I heard sounds like a bird and I saw Britney across the street meowing. That is, her meowing sounded like a bird. She crossed the street when she saw me.
I saw her across the street at another house this morning.

Britney was spinning around in my yard, apparently trying to catch something.
She and her Mommy make pretty Halloween decorations, though they don't usually stay in one place long.
One afternoon I saw one jump up on the recycling container only to find herself face to face with the other on the trash container. She retreated.

A tuxedo cat was at the wrong house. Someone came home and I found out that was, in fact, the cat who belonged at the house where the person came home. It came running!

Now that my new cat seems to have settled in, he won't shut up. He's always meowing. Cute, at first, because my last two cats were more quiet, but this one is either meowing or trilling.
Shut up for just a little while.
And stop waking me up at 4:30 on the weekends. I only get up that early Mon- Thurs. I want to sleep in Fri- Sun. You'll just have to get breakfast a little later.

I closed the door when I took out the rake and wheelbarrow. It's a good thing I did as Britney showed up sniffing at the door.
Later in the morning Britney was bouncing around, maybe chasing a leaf that was blowing in the wind. Then she took off as if shot out of a cannon.
Lots of kitties in all different colors at Kitty City Thursday. The cat at the house under construction wasn't around but its bowl was supplied with Fiji water.
Yesterday my aunt was driving when the sweetest calico kitten was just sitting in the middle of the road. It got out of the road and there was anothjer one where it went to.

Mommy was crossing my yard today and suddenly took off as if shot out of a cannon. Britney was in her yard at the time, but outside the fence.
I saw numerous cats yesterday on a street where I was guaranteed to see cats. I got worried because I didn't see any for a while, but they mostly showed up as I walked back to where I started. Three were white and two were tuxedo.
Tuesday I saw not just cats but kittens on a street where I was once guaranteed to see cats, but had not seen any lately. And one more cat at a house where I used to see them.

my little tuxedo kitty, Sambo, has finally learned to stop trying to wake me up at 4:30. I've been on a little vacation and am trying to get some extra shut-eye. He does make me get up by 7:30, though.

I can't recall anything special about the cats today. Britney did show up in my back yard and meow and rub against me.

Early this am, my cat curled up next to my face and put his head on my cheek and draped his paw across my neck. Only bad part is ...... his whiskers tickle!

Wake up with morningwood. Groggy as all hell. Cat sees something moving under blanket. My face when the cat attacks it and starts biting.

Britney was in my back yard looking as if she was going to pounce. Then she did. If it was a mouse or something I wouldn't think it would be out in the open, and I didn't see what it was.
This morning I pulled out the lawn mower to run it for a minute in order to keep it running all winter so it'll start in the spring. I always close the door, no matter how short a time I plan to be gone. I came back and there was Britney.
A thin black cat crossed my path. I don't think it was Mommy.

Britney was outside this morning the minute I went out to rake. At one point, for no reason, she took off as if shot out of a cannon toward her house.
She also did that on another day. And for some reason she took a sharp turn in the middle. She hesitated before jumping the fence.

As I walked yesterday on the college campus, I saw a black and white kitten. It meowed and rubbed against me, then it followed me. I kept almost tepping on it or tripping over it. It was so annoying! Eventually it stopped following, which was a good thing since I had to cross a road.
I saw one black and white cat on Banjo's street Wednesday. I have seen as many as nine on one day there.

I had two encounters with the kitten.
One time, it wouldn't go near me.
The other time, it repeated its past behavior.

After his previous scare, dragging him to a Vet to have his claws clipped is out of the question. Yeah, that was a disaster. I'm going to have to try to brave it out and clip them. He doesn't scratch me maliciously, He kneads my arms, face, chest and lap and his claws are so sharp that he leaves marks. "Love scratches!"

Lots to say today!
Britney looked thin this morning. No wonder! That was Mommy! I turned around and there was Britney outside the door to where I keep my rake.
The black and white kitten on the college campus near where I live repeated its earlier behavior, though two guys scared it and made it run. On that part of the campus they're either faculty or staff. Those who live there are allowed to have pets.
But on the college campus where I was yesterday there was a full-sized black and white kitty who was so sweet. I don't know what it was doing there but there may be homes nearby. It's the type of college where all students commute.
And at Kitty City there were so many kitties. One hid in a little cat house while another pawed at the other. There were two large black and white kitties and a tabby and assorted others.
The historian at the college (who works at the library and was manning the checkout desk when I left today) where I live had to put his cat to sleep. The woman at the library checkout desk commented about having to do that with an old cat and her duaghter had to tell her not to cry because it was just a cat.

Britney was over yesterday and meowed and rubbed against me, but more like it was an obligation than in an affectionate way.
She was over this morning but when I came near with the wheelbarrow she ran back home.
The man whistled once when I was outside but I didn't see her. He looked like he was putting out food.

Britney visited this morning, but no unusual behavior. It's a relief because there were vultures across the street earlier in the week and I didn't see either of the cats. They've been known to cross the street in the general area where the vultures were.
I saw a cat duck into a basement Tuesday on a street where I was once guaranteed to see cats.

The cat whose house is always under construction was out washing itself, upside down.
Kitty City had plenty of cats, one chasing another.
Another thread asks about pets. We moved into a new house when I was five. A calico cat hung around the construction site and stayed with us. I nme her Fluff after a cat in one of my books. Fluff in the book was part of the same litter as Buff, Ruff and Tuff, so I named her first kittens, all gray tabbies, Buff, Ruff and Tuff. I was upset when I saw Buff and Ruff being taken away by a friend of mine. Later, Fluff had another litter. So did Tuff. One of Tuff's looked like Priscilla, a cat I had seen around. Only one of the kittens was male (gray and white, not a tabby like his sisters) and we kept him. I named him Frisky. I didn't know what actually happens to kittens who go to the pound. You hope someone will take them all. A neighbor gave us a tuxedo kitten and I named him George Washington because my birthday was celebrated on his brithday. or something like that.
We moved and Frisky ran away. My father managed to find him but he was not happy about being put in a box. Eventually he ran away. George stayed around longer but also disappeared.
We had neighbors with a tortoise shell and a red tabby. They disagreed on what to call the cats. One of the names for the tortoise shell was Boots. Both were females but one of the neighbors called one Henry. I changed that to Henrietta, partly because Gomer Pyle once had a cat named Henrietta who looked like her. Both had kittens. One who looked like Henrietta eventually took up residence at my house. I named him Tiger. Both females still wandered the neighborhood, having kittens occasionally. The neighbors had moved and just left them.
Then we moved. We made arrangements for Tiger after he wouldn't even let us put him in a box to go to the vet. We never had any other cats.
But my neighbors have cats and some of them have been known to spend lots of time at my house.
One of them, twelve years ago, looked up at a gutter that was damaged, then looked at me as if to say, 'What did you do?" I found it beside the road two weeks before Sept. 11. The man whistled for the cat and I had to tell him.

Britney came up to my back door but went down the stairs when I came close.
Earlier I was raking and she came up to the door to the building where I keep my rake.

I was finally able to lasso my cat and clipped several of his front claws. Didn't get all of them, but several. Will try to get the remaining claws tonight or tomorrow.
He doesn't mean to scratch me but he likes to pat my with his paws and even though his claws are sheathed, they're so long and so sharp that I have lots of scratch marks all over me.

SoCal, your cat has a good memory; let me know if you are able to trick him into letting you clip the other claws.

After I raked leaves I ate breakfast and then went out on a walk. Britney was sitting in a chair on my front porch.
