I've been meaning to say Veronica says "Archiekins" and "Daddykins". I remember those from the comics but it seems too cutesy for this show.

For reasons explained in the OUAT thread that I posted in, I saw a list of shows I might like because I like "Riverdale". They are totally wrong. These are NOT shows I would like.

Chapter Thirty-Two: Prisoners
SEASON 2, EPISODE 19 • NEW 4/25/18, 8:00 PM ON WNUVDT 54 • TV-14 • STEREO • CC
After an incident leaves the town on edge, Archie leads the charge to uncover the culprit; a revealed secret leads to a violent showdown; Veronica takes matters into her own hands when someone from her past comes to town seeking revenge. I figured with Netflix cancelled, it was time to take advantage of the free episodes while they're still free. This was one of the most unpleasant experiences I ever had watching a TV series. I know it's Archie, Betty, Veronica and a version of Jughead. That's the only reason I even bother. Veronica was quite good when she was meeting with the bad guy that she drugged. He has an accent and calls his daughter "Mija" like Ugly Betty's father did. There's no way his name is Hiram Lodge. He must have changed it in order to make it in the business world.

I am still fascinated by the show but I never expected it to be PG.

Chapter Thirty-Three: Shadow of a Doubt
SEASON 2, EPISODE 20 • NEW 5/2/18, 8:00 PM ON WNUVDT 54 • TV-14 • STEREO • CC
The town's mayoral race between Fred and Hermoine heats up; Hiram sets his sights on a new ally, Sheriff Minetta; Betty turns to Cheryl for help when she has a suspicion about the Black Hood; a mysterious message causes tension. One good thing about an otherwise terrible episode was watching Veronica interview people who might be able to provide funds for something. Also watching her and Archie kiss and take their clothes off and seeing her wake up next to him. Otherwise it was as bad or worse than the other one. One more to go next week.

I quoted the wrong post above. Now it is corrected and this one is correct. Chapter Thirty-Four: Judgment Night
SEASON 2, EPISODE 21 • NEW 5/9/18, 8:00 PM ON WNUVDT 54 • TV-14 • STEREO • CC
An incident at the sheriff's station triggers an all-out war between the North and the Southside; Veronica makes a devastating discovery about Hiram; someone from Hiram's past arrives looking for revenge; Betty comes face to face with the Black Hood. I liked what Veronica said. She asked her parents if they were trying to turn Riverdale into Gotham. Well, somebody is. This episode was as bad as the others and I see no reason to try to watch any more as long as I mark them so they won't be deleted. I found it interesting to watch Betty investigate her father, but then I didn't. That is such a beautiful school building. I hated to see the bad guys talk about doing anything to it. I was really surprised Weatherbee just showing up stopped them.

The Watcher in the WoodsRiverdale is one of the most interesting dramas that I watch. The only character who does not have a dark side is Fred, Archie’s father. But he was targeted first by the Black Hood serial killer because he is a sinner. The Black Hood called him an adulterer. Ms. Grundy was targeted because she is a lot of things, including child predator. Moose and his friend were targeted because of their homosexuality. Archie formed a watch group to keep an eye on the area near Riverdale High to prevent the Hood from attacking more people. He named the group The Red Circle. There were still some close calls. Kevin has been prowling the woods because it is popular for quickie encounters even though the Hood targeted that area. Betty was afraid for his safety and snitched to his father. Now, Kevin is not speaking to Betty. After Jughead got jumped by a gang called the Ghoulies at Southside High, he decided to sit with the Serpents even though he preferred to be a loner. There is a lot more happening, but that is enough for now. *** The Red Circle is a nod to the Archie comics and to the anti-hero vigilante called The Black Hood. I ran out of episodes of Alec Baldwin's talk show (not true but the only one left involves a Kardashian) and only had an hour so I couldn't watch a movie. All the half-hour shows are either episodes I might have already seen so I don't want to waste time on them ("Whose Line", "Two and a Half Men"), or the only episode left of a cancelled show. Oh, wait, there was "Jeopardy" ... I haven't seen the first "This is Us" and want to wait until I do to see the rest. So … I thought I would feel better about this show. I don't. it's interesting to see how things developed, but I don't find this show entertaining. I did like seeing archie meet Vernoica's parents.

Moose and his friend were targeted because of their homosexuality. As I recall Moose was with Midge. That seems "normal".

2.04 Chapter Seventeen: The Town That Dreaded Sundown
11-1-17
Mayor McCoy calls an emergency town hall meeting to deal with the growing chaos in Riverdale; Betty finds herself at the center of a deepening mystery; tensions between the North and Southside come to a head and leads to an unexpected showdown. I remember Mayor McCoy putting up the poster. I was debating about whether to keep watching or wait until next week. I happened to realize "Manifest" will return in a week and chose to watch last season's finale instead.

Not a pleasant episode at all.
Archie keeps getting in trouble for being a vigilante. If he's not having to deal with the cops or Principal Weatherbee, he's getting attacked by the people he pulled a gun on. And now he's to blame for no more football.
I really don't like what's happening with Betty.
The north vs. south problem is really getting on my nerves.
If they close the problem school, where are those kids going to go? Surely that would only move the problems to Riverdale High.
As I recall, Dilton Doiley had Archie's hairstyle in the comics.

Chapter Eighteen: When a Stranger CallsRiverdale was exciting. The Black Hood is manipulating Betty into doing things she does not want to do. When she asked him if she would recognize him without the hood, he said “yes”. I do not have a clue who it is, but he is dangerous. The boys from the south side and Archie’s football players had a big fight, but it turned ugly when one of the boys pulled a knife and cut Archie’s friend. Veronica then broke up the fight. Jughead survived the initiation to become a full member of the Serpents. They were not gentle. Veronica was thrilled that one of her out-of-state friends, Nick St. Clair, was coming to visit, but after a party in his hotel room, he tried to force himself on her. Later, he acted contrite and apologized at the Lodges’ party for investors. He then roofied Cheryl’s drink and was in the process of raping her when Veronica and the Pussycats became suspicious and intervened. They beat him up and stomped him. The Black Hood was angry with Betty and insisted she give him a name of someone to be executed; she gave him Nick’s name. I didn't believe it when Betty said Veronica had no real friends in Riverdale but we know why she did it. I thought the girls were too brutal with Nick, and now Betty has been forced to deal with Nick another way to save her friends. I did not like watching Jughead go through the initiation. This is one of those episodes that made me glad I waited.

It was because the woman pleaded with Archie not to kill the man he was beating up. Although that becomes irrelevant since Betty is having him killed.
I would have preferred torturing him in a way that didn't actually hurt him but made him think he would be.
