I saw a newspaper article on Wednesday but don't know how to link to it online. If it even is still there, a subscription is required to see it on the newspaper's web site. Next week I will try to remember at the library where I usually look at this paper and I will see if I can find it online.
Shaun was right. What if the thief had thought he was going for a weapon? He wasn't thinking.
Shaun had an easier time than I would have thought admitting he was wrong. It's okay to be wrong occasionally, though the doctors do tend to get yelled at when they are.
Shaun still needs Dr. Glassman's help.
Claire was being like Frank Burns on "MASH", who wouldn't treat the enemy.
Lea needed to vent but she di respect Shaun's honesty.

When they say "Congo" I never know which country it is. More than likely it is the larger one.
I'm surprised Claire didn't think of looking for a mislabeled container sooner. They put that poor girl through so much, making her think she would lose her voice for nothing, and almost going through with the surgery.
Shaun always sounds like he's not concerned when he sees a simulation will cause someone to die.
That was amazing that they could actually practice and get it right. As usual, Shaun knows how something can be done, even if it seems impossible.

I agree Shaun looks unconcerned when he states a procedure will not be successful or “He died.”
I was not at all sure the surgery would be successful even though they did everything they could. Their 3-D practice method was also used on “Pure Genius”. Whoever designed that method was a genius. Drs. Melendez, Murphy and Unger make a good team.
Shaun’s observations of the characteristics of flirting led to some embarrassment for Dr. Claire Browne, but she later became aware she was doing exactly what Shaun observed.
Claire does not seem to be in trouble for saying “I’m sorry”, but that might come up again because the patient is suing the hospital.
When Shaun criticized Lea’s sweater, I was confused until I realized he was trying to practice flirtation by saying the opposite of what he meant. It must have worked because she invited him in.
It looks like Shaun is going to be in major trouble next week that Dr. Glassman might not be able to dismiss. I am excited to see it.
p.s. On the link you posted, the person wanted to know if the actor, Freddie Highmore, is really autistic or just acting like he is. Highmore is giving an excellent performance.

I figured Highmore was just acting. Now Chris Burke in "Life Goes On" really has Down's syndrome. Also Becky on "Glee". And Micah Fowler of "Speechless" really has cerebral palsy.

It's a shame, but I choose "Scorpion". I can't stay up late enough to see this, but it's on too late to see earlier. I'll take time tomorrow night. I'll have to. But I have newspapers to read. I guess I'll catch up on those during Christmas.

This was a very interesting episode because they covered multiple issues and, in my opinion, many of them did not end satisfactorily.
Dr. Harper was in a very good mood when he had the three surgeons draw a procedure from a hat. It seemed fair enough and should not have led to the life-altering consequences.
Shaun’s conversations with his patient, Robert Ato, reinforced his desire to make his own decisions and not have a caretaker or a therapist. Shaun kept telling Dr. Glassman he did not want a therapist and slept at the hospital to avoid the therapist. Dr. Glassman kept pushing Shaun until Shaun snapped and he has moved out of his apartment. Dr. Glassman is worried and does not know where Shaun is. Maybe Shaun moved in with Lea.
Dr. Melendez’ dinner with Jessica and her father did not end well. Neil was very tired after the surgical procedure and responded tartly to the father when he brought up an awkward topic of Jessica staying home when she had babies. The next day, Jessica revealed to Neil that she does not want to have children. He was stunned, but I do not know what effect that will have on their relationship.
Dr. Coyle was the resident Claire worked with. He massaged her back in an inappropriate manner and she did not like it. Later, after the procedure, he asked her to have a drink with him and she declined. He persisted and they exchanged angry words. Claire told Jared about each incident, and told him she did not go to H.R. because they would label her as troublesome. Jared was upset and pushed Dr. Coyle against the lockers and promised retaliation if Coyle bothered Claire again. I do not like the way that ended.
During the surgical procedure, Shaun announced calmly, “Robert Ato is dying.” Of course, I was amused at the way he announced it.
The series returns January 8, 2018.
p.s. It was nice to see Jason/Jianyu as Robert Ato. He played the role very well.

And I didn't even bother to look at the listings. I was able to watch this on Monday after all.
I guess we were going to see Shaun react like that sooner or later. It's a shame Dr. Glassman pushed so hard because this is not going to work for Shaun.
When the idea Jessica would have kids was brought up I assumed it had been decided she would. However, I also knew not having kids was an option. I just figured if that's what Jessica wanted, her father wouldn't have said that.
Shaun did point out to Claire that she was flirting, and while I'm not certain she did that, it wouldn't have mattered. Dr. Coyle shouldn't have pushed so hard.
I thought what happened to Jared was too harsh. I'm hoping that can be reversed. It did remind me of Jack and Riley's father on "MacGyver".
Ending the episode that way when it won't come back for a while was pretty unpleasant. But it does guarantee people will want to come back.

On last night's "Simpsons", Bart was missing and many people were looking for him. included were a group of prison inmates already on a work detail. The man in charge of the inmates, when it appeared likely that Bart wouldn't be found, said "Bart is dead" in a way that reminded me of Shaun.

I am glad Shaun went on the road trip, but I miss seeing him use his skill at the hospital. Lea showed Shaun how to let go and have fun, but then she told him she was leaving. Perhaps she does not understand how sensitive Shaun is to loss. He became distraught and left the diner. Later, we saw him sitting at a bus stop and listening to the song Lea likes.
Dr. Glassman is sincerely concerned for Shaun, but his position at the hospital hinges on getting Shaun back on board.
Claire threatened the doctor who had the altercation with Jared and he retracted his complaint. Dr. Melendez said good things about Jared, and I thought everything would work out for Jared’s return. I do understand and cannot criticize Dr. Andrews’ decision. I wonder what Claire will do now.
It is interesting to me how excited the doctors become when they have an opportunity to perform rare and intricate surgical procedures.

I didn't like him until that one episode. I thought he had promise and it would be a shame for what happened to end his career. Now Lea understands exactly what Dr. Glassman's role is in Shaun's life. It's a lot like Cabe and Walter on "Scorpion". I liked seeing Lea and Shaun on their road trip. I will miss Lea if she leaves. She really shouldn't have taught him how to do anything other than drive sensibly. Given her job, I'm surprised she couldn't fix the car, but maybe she needed a garage to do it. For some reason there were sitting on a '67 Ford pickup. Kevin on "Kevin (Probably) Saves the World" drives a '69 Ford pickup. Back in the days when you could tell cars apart, I got interested in identifying them by year. The twins were so adorable. They remind me of JJ on "Speechless". While he can't talk, he is quite good at communicating his emotions. I'm hoping things will work out so they can both live. And I have a feeling Shaun's input will be necessary to make it work. The girl who is in better shape chickened out and had to be persuaded to go through with the surgery. Dr. Brown is quite good at that.

Of course, it won't matter for purposes of this site. I avoid coming here more than twice a week, although if I just post a few links and just say I'm not staying, it has the same result. I can't spend a lot of time here on Wednesdays but I'll have to see this show Tuesday because I'll be so close to 100 percent.

Islands, Part Two
I felt like this episode was full of mysteries because there was no way to tell if any of the drama would have a happy ending.
I was sure Shaun would leave for Hershey – at least for a little while – but Claire was persuasive and he remained. Shaun’s relationship with Dr. Glassman should run smoother because Dr. Glassman promised to stop pushing him to do something he does not want to do.
I really enjoyed the scene where Dr. Melendez and Jessica had a race to see who would fold the clothes the quickest. I thought everything would work out for them, but later she dumped him. I felt sorry for him because she acted as if he could just walk out the door and find someone to have a baby with. It does not work that way.
The twins – When the girl stabilized after being removed from life support, I thought that was great. In spite of their efforts, different organs malfunctioned. It was very sad the girl who wanted to go to Harvard did not survive, and I never heard what her twin wanted to do with her life.
I think Dr. Unger was right to get his job back by any means necessary, especially because the hospital did not fire other doctors who did the same thing. If he went to another hospital, he would have to start the surgical internship all over again. I know it is difficult to work with a boss who is really angry, and Unger will suffer for it along the way.

Shaun would not leave for Hershey. This show would change completely if he did, or at least if he stayed there. I like that Dr. Glassman won't push as hard. Maybe Shaun just needed to hear that.
I felt bad for Dr. Melendez and Jessica. I did like seeing her in shorts. Dr. Melendez is having Alex's problem from "Supergirl".
I felt so bad for the twins. It looked like the one girl wouldn't survive, but I knew how the other would react to letting her die, and that's just how the girl we thought wouldn't make it reacted when there was little hope for her twin. We were sent on a roller coaster.
I was pleased there was a way for Jared to get his job back. It may not have been ideal, but it worked.

I wonder if the title "Seven Reasons" is alluding to the subject matter in Netflix's popular original series "13 Reasons Why".

Melendez messed up, or maybe he didn't. At least Jared was there to catch his next mistake, which may have been compensating for what he thought was his mistake. he shouldn't be distracted by his breakup.
I couldn't believe Shaun accused the woman of being a terrorist.
They were able to get along with the doctor who was being punished, but that almost didn't work.
I want Shaun and Dr. Glassman to continue their relationship, but Dr. Glassman may have gone too far not helping him.

Melendez messed up, or maybe he didn't. At least Jared was there to catch his next mistake, which may have been compensating for what he thought was his mistake. It was determined Melendez did not make a mistake. The chemicals in the woman's system caused the puncture. I agree Melendez might have been compensating for what might have been a mistake. I am glad Jared had the courage to change the procedure instead of waiting for Melendez. I guess we did not interpret the scene the same way. Shaun was badgering Melendez with inappropriate questions about his break-up. Even though he did not receive a response, he kept asking. If Melendez was distracted, it was Shaun's fault, not because of the break-up. The topic could have been anything distracting, but it just happened to be the break-up this time. I think if Melendez ex had handled the situation in a less accusatory manner, they might have been able to try again. Shaun should not have done that. He said he was not prejudiced, but he did jump to the wrong conclusion. He was so sure the patient was lying, he was unmoved by the distress he was causing her. Shaun is the only intern who is blunt with Melendez. He told him he should say "thank you" and he did - reluctantly. I am not happy with the way they left it. When Shaun left the office and Dr. Glassman called his name, I do not know what he could have said to make the situation better. I feel like he has abandoned Shaun and Shaun does need a friend. *** The one scene that made me laugh was when the new neighbor opened his door and cordially invited Shaun in for a beer, Shaun declined and walked away. That was funny because Shaun had knocked on the man's door, but walked away without explanation. The neighbor seems like a good-natured chap to me.

It was later in the episode when I concluded Melendez had been distracted. I had a scare recently. "Scorpion" and the CW affiliate's 10:00 newscast were recording. Actually, "Scorpion" might not have been. But this show did not. What I discovered when I went to check was that this show had not started. It's a bad idea to start a minute late. If I'm looking to see what's on, I might not bother to look at what's on a minute later. I might just see that nothing is on at the time on the channel. But if the show is set to record every week, it will. This show was obviously not on, or it was a rerun, last night.

The shows that sometimes start one minute after the hour caused me issues in the past when the first two episodes in the queue would record, but not the one that started a minute later. The rerun last night was the one when Shaun and Claire were under pressure to transport an organ (kidney, I think) to the hospital.
