My tuxedo is 12 years old. His name is MooStachio because he has a milk mustache. He has 4 white paws, his tux and the mustache and the rest is black. He has a little trouble being a cat ... like he can't remember the rules. He hangs out with me a lot -- especially in bed. He's not a finicky eater unlike my other cat and he weighs about 20 pounds. I think he weighed more but he stopped eating for a while when he got a look at my wife's new dog, so he lost a little weight. Fortunately the dog and my wife live elsewhere so MooMoo can feel quite comfortable around the house.

Thanks Anti! ;D
How cute DH. So far, this cat has been very talkative. He trills when he meows. When I put him on my lap, he collapses against me and starts kneading.
He's already worked his way into my heart.
He doesn't weigh as much as yours, though....I would say about 8 lbs.

I'm sorry, SoCal.
I've never had a cat put to sleep. They always just disappeared or went to the pound when we had too many kittens. I didn't know what happened at the pound. I was so upset one time when I saw some of our kittens ride away in someone else's car.
We did find an abandoned kitten who couldn't escape a dog. Our cat did, and he looked sad after it happened. We had to give him away because he wouldn't even stay in the box to go to the vet, much less for a move.
I saw a couple of cats yesterday. But I can't remember any details now.
Either Mommy or Britney jumped in the birdbath one day this week. Naughty kitty!

Five of my cats are on the back porch right now fighing over who gets to eat a squirrel that one of them killed. Needless to say, if I'd been there the squirrel would still be alive.

I saw a kitten at my neighbors' house which looked like the veteran's cat.
I also saw the veteran's cat hop the fence.
One day last week I walked on a street where I was guaranteed to see cats. And I did. One yellow, one orange, one tuxedo, and a white kitten that sneezed. And a couple of others too.

Kitty City had a huge tuxedo cat. I had to look closely to make sure it wasn't two cats, one on top of the other.

I am SO glad I got a new cat immediately. He's so sweet and so affectionate. I had gotten used to my old cat's aloofness and standoffishness, and this one is more of a "velcro kitty." When he's sitting on your lap and you scratch his head or ears, he collapses into you. I loved my old cat, but he was more standoffish and independent. He was also not very vocal. This cat is extrememely vocal. As a younger cat *about 2 years old), he likes to play, too. The house seems complete again!

I'm glad to hear it, SoCal.
One of my neighbors' cats was in the birdbath over the weekend.
I saw either the same cat or another one in the birdbath yesterday.
Mommy came over for a visit and meowed.
I saw the veteran's cat on its porch yesterday. Appropriate, I guess. Ironically, the three signs in his yard and two others that showed a soldier kneeling at a grave with a rifle, with the words "Some gave all, all gave some", are missing now. You'd think yesterday of all days they'd have had them.

A Cat in the Birdbath!
Sounds like the name of a children's book. Get right on that, KL.
Maybe it was trying to cool off.....that, or drown a bird!

Sad news.
The veteran's house had a U-Haul in front last week. Now it has signs in front of the house saying he's selling his wood stove and firewood. And giving away his dogs. Nothing about the cat, but unless he's giving it to my neighbors who have several cats, I guess his pretty gray and white cat goes with him.
The worst part is that house was a party house for so many years. As far as I know, no one on my road is having parties this year. More than likely the landlord, who seems to own all the party houses based on the phone number on all the "For Rent" signs, is refusing to deal with people like that any more.
The only cute story relating to my neighbors is that one black cat was outside the fence and the other inside and they were looking at each other.
Well, there's also this. One cat jumped the fence but paused at the top.

My birdbath was in pieces several years ago and when I found it like that, Sassy was nearby looking innocent. It was old and already not in too good a shape thanks to college students who damaged it many years earlier. The rowdy college students knocked it over more recently and I hadn't already been broken, that would have done it and I'd have had more to say to the people in charge at the college.

I have a bird bath in my back yard that they seem to enjoy drinking out of a splashing around in. I've also got a dish of seed for them and a hanging basket of seed. I may be spoiling them.
I recently put up 2 hummingbird feeders which are very popular. I had no idea hummingbirds were so territorial. After feeding the bird will sit on a branch grooming itself and looking around. The second another hummer gets close to the feeder, the other will take off and chase it away, then come back and sit on a branch close to the feeder again.
My cat sometimes sits at the back patio sliding glass doors and watches the birds. So far he hasn't smashed into the window trying to get them, but he is certainly more interested in the birds than my old cat was.

Took my new cat, Sam, to the vet just to get a wellness check, drop of the list of shots and vaccinations the foster said he had had and get his claws clipped. WOW........was he unhappy!!!! He scratched me a long, deep one on my wrist and cried all the way to the vet. Then the room slowly filled up with dogs. After the visit was over, I gave him dinner, but he will have nothing to do with me. He runs whenever I try to get near him. Three weeks of getting him comfortable have gone up in smoke. I hope he forgives me and becomes his old sweet self again quickly!

Awww. I'm sorry to hear that. He must have been able to sense he was going someplace he did not want to be. He will get over it as long as you don't look like you are trying to take him for a ride. (My dog reacted that way, but not my cat.) I know scratches from a cat hurt like hell so it shows you have a kind heart ( although you do an excellent job of hiding it) to worry more about the cat than your scratch.

I saw a dozen cats yesterday!
The first one may have been one of the last three. The convenience store/gas station has regular gas for $2.82, so that tells you something right there. When I passed the place on the way home, three cats and a woman were sitting there. I passed a fourth time because fire trucks and cops were blocking the road and I had to take a very curvy detour. I considered asking the woman if she was just going to hang out there with the cats, would she please tell people not to take that road.
I didn't see Banjo, but there was a tuxedo cat in Banjo's yard who didn't seem pleased about being told how pretty it was.
I saw four other cats on that same street, and two on the next street. Plus one more, really thin, just before I finished my walk.
Edit: Now that was a big mistake.

Britney was in my yard and she rubbed against me. I'm not sure I've been referring to the right cat because she has those spots on her head where it looks like there isn't much fur. But she's fat and has the eyes.
Mommy has different eyes but she had lost some fur on her head.

Saw a scrawny little cat in my backyard. Being small doesn't stop him/her from stalking the birds at my feeders. Tried calling to him/her but he/she ran away. Awwwwwwwww.....

I saw several cats at the beach.
And yesterday I was walking and one cat squeezed through its "cat door" to get back in the house. The screen door had a hole.

I've had my new cat for almost a month now.
He's so sweet. He snuggles up against me at night. But downstairs during the afternoon/evening, he runs from me when I get anywhere around him.
Hope that after a few months, that behavior will disappear as he finds that he's safe and no one is going to hurt him.

One of the Britneys (either Britney or her Mommy; fat Britney hasn't been seen lately) saw the woman coming from the mailbox and headed toward the gate. The woman opened it for her and she dashed to the porch only to find there was no food!
Britney showed up in my yard yesterday and meowed, but when she tried to rub against me something made her flinch and she wouldn't continue.
I know it was her because I saw her eyes and she was fat, but not obese like her sister.

Britney has gotten comfortable with rubbing against me. Unfortunately, she scratched herslef after doing so. No kitties at Kitty City. Just a dog. But the cat whose house needs work was in a new place out in the sun. And it gets Fiji water. The bottle is turned upside down over its bowl. I saw one cat that I may have seen before but I'm not sure.

Have I mentioned lately that my new kitty, Sambo (Sam), is just the sweetest, affectionate and talkative cat?
He's a bundle of black fur and purr!

Britney slowly walked toward me this morning as I was getting out my rake and wheelbarrow. She flinched when I started coming toward her. But she didn't run.
I don't know what the point is in raking since leaves will just keep falling. And hardly any have fallen so far. But I feel like I need to do something.
Part of my yard really needs mowing but I'm nearly out of gas. I'll wait and do just enough each week to make sure the mower can start in the spring.
Oh, yeah, the kitten that looks like the veteran's cat was looking out the front door.

I now have to rake. My father once told me to keep the leaves next to the road raked in case someone throws out a cigarette. And they're really coming down from the trees across the street. It's a shame the two maples don't stay pretty for very long.
And of course regardless of how short a time I spend away from the building where the rake goes, I have to close that door because Britney has a history of going inside and getting trapped.
One day Britney ended up back at home all of a sudden after being in my yard because the woman came out to smoke. Britney actually climbed up on her leg.
I saw the prettiest cat at the park. Mostly white with a mostly black tail and some black spots.
