I want to give the episode kudos for the opening scene. In most shows I watch where Sodium Pentothal is given, the spy, agent, etc. has been trained to defeat its purpose. Jack spilled the beans on everything. The team members were in an uncomfortable position of uncertainty about who to believe and who to trust. They followed Mac's lead and the path led to some unexpected results. Riley and Bozer decided on their own to follow the money trail and helped to identify the mole. Jack was actually funny as he revealed everything. Bozer seems right at home in this organization. He's now showing us a character similar to "Rush Hour". I figured Nikki could be trusted but Jack had his doubts and that's certainly understandable. Sarah and Jack have quite a past and it certainly made things interesting.

Large BladeVictor certainly gave Mac and Jack a rough time when they tried to get him to the helicopter. It was sort of amusing because of the banter between Mac and Jack. The helicopter crash reminded me of the helicopter crash on Scorpion. Fortunately, MacGyver did not have to deal with a forest fire. The pilot made some excellent maneuvers to avoid the missiles and Mac ‘s quick thinking helped them to avoid a direct hit. As I watched, it seemed the scenes when they were trying to catch up to Victor needed better direction. The pilot was hobbling with one crutch; then Jack assisted her; later, she hobbled without help for a while until Mac assisted her; then she hobbled again without their help. The trek seemed strange. Also, she seemed to overdo the shivering when she had a fever and then she made a remarkable recovery. They have a new boss. I'm curious as to how Cynthia had a fever and yet Mac had to keep her warm. The idea of Jack being in charge doesn't make sense. He wonders why they didn't promote him but he doesn't seem like he could handle it. He does what he does best. Bozer was good in the episode. I couldn't believe it when I saw who replaced Thornton. William Shatner's nemesis from 'Boston Legal". He was about as sensitive as Donald Trump to this woman (as he was to everyone), and she gave him the treatment he deserved.

I was amazed the new boss liked Bozer. I am worried about MacGyver, though. She doesn't approve of his antics. Well, that's the whole point of the show.
It was amazing they figured out the corrupt FBI agents were from Philadelphia just from an accent.

I want to know what happened between Jack and Matty. Maybe he kissed her and she slapped him? The team works well and I hope the whole team remains. I think MacGyver is up to Matty's challenge. He gets them out of situations that a gun would not resolve. I am on Team MacGyver!

I really enjoyed the episode. The team had to solve a double homicide that would have fit well on Elementary.
Jack and Bower were observing MacGyver constructing a robot and Jack was complaining that it would lead to a robo-pocalypse. The robot sat up and scared Jack and he punched it. That was too funny.
I was not even trying to guess who the killer would be, but it immediately became clear when the person made his description too accurate to the original serial killer.

I thought the opening looked a lot like "Elementary". I was surprised they called the girl Caucasian because she looked black to me. And her mother was black. Even if she was mixed, somehow that should have been part of the description.
Bozer really seemed right at home in this episode. It's the type of case he would have investigated in "Rush Hour", I guess.
Matty still can't accept MacGyver's attempts to make devices out of whatever he can find. But he always manages to save the day when he does that. They do that on "Scorpion" too.

I never watched the new boss in anything else. I think she will not be as intimidating as Jack made it seem. Bozer has a unique skill plus he is very observant, which comes in handy.

This is a cute episode, but a little silly at times. I enjoyed the scenes with the bounty hunter family, the Coltons.

Those people had me worried, but our heroes figured out how to get out of the situation as usual. Still, they couldn't get the job done and money and personnel had to be wasted getting the job done they were supposed to do. Maybe they needed backup anyway.
I have a neighbor with a pickup with wheels as big as the bounty hunters had, if not bigger.

I really enjoyed this episode.
Bozer finally got his chance to be an international spy. He was thrilled even though the task was for observation only. While observing the lady, the team realized something was wrong and Mac tried to intercept the woman. She tossed a purse on the ground. When Mac looked inside, he saw a bomb and there were only five minutes on the clock. The team frantically drove to the safest spot they could, left the bomb in their van, and ran. The vehicle exploded and the police arrived, but Mac and his team ran away.
Cameras around the city revealed pictures of the four of them as the terrorists who detonated a bomb in the city. They needed a place to hide. Jack went to the place of a lady he met while he was undercover. She slapped him, then kissed him. Their relationship was funny to watch.
Mac and Bozer used their unique skills to help the team prove their innocence. Mac helped Bozer to create a prosthetic disguise out of ordinary household items. That helped them to fool facial recognition software long enough to get information they needed. Bozer’s antics near the end helped them, but I did not expect him to expose himself to that much danger.

I thought Phoenix was autonomous and not entangled in red tape. I did not think they would ever disavow their agents. I may be mistaken but haven't they brought that up before? It was scary that they were on their own, and I felt bad for Bozer, but as susual they came up with a plan and it worked. It was all very exciting. I didn't see how Bozer's disguise would work, because they looked like themselves, but they had Jimmy Durante's nose.' It was amazing how there actually was footage and audio showing they were trying to save people, not kill them. Something I forgot to mention last week was that I turned on the TV that was hooked up to antenna to set the TiVo to record an episode and Bozer and Riley were using affectionate nicknames.

I thought Phoenix was autonomous and not entangled in red tape. I did not think they would ever disavow their agents. I may be mistaken but haven't they brought that up before? It was brought up that if they were caught, they could never say they worked for Phoenix because Phoenix was a secret organization. So that made sense. In this episode, the boss was questioned by someone else and was "forced" to disavow them to keep the agency out of trouble. They are not as autonomous as I believed.

That was a good episode. I thought the reference to McGarrett was a joke, but at the end of the episode it was clear these were people from the other show. That concerned me because it could have been a crossover that required us to watch both episodes. I had to record this in the middle of the night because of the basketball tournament, and I was lucky it aired at the correct time.
If that was Chin, he sure is a different Chin from the one I saw in a few episodes many years ago. I don't ever recall seeing Zulu as Kono except in the credits, but she's a good character in this version, not to mention hot.
Jack got hung up on the birthday celebration, but they shouldn't get distracted. MacGyver's description of why he hated birthdays sounded like something Walter O'Brien might say. MacGyver's not that uptight.
I liked how our heroes were able to get to wherever they needed to, and how they seemed to promise they could help even though people had their doubts.
Bozer was able to make a contribution but Riley seeming to flirt with that guy was a distraction. Riley made a valuable contribution.
I should have said this about an earlier episode, but Jack likes Willie Nelson and so do I. "MacGyver" is a verb, according to "Jeopardy", meaning what MacGyver's talent is.

Watching this now. I like the way Jack and MacGyver approached the rescue operation. They were very confident and cut an opening in a wall by using sand and water. Riley took over computer operations while Bozer watched jealously.
Back to the episode.

I really enjoyed the episode.
Bozer administered first aid to a dog and became emotional about it.
Chinese Special Forces agents attacked Jack and Mac while they were on a rescue mission. They split up so Jack could track down the mercenaries and Mac could locate the scientists.
Jack engaged the mercs but they got away with some special bullets. However, Jack scaled down the side of the building and rescued the scientist the mercs had held hostage.
Mac located the scientists and decided the scientists could go up the elevator shaft to the lobby and exit the building. We did not see any of that because the next thing I saw, Mac and Jack were in a vehicle.
It was exciting to see Phoenix and 5-O battle the mercenaries and save the day. 5-O was very impressed with Mac and Jack.
Jack kept his promise and gave Mac a birthday party with a small group. The cake was decorated with a large paper clip.

"MacGyver" is a verb, according to "Jeopardy", meaning what MacGyver's talent is. I have used "MacGyver" as a verb ever since the original show. It is a common term in my area. Young people who never saw the show also use the term because they grew up hearing it.

This was a very good episode even though I do not know if the science involved is actually possible. I think Bozer's ability to use the data to create a bust was impressive.
Jack and Mac make such a good buddy team, it would be a shame to break them up. I hope the new boss does not try that even on a trial basis.
Mac's friend said he walk away without saying good-bye. Based on the way she looked at him, I think she liked him as more than a friend but they never took it further than friendship. (I am glad we have not heard any more about Mac pining for the love of his life.)

I agree Jack and Mac should stay together. Jack was as good as I have ever seen him and he and Mac just work so well together.
Bozer's bust was amazing. I've never heard the science on this show criticized like with "Scorpion".
I was lucky. One of the CBS stations I receive on cable, and the only one I get with an antenna, was showing a special about UNC in the Final Four when I turned on the TV I use when recording from an antenna in order to keep "Last Man Standing" so I could cancel the recording on the newest TiVo. I had thought that show was being pre-empted this week for "The Toy Box".

I had more respect for Jack's taste in music before I saw a Black Sabbath t-shirt, but it does seem more like him.
Mac is too nice to clearly pass as a hit man. But I liked the episode anyway. And the man in prison was quite a character.
I was confused as to what Riley and Bozer were doing, but apparently the case where Mac was being tested was the one they were working.
