I didn't remember that Phoenix was gone, or if it wasn't, how were we supposed to know?
It didn't look like the show was going to be the same, and I was mostly disappointed "Magnum" wouldn't be on.
How can students in the back of that huge lecture hall possibly see anything? I never had a class in a room that big.
I was relieved the entire group was reunited, except for the fact that Desi was one of them. But I guess Jack is really gone. At least it was funny sometimes.
It turned out to be more like the typical episodes than I had expected. I think I can live with this new way of doing things.

I enjoyed it even though I miss Jack and MacGyver Sr.
Stopping the torpedo was interesting and exciting.
Russ will not be able to boss Matty around, but his attempts add humor to the show.

Matty wanted to approve and he just went ahead and committed. Big mistake.
My favorite thing about the episode was when they had an impossible job to do and Riley smiled and acted like it was no problem. That would be a perfect scene for advertising the show.
I don't like Desi. I don't like Desi's tattoos. I don't like Desi having a relationship with Mac. I don't like Desi no longer having a relationship with Mac.
Once the action starts, it doesn't matter too much whether I will laugh or not, or who it is doing everything.
Mac doesn't like being called Angus but he hasn't said anything.

I enjoyed all of the excitement and Mac worked well under a lot of pressure. Desi was very clever last season, but she seemed careless - too careless- in this episode. Her relationship with Mac must have happened in the 1-1/2 years off screen because I do not remember it. Mac has bad luck with girlfriends.
I do not respect the General for placing the safety of the country at risk and I was glad he went to prison. He should never get out.
At the beginning of the episode, it was emphasized that none of the team was in a relationship. I hope Mac does not get angry with Riley when he learns she lied to his face about not dating. Now I wonder if anyone else lied. It would be difficult for Mac and Bozer to hide a relationship from each other.

Kid + Plane + Cable + Truck
SEASON 4, EPISODE 3 • NEW 2/21/2020, 8:00 PM ON WJZDT 13 • TV-PG • STEREO • CC
MacGyver and the team are on a plane that's in the air when the pilot has a heart attack.

I loved this exciting episode. The child on the airplane was cute and very brave. As soon as they saw the boy, they became even more determined to find a way to land the plane safely. They need someone like Desi on the team. I do not know if she is a daredevil, but she is fearless in hazardous situations. Since Mac is afraid of flying, it took a lot of courage for him to volunteer to zipline from one plane to another.
I enjoyed Desi and Mac sniping at each other although I did not always understand what they were saying. They seemed to work it out.
It was awesome the way Mac kept coming up with solutions.
Bozer was brave and Matty did not seem too mad at him.
It was a nice scene when Mac retrieved the leather jacket. He looked very pleased. To be honest, I had forgotten about the jacket.

That was a very exciting episode. I only have one criticism other than the fact I don't like Desi or the talk about her relationship with Mac. When they connected the two airplanes, it would have been so easy for the boy to fall out. They should have somehow made sure the boy was securely attached to something. Which, unfortunately, they failed to do with the other end of the zipline.
I have to wonder how they do all that. Is that a stunt person or just a dummy between the two planes? When they show the actual actors, there must be green screens involved. And there must be sets that look like each plane that are safe on the ground and being shaken.
Another site I go to had numerous criticisms about the show. One was that Richard Dean Anderson acted on his own and was not part of a team. Another was that his show put more emphasis on the gadgets MacGyver created. The biggest criticism was that the science is all wrong.
I had no problem with Desi and Mac saying they were not in a relationship but would have preferred that never having been the case. No matter what, Mac can come up with solutions just like that. And things sure kept going wrong.
I thought the truck accident would just delay things but they lost the foam.
The man in charge finally got the message that Matty knows what she's doing.
Bozer was more capable than I thought he would be. They taught him a lot.

On that other site someone said this episode looked like it could have been a "Scorpion" episode, meaning the science would have been even worse, which is quit an accomplishment.

I am enjoying the rivalry between Bozer and Russ. They worked well together, and Russ' putting Sparky on e-Bay was a terrible prank. The bid was up to $200.00 for a $3 million AU.
I bet Riley wished she could switch tasks with Desi, but she never complained. Pushing that bomb upwards was a tough job, not to mention too dangerous. Then, there was a hole in the floor that they had to cross. After all that, the crane could not reach the bomb because a hose sprung a leak. Egg drop a bomb - but it worked. And Riley earned her merit badge.
I am glad Riley and Mac discussed their personal feelings and can now be honest with each other. It is going to be difficult for Riley to keep lying about her job.

"Family Guy" did comments at the bottom of the screen on Sunday in the same way this show does.
I fully expected people on that other site to attack this episode but the one person who commented said they went back to the old science. But even I have to say what they did couldn't be done. I didn't comment on that other site but there's no way they could have moved that bomb the way they did with real science. And with the amount of time they had left putting that bomb inside one of those devices like they used for the egg--couldn't possibly be done! With plenty of time, sure.
Even the way I feel about Desi, I really wanted her to get out of there, but of course with the woman rescued.
I was glad Bozer got to prove himself. I was not aware he was so valuable to the team. And I agree it was terrible what happened to his robot.
I liked the music in those scenes from the past.
It was all right to smoke? Surely not in one of those labs!

I know the team trusts MacGyver, but trusting Mac to build something to jam the signal that fast was too scary. Mac gliding onto the field was cool and their kiss on the big screen was special.
I do not like the way it ended. Riley should be able to detect if the picture was altered to look like Matty, but she looked as shocked as everyone else.

I thought that looked like Matty from the back but I just assumed she was doing her own scam that they didn't know about and that she was on the right side of the law.
I noticed Russ called him "Mac" instead of "Angus". I guess he got the message.
"Jeopardy", which I watched later Friday night, had a clue about anxiety relating to a penalty kick.
Weird how I remember so many Triple Crown horses. I see "Codex" and immediately think of a horse that won one of those races.
I did like how Mac disrupted the match. I agree disrupting the signal was taking too big a chance.

When Russ gets upset, he is quick to let the team know he is the boss. He made an amazing amount of money running private security for businesses.
I enjoyed Mac using the Kool-Aid reference to describe how they would break through a wall. It took a moment for me to realize what he meant.
Mac acknowledged that their job has changed. They used to go on a job to save people and that felt good. Now, it is no longer black and white.
Matty told someone on the phone that she thinks "she's back". I keep wondering if Matty is still in touch with MacGyver Sr.

Mac told Russ missions weren't the same. I agree. The whole show isn't the same.
I missed the Kool-Aid reference but I get what it means.
I was pleased they figured out that the woman in the photo who looked like Matty had been faked. Whatever is happening, it's not good.
We won't know what's happening for a few weeks because of March Madness. Which one source called March Sadness.

The brief opening scene was Mac and Desi on a date and they became involved in an international incident. Fun for them.
The double date turned into a rescue operation. I enjoyed all of the scenes where they took down the guys who were threatening them.
It is sort of funny that learning that they could not enjoy a normal date turned out okay for Mac and Desi.
Poor Riley lost Aubrey as a friend although she and her friends saved him.
Matty is still worried about the mysterious "her". It looked like James MacGyver was in a hospital bed.

Confessing worked out fine for Mac and Bozer, but not for Riley and Aubrey. I get the feeling Riley is going to end up with Mac. Wonder how Jack would feel about that?
It was funny that the man in the restaurant didn't believe those were their real names.
I wouldn't want to eat in that restaurant. Not enough of each kind of food and it doesn't look appetizing.
I wonder how Riley thought she was going to get the bank account numbers. I have no doubt she could break into the bank.

They have been trying to alienate Mac’s father ever since he was introduced. I was happy to see Mac was cordial when his father entered the room. I liked watching the MacGyvers defuse the bomb that landed on the truck. But I did not really enjoy the rest of what happened. It was rather sad to me.
Oh, I did enjoy Mac and Desi sparring at the beginning of the episode while people were betting on them.

I enjoyed watching Mac and Desi sparring. Mac is a science nerd, not a fighter.
I hated what happened to Oversight but it was amazing watching them do what they did. I liked seeing Mac and Oversight together.
I did not like Mac's aunt. I don't think we were supposed to.
And did we know Mac's mom was one of them?
And it wasn't as good an episode as they used to have.
