The weird dream thread

I know I remembered the dream when I first woke up, and I know I've had dreams that I remembered while they were happening but not after I woke up.

So this is old. Though I'm happy to report my church's organist and choir director was back yesterday, and possibly back doing her official duties last week (though I doubt it), but I wasn't there to see. The video of the service is up so one of these days I'll find out.

The organist and choir director at my church is sick, but in the dream she was back at church though not well enough to play the organ, and she looked a lot younger than she really does.

I was paying for something and the cashier said my grocery store card wouldn't work. I had to go get my credit card but I had to wash my hands first and I had to look in a fast food place for a restroom. I found one and did something else, but because there was no wall, I did what I did on someone's food and the person came back but didn't know what I had done. Also, I was naked.

I was in a restroom being interviewed but I don't think it was the restroom I was supposed to be in.

I've had so many dreams I remembered so much detail from when I woke up but not when it counted. No, I am so confident I will remember later. And writing it sown would just disrupt my sleep.

Had a horrible dream that my husband had died and I was relocating my life and all of my belongings to Tennessee to move in with my mom.

My father was a soldier standing guard in a ceremony where I was marching in a town, and his name was really large on his uniform. At another time some people I used to see when I would go to the mountains were eating, but not everyone in each family was still living.

I was with my father at a big event in an auditorium. We got separated because I didn't want to go up in a crowded elevator. Then I didn't have a cell phone to contact him and I stopped trying to worry about whether he knew where I was. I did need to get in touch with someone I went to high school with whose nickname was "Food" and I didn't know his last name (this wasn't true and in fact he is deceased). I did remember his name in real life. Outside a radio studio there was country music playing but none of the three radio stations whose logos I saw played country. I saw the old logo of the FM (not real) and one of the AM stations was daytime only and Spanish (the FM is Spanish). I was looking around a shopping center and considered going in a store that said Metallica on the outside.

A man was an immigrant and so was a woman. I think there were acting roles on TV or stage.

Too many nights when I know I had a dream and then didn't remember it.

Highway 52 was going east west and along a route it had not been. I was at a store on that road. I had information on a person that I finally decided couldn't be real because "General Hospital" had been  off the air for years and the person claimed to still watch it a lot.

I finally decided to have surgery. I was walking around the hospital and I remembered I'm not supposed to eat before surgery, so apparently that surgery will have to be delayed.

So many dreams I still remember when I wake up, and now I can't remember them at all.

So this is old. I thought I had something very detailed.

A map of an area where I go sometimes had a border for the airport which included a lot of areas that were not part of the airport. I had to conclude it was an area where noise was a problem.

I was watching a movie I had seen, but didn't remember anything because it had been so long. Part of what made it hard to remember was that I saw it in black and white and now it was in color. I also seemed to be in the movie. I was in a mall.

I was being given different antibiotics for different problems by different doctors. I hoped each one would know if there was a problem with mixing the drugs.

More nights when I know I dreamed but don't remember it later.

I do have this.

I was on a construction site and I moved some orange items (like barricades) around because I thought I was obligated to but I also believed I wasn't supposed to because I didn't work there.

I was in a motel at the beach with my parents. A train passed regularly with a very loud horn. Always going south, then it turned around and came back north and blew the horn again, then it went east and looked like it was derailed. And regardless of where it was I could see it.

Oh, in real life the beach doesn't have a railroad any more. They're hoping to restart it but it doesn't go anywhere near where I stay. And certainly doesn't twist and turn in all directions around my motel.

So many dreams that I remembered clearly until the time came to write them down. I hope this old one isn't one I already posted.

I keep thinking I'll remember it! Why don't I write it down when I first wake up? Because that'll disrupt my ability to go back to sleep.

So I had a very dear special church aunt in Maryland who was my mentor and a big sister to me. She unexpectedly passed away to what medical examiners say could have been
a heart attack or stroke of some sort after she fell. She unfortunately hit her head and passed away to 2022.

Fast forward to now, I've been having really crazy bad nightmares. In them, my mentor had adopted a little girl who looks a lot, my little reborn doll Dani.
My mentor apparently notices she's being followed into a crowded Asian restaurant in the Washington DC area and let's go of her adopted little girl's hands when she notices
the young man who is apparently very dark Indian.
Unfortunately, he brutally murdered my beloved mentor, and I'm in the process of investigating what happened, and I'm adopting her little girl as my own.
A very weird, strange set of nightmares that have zero truth to them

Last night I had a terrible nightmare which caused a bad panic attack afterwards:

I am cleaning out what I believe could my childhood home and I clearing out excess things that my mom and I left behind that we want to keep. My dad apparently is going through the house hollering my name and demanding why I am not answering him. I am meanwhile taking off old photos and random certificates of mine and he finally enters the room where I am in. When I finally try to speak to let him know I am in there, I cannot speak and he immediately starts choking me as I am gasping and I guess he managed to kill me because I immediately woke up startled and am trying to catch my breath and see if I can actually speak.

I don't remember last night, but earlier this week Donald Trump was wearing an orange golf shirt and voluntarily cleaning up a lake.

I was working with a woman who was writing about historical information and then I had some problem leaving and going back to my car. There was also a disabled person who was also keeping historical records.

I was run over by a train. There was enough distance between the tracks that I was between them, and even though the tanker cars were close, they were rubber.

Communion was a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread with lettuce and tomato. There was not enough turkey for everyone. I was looking at the completed updated edition of my grandfather's history book with a page torn out, turned perpendicular, that had a photo pasted on it.

I've forgotten a lot of dreams I had and remembered when I woke up but I have to share this one from a Facebook group. The person in charge was on vacation and dreamed that the group was taken over and became a political discussion group.

WSJK, a real PBS station in Tennessee, was somehow the way I had to find the train I was following. I was too late to get in front of the train but I found locomotives in the middle and while they sounded their horns they were not too loud.

More nights when I remember dreaming but I can't even remember the dream when I wake up. So this is old.

In real life the UPS driver is going to come pick up my package. In the dream I saw one and chased it but it got away and later I tried again.

The oddest sensation I had overslept to days later and my husband was asking me if I ever planned to get up.

One dream I do remember was about taking a shirt out of the dryer and not doing a good enough job of keeping the pocket from making contact with other stuff so I could use the pocket when I go on vacation.

In another I was in college and all I remember about the faculty advisor was she was a young Black woman. That's the only specific detail I remember about the dream. But there was more.

I remembered one dream when I woke up and there was something about the number 15. I think there was something about buildings on a college campus. But then I forgot other details.

A lot of dreams I remembered when I woke up but not later. This was the one exception.

A church I haven't gone to in 30 years was celebrating its 200th birthday so I decided that was a reason to go. Also, there was a big historical event being celebrated along with the church's celebration.

I do remember this. I was in a landscaping crew and one member had no problem with touching poison ivy. Actually, it wasn't. Oh, wait, now it is. The other wasn't.

I was in a choir and I couldn't get the words out that I was supposed to be singing, and I was looking at something I wasn't supposed to instead of music, and everyone could  see me.
