After the FireRandall shared his vision of how life would be if he heroically stopped Jack from going back into the house. The first thing that happened was Rebecca confessed she had met Randall's father years ago and both Jack and teenage Randall were upset with her. Jack took Randall to see his biological father and they bonded. It was wonderful. The therapist challenged him about his description and Randall started over. He once again heroically saved his father and again Rebecca confessed what she had done. This time Randall did not paint a rosy picture. He was a bitter young man and grew up to be less than honorable. Both fathers gave into their addiction and his brother did not become a movie star. The acting was stellar and downright convincing, but the story was mostly sad. I thought the first version was too perfect. I thought it was what I wanted but the entire series has been like the version where George Bailey was never born. Fortunately, we got a version where George Bailey was never born, and what we have actually had was better. It did give me pleasure to see Jack living, and it was nice to see all those things happen in the first version. In the second version, I thought Randall was too hard on Rebecca. Sure, when he first came home, he probably should have still been a little mad. It was obvious he had no reason to stay around and he never met Beth. But all those years later, he should have forgiven Rebecca. And he was distant from the family, and not that nice a person. And where were Randall's glasses? I guess he would have worn contacts. It seems consistent with being a ladies' man. I noticed Rebecca wore glasses when the first grandchild was born. So Kevin never became an actor. I guess he was working with his father. It was never explained why Kate already had children. And at the end of the episode Rebecca agreed to the trial. I guess this is what upset Kevin so much. I guess if any episode gets award nominations it will be this one. Broadcast TV doesn't get honored much any more, though. Acting and writing worthy of honors doesn't mean I liked what I saw. On the Food Thread I have my own George Bailey moment.

Strangers: Part TwoI had been waiting for the fallout from Randall's insistence that their mother accept the medical trial, and I enjoyed the drama. Kevin and Randall: Harsher words were never spoken. There is no coming back from that. Kevin and Madison: Life takes strange turns. Kate and Toby: Have mended their relationship and are ready to extend their family. I didn't enjoy the drama. I don't think this is something that should have made the brothers treat each other like that. Rebecca made her decision. It was nice watching Kate and Toby at the hospital and I was surprised they want more kids. By the end we know who the girl at the museum is. I saw her name in the credits and know that she is also Mary Queen of Scots from The CW and one of the villians from OUAT, who ended up turning good. It was also nice seeing the doctor. I've liked him in so many shows. I knew Rebecca was upset about the child who never lived, before she said anything. Kids that young probably shouldn't have cake. It was nice to see Jack Damon with his wife when the baby was born. I still don't know who the people with the horses were. I thought Madison's baby would end up being Jack's sister but the other future scene proves that wrong.

If I remember correctly from months ago, the people with the horse was the doctor and his daughter.

That would have been my guess. www.seattlepi.com/comics-and-games/fun/Funky_Winkerbean/2020-05-08/ I think I know what he means. I watched a special last night called "The Story of Soaps" and there were a bunch of clips from this show, although the show was never mentioned. I'm not sure whether they considered it a soap, or they were trying to list shows influenced by soaps.
