I may post tomorrow but I try not to except on Monday and Friday (or Tuesday in some cases if I'm not here Monday, or Thursday in some cases if I'm not here Friday). But I'll be in the mountains Friday and not sure about my Internet situation. Plus there are reasons I might not watch; see the Whose Line thread.

I was happy to see an enthusiastic Sherlock return home. His comment about the police doing an adequate job made me laugh. He holds Joan in high esteem demonstrated by telling Joan her being on the case was the only investigation that mattered.
Sherlock sincerely told the pregnant lady that he would leave if his presence interfered with her giving the baby to Joan. I like the relationship between Sherlock and Joan and I hope they never live separately.
I did not remember that keeping the tortoise was Joan's idea.
Still learning stuff while watching this show. Siphoning sand being at the center of a murder case was unique.

A weird thing happened to me when I decided to watch this episode after reading newspapers. I had been on a PBS station every time I turned on the TV for several days after a special on the life of Mister Rogers. So there was some boring woman reading an ancient document. I figured it was something like "History Detectives" (is that a show?) or something else I don't watch. And then there was Sherlock.
What's really weird is that when I saw the boring document a few minutes later, it didn't seem anything like what I had seen earlier. And it certainly wasn't boring at this point. I had forgotten, by the way, that I turned on the local news when I heard rain. But I had not recorded the last 30 minutes. I was switching to a new channel so the PBS station was gone.
I was happy to see Watson hug Sherlock but she still didn't smile, unless I just couldn't see it.
Sherlock's offer to leave surprised me. His father bought the brownstone for him, after all.
The pregnant girl said "you're hot and he's hot". One has to wonder why their relationship never reached that stage but I never wanted it to.
Clyde hasn't been mentioned in ages. The pregnant girl also mentioned the beehives. The show is back to normal! Except I don't remember Sherlock annoying Watson.
Yes, the police can do their job but would they really come up with all these ideas?
I was confused at the end. The man they were talking to had to approve what companies did and yet they referred to his employer as a company. He was a government official. Or was he the head of the company who was a suspect earlier? I don't remember. I have trouble with faces.

I also noticed they referred to the company he worked for. Sherlock had previously said the man had done a lot of illegal approvals for a company. I am certain that is what they meant but they did not make it very clear.

Nobody Lives Forever
It had been so long since we saw Alfredo, I thought Sherlock was having a flashback. Discussing Alfredo’s brother led to discussion of Sherlock’s continuing estrangement from Mycroft. I enjoyed seeing Mycroft and it is disappointing that he seems to be dead.
The case led to some interesting details about a study to prolong life. Using young people’s blood to make someone feel younger seems strange to me. Does our blood age as we age?
I think the scene at the laboratory was unnecessarily gruesome. I hate those scenes and turned my head, but not quickly enough to avoid all of it.
Joan acknowledged that Sherlock did not mess with her when he awakened her. Aw, he is being considerate.
I will be happy to see Morland return.

Sherlock still managed to annoy Watson by waking her up, regardless.
I hate the idea of Mycroft being dead as well.
Alfredo asked Sherlock to do something that wasn't right. On the other hand, Alfredo was owed money.
Something was said about Sherlock having money. Actually, I guess he does. It's his father's money. But he doesn't need to work. Except he needs to work to be happy.
And other than that I can't remember anything that happened and it's so late I really need to get off the computer to actually do other things.

It only 6:11 ET there Kyle. Right. If I was really close to 100 percent I would need to be already watching TV to keep from losing anything. I try to be off the computer by 5 on the three days of the week that I'm at home but it doesn't always happen. Some days I've had to do it by 4 to get it all done. Sherlock doesn't want an inheritance? Well, his father does own that brownstone or at least he bought it for him. I guess Sherlock's father is lucky he's watching the situation so closely. I never thought of Clyde as outliving everyone. I happened to notice Lucy Liu directed the episode. And yesterday I saw that pretty picture of her again in another newspaper's TV section. I've got to see if I can find it. If you manage to adopt, we need to get rid of these swords. "He reads a lot of stuff". I don't like all this weird stuff that is taking away from what makes the show good.

When I saw the title, "The Adventure of the Ersatz Sobekneferu", I just knew it was going to be a complicated case. Art forgery and forgery of antiques take a lot of time and can be dangerous. They must do it for the thrill as well as for the money.
It is easier for Sherlock to voice his feelings to Joan than to his father. Perhaps pride kept Sherlock from accepting the inheritance. It was offered to him only because his brother died. But it was a sign of good will when Sherlock volunteered to wait with his father until the car arrived.
It still rankles Sherlock that Joan had a relationship with his brother.
I do not want Moriarty to come back.

Art forgery is still art but the problem is trying to pass off your work as someone else's.
See my warning in the "Salvation" thread.

Why don't you want Moriarty to come back for? It would bring back some action that this show finally.

Moriarty broke Sherlock's heart. It would be difficult for him to resist her.

Doesn't he just want Moriarty dead now? I am not sure how he would react if he saw her in person. The head wants one thing, but the heart might want something else.

My TiVo said it recorded "Elementary" but it was "Salvation". I checked next week's episode because it has been my experience that when an episode doesn't air even though listings said it did, it won't record when it really does. I had to tell it to "Record again".

I'm concerned. I saw a crawl saying Spectrum could drop my CBS station. This is the first time this has happened to me. It's always dishes or some other service dropping a station in my area. Maybe they will resolve the problem, but the antenna I have doesn't pick up the other CBS station like it once did. I was planning to get a better antenna so I could drop cable (maybe) but I don't have time to complete the process. And you have to figure under the circumstances there is a lot of demand.
But I'm hoping the problem will be resolved so I won't have to see those crawls.

Charlotte was mentioned. That company was fictional and I don't think Charlotte has any companies that could be called "Big Tobacco". Philip Morris had a plant just outside of the city which they closed, and the people who took it over had a great idea that failed, so it's empty again. Kind of a shame to see Charlotte in such a negative light.
I also wondered why they talked about low tobacco taxes in Ohio when Virginia and North Carolina have the lowest. You want to smuggle, those are the states.
The president of the company didn't seem very convincing in that role. He seemed more like a middle manager who is scare of his superiors.
On the final episode of "Kevin Can Wait" that I saw (I didn't know I had already seen the series finale, with Chris Rock and Adam Sandler) Kevin's daughter and son-in-law moved out. When he found out his business partner had taken them in he called her a Benedict Cumberbatch. No, that was not a reference to her being a detective. He really was that clueless and she couldn't explain what he got wrong.

I enjoyed watching Sherlock with his father. At one point, I thought Sherlock was going to plot against his father, but he negotiated a temporary truce. Moriarity looks out for Sherlock, but I am glad she did not appear in the episode.
The amount of profit that could be made from illegal sales of cigarettes seemed unbelievable to me. It sounded like someone said $100 per carton. Maybe they were referring to a case of cigarettes.

I'm not sure how to explain that if you don't have it. Have you watched this past Mon episode yet? My post is above and I thought of more to say. It goes without saying, I suppose, but I sure like Watson's clothes. I forgot one thing and was reminded over the weekend because Charlotte got the 2020 Republican Convention. Washburn, the name of the company mentioned on the show, is the name of the former TV/radio reporter and the current Andy Rooney (occasionally) of The Charlotte Observer. Tonight's episode looks good.
