I am so totally lost because there was such a gap between episodes. I had forgotten Wyatt was no longer a part of the team, and yet he is still part of the team. How Lucy's mom ended up being the villain I don't know. I don't even remember who Emma was. And I have to say I enjoyed the episode a lot less than what I am expecting from "Deception" based on just what I have seen of it.
I was worried what might happen to Marie Curie or what the world would lose. Irene I knew about from "Jeopardy". I was amazed they had that technology in World War I, but everyone else was amazed at what was brought in the time machines. I was also amazed these items were brought in the time machines. In "Seven Days", a VHS tape was destroyed by being sent back in time. It was pretty amazing to watch the people in 2018 trying to solve the problems. I knew what a second derivative was. That's basic calculus. I went through Calculus III.
I was worried when Marie and Irene saw the time machine. What might they tell people?

After reading your post, I decided it would be helpful to read a recap of the season finale. It does help although it does not mention Wyatt no longer being a member of the team. ew.com/recap/timeless-season-1-finale/

The War to End All Wars
I do not like Lucy being forced to kill a soldier who had not harmed them. When a fight started in a tent, I was shocked when Rufus threw a kerosene lantern on a man, but he was desperate to help Wyatt. Wyatt was outnumbered, but he fought well. We learned a lot about Madame Curie and her x-ray machine. I guess Emma and Carol used super strength to toss Nicholas into the mother ship so fast and they did not have time to kill the Curies. Nicholas Keynes, the soldier Carol and Emma rescued, was very important because he wrote the Rittenhouse manifesto. He is also Carol's grandfather.

The Darlington 500
I enjoyed watching Lucy, Wyatt and Rufus work together in harmony. I also enjoyed the story of how stockcar racing began. I have drunk moonshine and it was as smooth as expensive liquor. It depends on how carefully it is refined.
Both Wyatt and Rufus met racers they admired, but Wyatt’s idol turned out to be a Rittenhouse agent who was destined for a suicide mission. His death did not change the timeline because he was supposed to die that day anyway.
I liked Wendell Scott’s response to did he think the people would award him for winning the race.
It is ironic that I miss the team chasing Garcia Flynn now that I no longer consider him to be a villain. Now that Wyatt and Lucy like each other, will Flynn eventually form a relationship with her?
I am not liking Boss Lady Denise. I feel sorry for Connor because he did not understand what he was involved in.
If we were ever given a reason for Jiya keeping secrets about her seizures, I do not recall the reason. Someone in government would probably lock her away and force her to tell them everything she sees. However, I think she should tell either Mason or Rufus.

I liked this episode a lot better and was glad I chose it over "Deception". But "Deception" was exciting when I finally saw it.
I live where moonshine is made but have never drunk it.
Wendell was a real person. I have also heard of those real drivers Wyatt mentioned, and 3Sheets was related to one of them.
Wendell didn't understand "the nod", but I knew about it from "black-ish". But I doubt it was around back then.
When Wendell helped the group escape, there were mountains visible. Darlington is a real place and a major track on the NASCAR circuit, though I don't know whether that was the actual track yet. However, there are no mountains in that part of South Carolina. The nearest mountains are at least 50 miles away in North Carolina.
Where did Wyatt and Lucy hide in Wendell's car?
If Connor is the man who was arrested when he was getting ready to speak to a group, I don't understand what that was about.
I also don't understand the significance of the girl's seizures.

During the seizures, Jiya sees glimpses of events that happen in the future. They were beneath/behind the trunk floor in the fake compartment the drivers used to store the moonshine.

Hollywoodland
There were a lot of things I enjoyed in the episode and I was amused that the producer of the episode is named “Prediction Productions”.
I liked seeing the beautiful outfits they wore in the 1940’s and Lucy, Wyatt and Rufus looked very nice.
When actors are multi-talented, I appreciate seeing them showcase their other skills. I enjoyed Lucy singing “You Made Me Love You” while gazing at Wyatt. There will soon be trouble in their relationship. Maybe there is still a chance for Lucy with Flynn after all.
Rufus admired Hedy Lamarr and acted rather foolishly around her. It was funny when Rufus quoted “Prince of Belair” as one of Langston Hughes’ poems. (Hedy Lamarr was featured in a 2017 episode of “DC’s Legends…” titled Helen Hunt.
I smirked when Hedy Lamarr said Lucas Calhoun was “all hands”, but we already know Hollywood producers cannot be trusted around the ladies.
Now that Jiya is physically well, perhaps she can use her “visions” to help the team.
Did the team do something in 1941 that changed Jessica’s story?
History I did not learn included Hedy Lamarr and George Antheil’s contributions as scientists and that “Citizen Kane” was about William Randolph Hearst.

I had never heard Hedy Lamarr was an inventor. It was interesting to see how smart she was. I knew she was a beautiful actress and that was it.
I've never seen "Citizen Kane" but my first memory of it was the cast of "All in the Family" being excited about watching it. I think I had heard it was about Hearst.
I liked hearing Lucy sing. It's amazing that people remember lyrics the way they do. When I listen to radio stations that play the type of music she sang, they often have comments about meaningful lyrics. But I don't really hear the lyrics. On my Wisconsin station, Gloria Estefan's version of that song is the only one I can remember hearing in recent years.
I liked the Fresh Prince poem myself. He's one of my favorite poets. And definitely my favorite rapper.
I like the pretty cars. I meant to say that last week. The '54 Chevy was quite a common car, but the '53 Chevy looked almost the same. There weren't any '53 Chevys in the episode.
The clothes looked good. I was surprised they were told they'd have to change but men were wearing tuxes.
I didn't know the Hollywoodland sign was lighted.

I was so happy Wyatt found his wife but things are never as easy as they seem. And he should never have brought her there, but at least she understands his strange behavior.
Abby wasn't married. How does she have Franklin's last name? I have to find out if that was real.
And how did that girl know Lucy and why she was there?
I was relieved Rufus didn't do what was in the vision, but things still turned out the same.
That was a nice house the couple lived in. I guess there were people with money by that time.

I did it! I didn't think it was possible, but I watched both "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" episodes, the ACM Awards and this. I didn't even look to see what time I went to bed, but it was late. I did notice that Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson were singing a hit from 1993 and I did see Alan Jackson perform one of his hits with someone else. I had forgotten that there were going to be more, but Blake Shelton's was the only performance I actually saw other than the Alan Jackson duet. And I had lost anything from before 10:00 because I was at risk of losing more TV episodes if I recorded the whole show instead of manually recoding each hour. I have lost a total of seven "Kevin Can Wait".
JFK in 2018. It must have been quite a shock for him. And how must rap music have sounded? Benny Goodman was called "jungle music" and evil at the time JFK came from.
Nixon shouldn't have been on that coin. History had not changed. And they mentioned the Cuban Missile Crisis. Would any of us have been here with Nixon?
Jack sure was upset to learn about members of his family dying prematurely. And Rufus warned him, but Oswald knew just what to do.
I was confused that Jessica was going on a mission. Then I realized it wouldn't involve the time machine.
I hope Jessica and Wyatt can work things out. She seemed to want to give up but Lucy explained things.

The Kennedy Curse
"DC's Legends" brought Barack Obama to their time ship to protect him and "Timeless" brought JFK to their time ship to protect him. The difference is Legends has a device that erases short-term memory and Timeless does not.
Kennedy handled the situation pretty well and would have enjoyed being with the group that picked him up if it was under different circumstances.
I liked the special effects of changing the image on the coin.
There must be something significant about saying "Kennedy" looked like Ansel Elgort, but I do not know what it is. I loved Elgort as "Baby Driver" and liked him in other movies, but the actor who played Kennedy is Grant Jordan.
I doubt the bloodthirsty Emma will survive this season.
I liked the way Flynn casually sat next to Lucy on the love seat.
History: I did not know JFK had medical issues his entire life.

What's wrong with Pat Boone? I suppose it would be boring to hear him 24 hours a day but come now! Sinatra was popular then too and he's not boring. Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, the big bands. Before there were hippies the rebellious types were Beatniks who liked jazz.
"Work!" -Maynard G. Krebs
Now making sure to not let us hear the evil rock and roll is not a bad thing, except for Elvis.
I wasn't a fan of Robert Johnson's music but it was growing on me by the end of the episode. The music I liked in the episode was being played in the juke joint, and in the car where Lucy and Flynn were. I liked the boring music better, I will admit.
Wyatt should never have been by himself.
The best thing about the episode was seeing <s>that man who invented the time machine, whose name I don't even know</s>Connor (okay, that works on another site I go to), having such a good time.
I want to know how, after Robert Johnson was recorded, the music got to those who would have made the individual records. A black man would have a harder time doing that than a white man. Or was there a white man we didn't see who was going to take over the process from the man who was killed? Or was that man actually the person who was supposed to get it to the record company?

This was good. It was rather shocking the way the policemen treated the women who were marching. They were probably wife beaters.
I remember Emma now as the woman Flynn met in a past time and she betrayed him. I did not recognize her when she was with Lucy's mother.
They prevented the important part of history from changing, but a different lady got credit for the speech.
There is now an interesting subplot. Wyatt's wife's picture is on the flash drive recovered from Rittenhouse headquarters.

Those women wore such nice outfits.
I had never heard of this woman but I guess she wasn't real. Her contribution to history was gone.
I was glad the detective came through. She seemed like today's conservative women.
Wyatt's wife looked hot in her outfit. And now she may not be as innocent as we think.

I never gave a thought to Agent Christopher's background, but I would not have guessed she was Hindu. It seems travelling through time not only preserves the past, but also creates a timeline. Christopher remembered her conversations with Lucy and Jiya. Perhaps she already knew what would happen and that is why she was calm even though Flynn thought she acted strangely.
Jiya made no attempt at all to be careful about what she said. That was annoying.
Did Wyatt's wife say she was pregnant as a ruse to distract him, similar to what happened on "The Good Girls"?
