I think my favorite scene was when tipsy Mary Margaret challenged the Vikings to a knife throwing contest. She was very good.
Wicked Jafar made a lot of enemies. The artwork on the “human” stick was well done.
The napkin in the pub had “Aesop’s Table” printed on it.
I was more surprised than impressed that after all they had gone through, a true love’s kiss freed both Agrabar and Aladdin.
The tiny shell phone was unique. They have a vivid imagination.
Although the black fairy is Rumple’s mother, I wonder why Emma does not want to get rid of her. She is evil and takes babies. I am still baffled that Rumple’s mother is a fairy.

I'm always glad to see Ariel. She was Cheyenne in "Reba" and the wife of Gus Grissom in "Astronaut Wives", and I also liked her in "Privileged".
This Jafar looked different from the one I remember. He sure was tricky.
I was glad it was so easy to free Jasmine's city.
David seems willing to forgive Hook.
I thought Hook was never going to get out of his mess, but it just so happened he met up with Aladdin and Jasmine. I can't remember now how that ended.

I'm curious why David talked about the dwarfs like they were troublemakers.

I did like seeing Gideon's story. And time did pass differently for him.
The Black Fairy seemed so nice. Obviously she wasn't, but it just seemed like she wasn't so evil.
Emma commented on how the clock was stopped when she first arrived but now it had counted all the seconds. Not all of them, because it keeps getting broken.
I knew when Hook lost to Blackbeard that Blackbeard wasn't going to be able to collect. I hadn't considered that Blackbeard had a way to get back to the real world, which was why he was playing in the first place.

As soon as I heard the drums, I thought of the Lost Boys. I do not think Hook can outrun a group of boys.
All of the curses came from the Black Fairy. Maybe she exists to balance good and evil. I guess Gideon is not evil because he was enthralled by the Black Fairy. He should have told his father the fairy had taken his heart. I do not accept that people can walk around when their hearts have been snatched from their bodies.
The way they talked about the last chapter in the book and the "author" taking over Henry, I wondered if the series was ending. I have not yet checked on that.

I saw a spider and was reminded that this episode would be bad for anyone really scared of spiders.
They called the Author's nurse "severe nurse" in the credits. Somewhere I got the idea she was Nurse Ratched was that nurse's name. And another show I watch had a reference to a "Nurse Ratched".

I have problems with spiders and I did not enjoy seeing a giant one. I did not like seeing Emma stomp on it either.

6.17 Awake

I am ambivalent regarding the value of the episode, except for the Hook and Mr. Gold scenes.
I thought we were viewing an alternate reality when Mary Margaret and David met in the hospital room, and it took a while to understand it was a flashback. It was later in the episode that “THE TIME OF THE DARK CURSE” appeared on the screen.
Random thoughts: Emma was dressed in an unusually austere manner when she wore the outfit with the white collar.
Although Mr. Gold suggested David and Mary Margaret remain under the spell, he retained his memories. I am glad he did because I enjoyed him sparring with Regina in the early episodes. Mr. Gold no longer limps and walked proudly away from the Black Fairy.
Tiger Lily escaped even though she chose to not go through the portal. She is an interesting character.
I cannot help it, the constant and overwhelming theme of self-sacrifice on this show really irritates me.
The sipping-a-curse-from-a-cup solution was outrageous, even for a fairy tale.

I wondered why David woke up because I thought we had seen that happen. Then Snow knew she was Snow. It wasn't until I realized that Emma couldn't become the savior for ten more years that I understood. Grumpy didn't like being insulted because he was short. He's not, really. And Snow shouldn't have acted like she didn't know they didn't know who they were.
I wondered why Emma was dressed like a nun.
I noticed Gold still had his limp.
I'm glad Tiger Lily came up with a way for Hook to escape. It took a while for them to realize they had the same goal. Blackbeard, on the other hand, is still stuck.
It was nice of the townspeople to drink from the curse. I was worried they had done something terrible.

I noticed Gold still had his limp. I said Mr. Gold does not have a limp in the final scene of the episode and I am watching it again right now. Did it look like he had a limp in that scene to you?

One more thing. Young Emma was mentioned in a review in the local paper of the movie "Gifted". I recognized her name.

Did we not have a Tin Man or a Cowardly Lion the last time this show went to Oz?
Anyway, it was nice to see Zelena had a friend. And she was willing to be his friend again.
I never thought I'd see the day. Snow doesn't care about how nice the setting is for the wedding, but David does?
Belle was so nice to take care of Robin. For all of Zelena's faults, she does care about Robin.
The references to "dwarf tunnels" make it sound like they're pests or something.
The Mother Superior is in Gold's pawn shop. Did they call her Blue? I went to a school from third grade to sixth grade where the colors were Blue and Gold.

It was interesting to finally see the story of how Rumplestiltskin was born. And now we know where he got his name. His father didn't think he should have a name people could respect. Or something like that.
At least we know the Black Fairy wasn't always evil and she had the best of intentions. But when she wouldn't give up her power, I thought of Rumplestiltskin. And Gold admitted to his mother he had done the same thing she did.
That wasn't nice of Gold to tell everyone the threat was over and never could come back.
At least we had some funny moments in this episode, most related to Zelena learning to drive. Why put her in a car with manual transmission? It's hard enough to learn to drive to begin with. Yes, I know, a manual transmission is funnier.

I wonder where they got that odd looking car for Selena. She would have attracted a lot of attention driving that around New York. I should not have laughed when she hit the Black Fairy with the car, but it was funny. I enjoyed learning about Rumple's birth too, but I am curious if the writers recently came up with that idea. KyleEl I hope you come across an article during your library visits. No wonder Henry's attempts to write "Emma won the final battle" kept disappearing from the book; Emma will not fight the final battle. I was sure Rumple had not killed his mother, but I do not understand why he lied to everyone. Nor do I understand his end game. I hope this cast can sing as well as The CW cast.

I hope this cast can sing as well as The CW cast. Well, three cast members from "Glee" were on that CW episode. I'm not aware any of this show's cast can sing. Kurt was on "Match Game". I didn't recognize him and I didn't hear his name when they listed who was on. Later I heard or saw more clearly who he was.

I mostly liked the music. Unfortunately, the villains tended to do rock. I would like to see Aeryn's reaction to this because I was under the impression she liked the show. And I know she wouldn't like the perky music.
Now everyone knows the truth about the Black Fairy. But somehow, everything worked out. Until the curse.
The wedding was nice, for where it was.
I saw a quote that could accurately describe what will happen if ABC cancels this show. I haven't heard anything. I also haven't seen any news coverage of this episode. I checked the decoy site but nothing there, even though it seems to be up-to-date.

If anyone noticed during the commercial break, "The Middle" is also doing a musical episode this week. Sue spent last summer performing in a musical show at a Tennessee tourist attraction. I forget whether it was actually Dollywood.

decoy.tvpassport.com/news/closing-book-season-finale-once-upon-time-wraps-storylines?subid=national-00001That's the only story I've seen on the decoy web site. When I go to the library tomorrow, I will see the TV section that might have this story. I can't read it because I haven't seen the episode. But I will know not to read it there, and will instead read it at home. I saw the Miss USA pageant first, and then there wasn't time to watch anything but "Elementary" and the first half of "Match Game". I did see the special that aired before the episode. They must be pretty confident last night's episode will not be the end. I haven't seen any confirmation of a season 7 but they talked like there would be. Miss USA has a lot in common with this show. It is about strong, intelligent women and a new way of looking at beauty. I prefer looking at physical beauty. And on that subject, the woman who was called "Bex" (Zelena) has great looking red hair. She was reading a question from a fan who called her Bex.

I did enjoy the musical and I was glad that the flashbacks showed how songs played an important role in the Charmings' lives. My favorite was Captain Hook's pirate song.

Comments about the FINALE.
I enjoyed the two-hour finale, and I am glad I started watching it around 6 a.m. instead of nighttime.
The way to defeat the darkness was a well-kept secret, but I like it.
Mr. Gold’s actions were the second biggest surprise for me. I did not expect him to kill the Black Fairy. In fact, I was shocked.
I cannot say I was shocked that Emma did something as stupid as throw down her sword.
I was surprised at the way things turned out for Rumple and Belle’s family. That never crossed my mind.
There was a lot of foreshadowing during the episode that now makes sense.

It was interesting seeing the characters not remembering anything that had happened, except of course for Henry, The Black Fairy and Gold. Seeing Emma almost wreck everything by not believing ... well, I've seen lots of movies like that at Christmas.
That was scary how everything was about to disappear in the land where some of the characters were. I finally had something to respect the Evil Queen for.
I've forgotten what happened to Gold and Belle but I was glad he finally did kill the Black Fairy.
