I enjoyed the episode very much and Roger was very funny. I wanted to see the fireman’s friends show up with the jaws of life to cut him out of the slide.
“So old”? Trish said he is 52. In a recent episode, someone asked if there was an older or more mature partner they could team Riggs with and Avery said Murtaugh was the oldest one they had. I was wondering how long Murtaugh could clutch the small protrusion on the car, which I think is for the satellite/antenna signal. That had to be difficult.
Ruthie played the role of an alcoholic very well. When she was in the jewelry store, I thought she was high until she pulled the gun out. She looked sober when she did that. When she parked her RV next to Riggs, it seemed we will see her in some more episodes. Perhaps she will be Riggs unofficial sobriety sponsor.
While watching the episode, I wondered if Murtaugh will be the thrill seeker for a while during Riggs’ attempt to stay off of the alcohol. I know Trish is upset about that, but I remember when the series started, Murtaugh was trying to live a stress-free life after his heart attack.

I read that "Magnum P.I." is coming back. I only saw a few episodes of the original, but I can't picture anyone but Tom Selleck in the role ... though if it's about a young Magnum like "MacGyver" is about a young MacGyver, I can think of one actor who might be good in the role. And right now he is Riggs and he's not going to be available.

Tonight on "Man with a Plan", Adam's father moves in with him. He has been upgraded to series regular. But Adam's mother hasn't been on all that much, so she might be able to show up as the woman from the jewelry store robbery again.

I wasn't expecting Ruthie back so soon. And she was on "Man with a Plan" this week, although they didn't really focus on her. The episode was about her husband not being happy because she was volunteering at the hospital, so he had to move in with his son Adam so he would be fed and have someone around. They taught him how to do things for himself. She was happy with her new life and he was trying to adjust. He has been a regular this season, but she hasn't, so it's hard to predict whether she'll be around more. Riggs found her son and that was good. But she wasn't happy with how he did it. I never saw anyone take a boot off themselves. And now she's gone, for now.
It was so funny to see Avery comment on his maniac. I believed the man was undercover, but he had apparently gone rogue and the ATF man wasn't happy. Wasn't Riggs dating an ATF agent?
I can't even remember what Trish was so upset about but it seems she and Roger have made up. I didn't like seeing them in that situation. But it ended with Trish dressed like her "Are We There Yet?" character.

I enjoyed the two captains lamenting the difficulties caused by their rogue agents. Riggs is by far the most unpredictable. When he told Murtaugh to shoot him, I wondered if Ruthie's comments had caused Riggs to feel hopeless again. That is why it made me laugh when he fussed at Murtaugh for pulling the trigger because I realized Riggs was okay after all. It was funny when Murtaugh taunted Riggs about dating Ruthie. I do think Riggs started drinking after Ruthie lashed out at him. It seems like Ruthie is really gone this time.
Murtaugh and Trish both have trouble admitting when they are wrong. Murtaugh's network all told him Trish is out of his league and he should do whatever it takes to end the fight. Trish apologized and planned a nice evening, but Murtaugh kept talking until he talked himself out of the house. I really laughed when he wound up having to sleep in Riggs trailer. It was doubly funny when Riggs made him play a game he did not want to play. That reminded me of Sheldon insisting his friends play that board game.

The shrink was in "Furious 7". See the Scorpion thread for why I mention this. I recognized her. I have watched all of the "Fast and Furious" movies. Right. I should have realized you would. There may be others reading who haven't and aren't posting. I missed the sixth movie. I saw it in the listings one day when I just didn't have time and just assumed that soon after the fifth one, it was the sixth one I had seen. But it was the fifth one that introduced The Rock and took place in Brazil, so I was lost, and I found out why when I looked at a summary. I don't know what this means, but Ruthie is on "Man with a Plan" next week. I saw scenes from the episode. She was mentioned this week but she wasn't on. The more she is on that show, the less likely she'll show up here. And without comments to respond to, I have a harder time commenting myself. I suppose Molly was not being unreasonable, but she didn't give Riggs a chance, and she wasn't being quick to forgive. I've already forgotten how she reacted to the truth about why Riggs broke up with her. Once again, Roger messes up a big event that Trish involved with. That was hilarious. I wonder if there was an actual implosion that was used in the episode or it was all CGI. And Trish tried so hard to make things right, and Roger couldn't avoid being a part of that. But she sure needed him later. The scene with them jumping out of a plane was great. Knowing they can't die makes that more enjoyable.

But she sure needed him later. The scene with them jumping out of a plane was great. Knowing they can't die makes that more enjoyable. I watched this episode several days late. I love the show, but I was playing catch up on some shows and just overlooked it. Molly was very hurt because she thought she had a special relationship with Riggs and he treated her the same way he treats other people - just walk away. Riggs did pick the worst time and place to apologize because he was distracting her. When Riggs told her about the dog, she did not blame him, but she said he needed to come to terms with his father because his father continues to ruin things for him. Then, she went in the trailer and shut the door in his face. I was so glad Roger did not belabor who was most at fault like he did the last time. Wrestling with the man and pushing the button really upset Trish, but they were just doing their job. I like Trish's boss and was glad he was not doing anything illegal. Her job does not seem to be in jeopardy. I enjoyed all of the airplane scenes. I did not think they would jump out of the airplane without a parachute, but it certainly was exciting. Murtaugh's argument with Trish started because he wanted to continue to seek thrills and do dangerous stunts. I think she has forgiven him because he was fearless when he thought she was in danger. Riggs and Murtaugh's living arrangement was driving Riggs crazy. Scorsesee was thrilled at the prospect of having a housemate. He must be lonely, but he might have to get rid of the cats.

I happened to look at the date, which I don't always do. This was a rerun.
Ruthie was on "Man with a Plan" and she had a joke which might work here too. Not that they could do it now. But she criticized her husband for messing up celebrating her birthday every year during her 40s. He had one more chance to get it right.

Another episode featuring Ruthie. There was a disagreement over which grandparents to spend Easter with. And no, they couldn't have both sets of grandparents there because they couldn't stand each other. This seemed to have begun when Ruthie and her husband claimed the names "Grandma" and "Grandpa" when the first grandchild was born, leaving the others to be "Nana" and "Pop-Pop", store brand names. "Pop-Pop" was the head coach on "Pitch".
In my Sunday paper a Visionworks ad has a woman who looks like the shrink, even wearing similar glasses.

I had a hard time learning to drive myself, and didn't do a lot of driving for years. I couldn't possibly do it if I had to be as aware as Roger was trying to make Riana. It seems nearly everyone goes through that on TV.
I need to move this show lower on my list of favorites because where I listed it was based on when it was funnier. Riggs is still funny, like when he showed up at the crime scene with the giant gun, but there seem to be fewer funny scenes.
That was scary what happened to Roger when Riana was born. I thought it was funny when he told her that her mother wanted the name Riana but that wasn't going to be her name. Roger should have never gone in without backup.
Riggs' father promised to get back to him, but he would have had to do it fast, and apparently he did.
I hope Riggs gets his father moved, but I'm not optimistic. If it's a federal prison I'm surprised he got to stay in Texas.

Although people make solitary confinement seem like a terrible punishment, it seems safer than being in general population. I am sure it is tough for a man like Riggs' father to apologize, but he has made a lot of effort to have a relationship with Riggs. I hope Riggs helps him.
I thought it was funny when Roger showed Riana the video and he was talking on a cell phone while driving.
I could not sympathize with the soldier because he shot the officer who was sitting in the patrol car. That was not absolutely necessary.
I agree it is not as funny as it used to be, but I still enjoy it.

Clayne Crawford directed tonight's episode. There is some gossip that he creates a hostile work environment, but no one said it was because of the way he directs.

I liked Riggs. He was in the episode more than I expected because he spent time directing it. I think he overdid it when he arrested the coach, but that's Riggs. He knew he would catch the 20 year old in the bowling alley because there was no place to run to.

I thought arresting the coach was going too far, but then this is why we like Riggs.
Riggs makes a good father, but even he couldn't turn the boy into a good player.
When Riana's friend nearly fell, that didn't look like a real person. But a stunt woman could have just not moved, I suppose. That was scary.
I was amazed at the outcome. But what exactly would Roger and Trish do if she wouldn't obey them no matter what?
I really like the young Molly.

I like young Molly too. She was very nice to Riggs and understood his situation.
The Murtaughs are very lenient. I think it is funny their daughter likes nerdy boys, but her best girlfriend is a criminal and a constant liar. That's weird.

Family Ties
SEASON 2, EPISODE 21 • NEW 5/1/18, 8:00 PM ON WBFFDT 45 • TV-14 • STEREO • CC • DVS

It was so funny for Roger to be interim captain. He did a lot of things he wasn't authorized to and got his superiors mad.
I'm glad they didn't have time to get the kidnap victim dressed.
Unlike "Deception", it takes a while for the FBI to get involved. On that show, it's not immediately clear why the FBI would be involved.
That man did look like he could be Riggs' brother. Only he wasn't.
The stunt man did a great job. I thought I saw his face, but looking again, I didn't.
Now Riggs really looked like he jumped off that truck. So much of that surely must have been done with visual effects, it was so dangerous.
I was surprised Riggs let his father be moved, and surely he wasn't going to do anything that would let him get out. Though he wouldn't necessarily be safe if he did.
It was disturbing to see Trish and Roger smiling and laughing at Riggs' misery.

KyleEl Are you talking about Riggs' father's son? One of the bad guys. On SNL, Pete Davidson announced that Colin Jost and Michael Che will host the Emmys. Why, he asked. Were they looking for the less entertaining version of Riggs and Murtaugh? But they have nothing in common with Riggs and Murtaugh except one is white and one is black. Colin is like Avery and Michael is Scorsese with better hair. Also, Donald Glover hosted. He admitted to being Danny Glover's father.
