construction of the building.
After viewing the building plans and a press release, Sherlock decided both murders were committed by someone who wanted to shrink the building. That turned out to be an architect, Busquet, who made an error in the design of the building. His reputation would have been ruined and he would have lost contracts if that was revealed.

I was expecting the man who harassed balloon guy to be the murderer.
That was one ugly building and anything that would stop it from going up or at least make it shorter would be welcome.

4.16 Hounded (3-10-16)

Elementary is moving to Sundays.
A man was accidentally hit by a vehicle and died. His brother asked Holmes to investigate because his brother’s death might not be an accident.
Another example of Sherlock’s vast knowledge: Adrenaline narrows a person’s vision, hence the term “blind panic”.
After looking at broken branches, Sherlock realized there was a third person who must have seen what happened to the victim and ran in the opposite direction.
When the second Baskerville brother told Holmes something was breaking into the house, Holmes told him to run outside and keep the pool between him and what was attacking him. That saved the man’s life.
Sherlock used a clever ruse to reveal who was behind the crimes.

I don't watch programs that I recorded late at night on Thursday until Friday after I get off the computer.
In fact, Thursday is normally a day I go somewhere, so that's a day when I read newspapers when I get home. Even if this had aired last night. I don't even remember whether it did air in the middle of the night yet.

Where I live, the show didn't air until late Friday night (early Saturday morning). And on the other CBS affiliate, I don't know when or if it aired.
The first few minutes were part of my recording of "2 Broke Girls". I forgot and deleted that before I realized that I was not getting the whole episode. Sherlock was leaving the morgue and I just hoped I hadn't missed much. I was going to ask Anti what happened. But when Sherlock played chess with the man, it seemed I was missing something important, so I went to deleted shows and "2 Broke Girls" was still there. I fast-forwarded and found that they had a long scene regarding the coroner's problems in doing his job. It was nice of Sherlock to show so much concern.
When they said the ground was frozen, I found it surprising that there was no snow. If it's that cold, sooner or later there will be precipitation, right? And if it's so cold the ground is frozen, that will be snow.
With my slow Internet and not enough time, I'll just say Baskerville seems like a reference to something related to the original stories. And since there was a dog of sorts, that would be like a hound.
It was nice to see Clyde again. We haven't heard much from him. As usual, he annoyed Watson. Or maybe not.
This was a week when we did not have Rube Goldberg during the opening theme song. That's always a disappointment.
Sherlock consistently said "pay-tent", like he says "zeh-bra".

You've Got Me, Who's Got You
The episode was one of those in which it was difficult to tell who killed the victim, or why. The victim, who donned a costume and played a superhero by helping victims around his neighborhood, was liked by everyone and no one could imagine a reason why he was murdered. Sherlock and Joan kept going back and forth interviewing people who knew the victim, but it was not apparent who might have killed him. Was it one of the drug dealers or purse snatchers he harassed? Was it an employee of the company that owned the rights to the superhero? Was it another superhero who wanted to be #1? Was it the guy who called Sherlock from the roof of his building and said he was the victim’s friend?
I was interested in why Morland wanted Joan to investigate something for him so badly that he donated $250,000 to a charity that Joan helped. She made an excellent investigation, but she lied and told Sherlock she did not take the case. Then she lied again and told Morland that no one in his company told his rival how to outbid him on a contract. Then our darling Joan blackmailed the person who had sold Morland out. She has changed, but she had a good reason for what she did.

I extend time during football season, but now we have to do it at other times. I am going to extend the time for future episodes right now while I am thinking about it.
