The weird dream thread

I was having surgery and I never got to the point where I was asleep. I kept waiting to jump ahead in time to after the surgery, but all that happened was I was aware that 
things weren't happening that were supposed to. I'm not sure if this was connected but I dreamed there was an awards show, and it was 25 years old, but the reason that showwas being shown was the traffic accident they were going to be showing, whose effects on one person were the focus 25 years later. Someone wished for a different reality and then we were seeing a world where shootings were normal and there were lots of cops and shooting was going on.

A man was having problems because of his dementia in front of lots of people. They were laughing at him but he was laughing too.

I was in a park and there were places I walked where I wasn't supposed to walk because there was construction or it was just a mess.

The high for the next several days was 1. Fortunately, the forecast low was zero.

I was in the mountains and went in a woman's motel room and saw a list of sermon topics. Then I saw she was getting dressed in what I guess was the bathroom. Or maybe it was like an apartment.

I was in a neighborhood that didn't look quite like mine and although it was Wednesday instead of Thursday, everyone had their recycling containers out to be collected. The man had passed my house but I tried to get his attention so my container would be collected too. It was very noisy.

Once again, I clearly remember that I remembered a dream, more than once. I just don't remember them.

So this is old.

In a grocery store a woman objected to my having two carts full of stuff and started putting her stuff in one my carts.

Phil Dunphy of "Modern Family" ... well, I forget what he did. Something about a line of clothes.

I wet the floor in the bathroom and slipped and my father was mad.

I could hear someone calling my name and when I turned to see who it was, I didn't see anyone.

I have been dreaming and forgetting the details when I woke up. However, I slept better after my clock radio came on this morning and I remember a lot of detail.

Denzel Washington, looking like he did many years ago, was either in a movie I was watching or making a movie. I saw him in person and many people were gathered around a car or truck looking at movie memorabilia in the back. Some were wearing green shirts and I was too but didn't know why, but I was glad I did when I saw the others. I walked down a road covered with oil due to some construction related activity and was glad I wore shoes I could mess up. There was no sidewalk but little if any traffic. I saw Denzel  in a van and he refused to quote his movie lines which were good advice.

I was at the beach and going through a building several stories tall which was like the Gay Dolphin, but there were different stores. I saw one, for example, with comic books which were old and in good shape but not wrapped or collectors' items. Downstairs there were restaurants and one was run by a blind person, or at least that's what I was told. I saw some people who for some reason reminded me I wasn't taking COVID precautions. On the way home whoever was driving was going a different way than we ever had before and I didn't know where we would end up. We went up a long hill and passed several Fairview fire trucks without lights or sirens.

I was shot at when being trained and while it hurt the bullets were too small to be anything more.

I was on an interstate highway and all the bridges in an interchange were made out of metal pipes and nothing else.

I lived in a dormitory but I was reluctant to come out since it was possible girls lived on the same hall. I was hoping it was an all-male hallway.

I was moving to a new house and I had to get some stuff out from under my bed after I thought I was through moving stuff, except my clothes were going to be moved later. I was going to have to get used to getting my newspaper in a new place.

A square building with a large courtyard was being worked on and I thought I was supposed to be involved in a meeting about it but I wasn't supposed to be.

My favorite NPR show made a comeback with new hosts. Not nearly as good.

All of this in one night so why not post it all at once? i think these dreams were all related.

I was celebrating Christmas with my family in a house I had never seen and we were about to open presents. The woman my father married couldn't be there but there was a journal I was supposed to write down everything in for her.

I went to a church that a relative of mine had gone to and changes were happening. After the service one woman said, "We're not going to sing the old gospel music any more." I realized I couldn't go back.

Some relatives of mine were in a car but I don't remember what was weird about that. I think some of them couldn't remember what they were supposed to do.

Some relatives of mine were sick but we were getting together anyway. For some reason that wasn't a problem for me.

A woman selling her product in a location were different people had businesses that weren't separate mentioned her disability and said she hadn't been able to stay in business but he was back.

Someone living in an apartment had a dog and it bothered me to be around it.

Some celebrity was in my house, which didn't look familiar, and was making a mess. I went in a very large bathroom which was almost empty and the toilet had been moved,
and boxes were where it had been. Someone dumped liquid right on the floor. Meanwhile, I had new neighbors and realized I might not be able to get help such as getting in
 my house if locked out, even if these neighbors weren't the ones who did that in the real world.

For some reason my husband and I had gone camping and somehow I was keeping him waiting while I was interacting with someone else.

I keep forgetting the details that were so clear when I woke up. So I'll just have to do something old.

I was walking on a sidewalk so narrow someone inside a house next to it saw me and was bothered by my being so close. Then a tiny dog was loose and its owner apologized. It was one of those breeds, though a miniature version, that is really mean.

I had one dream where the sky got darker than I expected and another one where I looked at the sun and shouldn't have.

I rode or drove from one event to another and was surprised to see hundreds of people lined up for yet another event. In a town that looked a lot like a town near where I live, Jamie Farr was one of many representing the military in a celebration on a street that was steep. I joined people watching along the side and commented that the street wasn't wide enough, so someone said it was time to tear down buildings on both sides, and demolition equipment started working on the building beside me without warning, without anyone telling me to stay away. I got hit with glass but it wasn't large enough to hurt.

I know I had dreams that were worth remembering but I can't remember anything now.

I do remember this one.

My uncle said the lightning was too close and we needed to turn off whatever we had turned on, in a house that was his but didn't look like his.

My church's former organist and choir director, who is deceased, came back although it didn't look like my church where she was in front of a group, something she didn't usually do.

Gina Rodriguez of "Not Dead Yet" showed me how I would be able to use a computer when I had not used one all day and the day was about over, in a room behind a door at a store like the Gay Dolphin, a door I had seen before but never knew what it was for. I had to see a comic strip if I did nothing else that day, because the comic strip would not be available the next day. I ended up inside the store when it got dark because the store closed and I had a hard time finding my way out. Outside there were blue lights which might have been cop cars as if something bad was happening. At another time I was in the store and there were several small restaurants. I still needed to use the computer and I ended up in a long hall where a lot of people were sitting, and two old men left the restroom. One was missing most of his face, as if it had been removed because of cancer.

And now I can't remember a recent dream.

But here's what I have the best memory of.

My father came out and said his birthday was the previous day. I had forgotten but he was not bothered.

Had a weird sensation that our home was full of tourists and our bathroom somehow was an outside screen door to let people inside.
