great episode but that guy who fired Supergirl is a dummy. That was the President of the United States. Wow, this show can occasionally be realistic. This man's attitude toward aliens is so much like Trump's toward foreigners. It's a shame Supergirl can't work for the government anymore but did Superman have anyone to answer to? It's good that Lockwood is locked up but his supporters could cause trouble. This is disturbing. On the other hand Nia's storyline was lighter, at least when Brainiac was involved. He was funny once again. I was glad J'onn was able to stop Manchester. I was confused when Kara couldn't use her powers or admit to having them, but then I realized Nia doesn't know. I like seeing Brainiac's attempts to be cool when he is around Nia. I laugh every time I see him miss leaning against the sofa and slide down to the floor. When Brainiac first encountered Nia in the coffee shop, I thought he acted smitten because he was attracted to her. During this episode, I realized it is more like hero worship, similar to the way he acted when he met Supergirl. Brainiac referred to Nia as "Nurl" or something similar. What was the significance of that? Supergirl and Brainiac work well together and I hope to see more of them together in the field, in spite of her being rudely dismissed by the president. I still like Manchester and hope he has a redemption arc. He did really make Supergirl angry and she is not a forgiving person. I enjoyed seeing J'onn phase through walls to talk to Manchester, but when Manchester was with Agent Liberty, J'onn could have caused him to get killed.

I heard somewhere journalists don't get thrown into black vans and kidnapped. They didn't mean James.

On that episode where Lena was doing the experiment I remember being surprised the subject of the experiment was expecting the scientist to be a man.

Nothing?
I don't like how Supergirl is being treated by the colonel. J'onn seems to have solved a real problem with the colonel. How he can erase specific memories I don't understand. making the colonel forget what happened in the last 24 hours might have been easy.
When it was stated DEO employees who knew about Kara would have to have their memories erased, of course that didn't include Brainiac who could make himself forget, or Alex. No, actually, it did include Alex and that makes me very sad. But how J'onn can remove all that specific information is beyond me. Alex has known about her powers for years.
Brainiac was funny, He's the best thing about this show right now other than Supergirl saving people. I liked his date with Nia and the music in the restaurant, which was certainly better than the junk playing with the exercise class.

Blood Memory
SEASON 4, EPISODE 11 • NEW 1/27/19, 8:00 PM ON WNUVDT 54 • TV-PG • STEREO • CC

I thought the drug that gave humans strength fueled by rage was something Lena made, but they did not say that. The guys who were selling the drug seemed surprised by the effect it had. Supergirl did not have any problem controlling the people who had super strength.
Alex will be angry with Supergirl for a long time for burning her hand. I think Jon did the right thing when he did not tell Alex about the memory wipe. The way Alex is acting is making it difficult to trust her reaction. I blame it on her hair cut.
I adore Brainy and I enjoyed his frat boy persona.
I am not surprised James killed the story about L-Corp.
Supergirl has a girlfriend she can be honest with about her identity.
I like seeing scenes about the alternate Supergirl, and it seems those people will be contacting our Supergirl either next episode or very soon.

How in the world did that other Supergirl give the guys' drug super powers?
I knew I wasn't going to like what happened to Alex but it's a good thing "God Friended Me" wasn't on because I just had to see this. I hated to see Alex like that, and criticizing Supergirl. And missing those important memories that made her who she was. And "Rent" turned out to be three hours, not two. Like the people in Nia's town in this episode, "Rent" was about people who are misunderstood and treated wrong.
I wasn't as happy with Brainiac this week but he was funny for a while.
It's a shame James did what he did because as a journalist he has a responsibility. But he has a relationship with Lena and doesn't want to hurt her.
I liked that Kara could be honest with Nia.
That was so sad about Nia's mother but what happened with her sister was pretty bad too. I was surprised only daughters get the "gift" when Nia is transgender and was born male. And it was particularly bad that the bigots showed up in Nia's town and started trouble.
I was reminded of this episode when I watched "Single Parents". Will's ex wanted to get back together but she was committed to helping the less fortunate in Latin America and it would have meant doing without devices and even refrigeration. But refrigeration is bad for food, she said. That's even worse than Nia's family!

I totally missed a connection between the other Supergirl and the drugs, probably because I was not focused at the beginning of the episode. . It does not make sense to me that a transgender person would receive the gift if only females are born with the gift. I think it was a subtle message from the writers/producers.

I was relieved there was not a new episode because I had so much to record. Over the weekend I saw the American Music Awards and Taylor Swift was on at the start. She has long hair again but not the style Supergirl has, although they did show that style when they went back and showed Taylor at various stages of her career.

Menagerie
SEASON 4, EPISODE 12 • NEW 2/17/19, 8:00 PM ON WNUVDT 54 • TV-PG • STEREO • CC
J'onn welcomes clients to his new office; Kara teams up with J'onn on an assignment, which unfortunately ends up tying directly into Alex's current investigation involving the villain Menagerie; Nia invites Brainy to her Valentine's Day party.

Very good episode. The symbiotic creature chose the right person to bond with - a woman who was happy to be powerful so she could continue her crime spree. The serpent-like creature can probably regenerate over time and start to kill again. I think that because it was active under the woman's skin while she was in prison.
I finally understand why the president and Alex's boss do not want Supergirl's help. They want to prove that humans can protect themselves without help from aliens.
James should have kept his mouth shut until they returned from Paris. Talked himself out of an expensive romantic trip.
I enjoyed Brainiac trying to do the appropriate thing concerning Nia. Nia's roommate was bossy and unattractive.

I enjoy it when Kara has to be sneaky when using her powers around Alex, like when she used super breath to blow the serpents across the room and she used her vision to find the safe in the house.
Nia was very helpful during the fight with the symbiotic woman. I liked the way she conked the woman on the head and knocked her down. I need to look up her superhero name.

Nia came through. She'll make a good superhero.
Supergirl is the reason Alex can't adopt or stay in a relationship? I don't know. She has a very demanding job. Even without Supergirl, now she seems to have to protect Kara. I was happy Kara found a way to work with Alex but that won't work.
I don't like Nia's roommate.
I'm content with James and Lena breaking up. I never liked them together. We were reminded she's a Luthor so we just can't trust her.
I think the writers are commenting on Trump and his supporters.
