Well there you are! There's always something positive to see in every situation! It must be a nightmare trying to travel, though, eh? By the way, are your summers sunny?? They are, but to be fair, the winters are pretty sunny, too. Often when it is sunny out, it is coldest up here. The clouds tend to trap in warmth - it is kind of weird. But Summers, though short, are quite nice. Warm but not usually hot, we never need air conditioning, and keep the windows thrown open day and night. I can't imagine it is any more beautiful that Ireland, though! I think you guys have some kind of copyright on blue skies and rolling green hills Aw that sounds a beautiful place where you live! Sunny..warm, or sunny...cold, eh? You've won me over at sunny!! Ireland certainly is made up of 'forty shades of green' but the blue skies are not so plentiful. Too much rain. Anyway, thanks for sharing!

I would love to go to Ireland someday espcially to track down my Irish roots Well I hope if you ever do make it over the pond to Ireland, you'll get a friendly welcome! It's not a big island so you should be able to find your way around pretty easily. Have you any idea where you would start in Ireland looking for your roots??

I would love to go to Ireland someday espcially to track down my Irish roots Oh yeah, me too! Scotland, as well. Didn't I read somewhere that you have Irish, Scottish, and Cherokee heritage? When he was on the radio (not often, by the way) my father sounded like he was Irish or Scottish. He never sounded that way talking. I have been told his mother was part Native American but I don't know if that's really true. Tuesday 57, Wednesday 59, yesterday 58. All three days I could walk outside in short sleeves and no jacket. This morning the man on the radio said 30, and that doesn't count wind. The forecast high was 43. It wasn't as bad as a week ago Tuesday when I was out after lunch. I did finally give in and wear long sleeves, though I don't have a lot of long-sleeved shirts. A jacket is assumed. I didn't wear it while dumping dish water or throwing out paper towels used for cleaning--which will go in the trash when I put it out tomorrow.

Well....we seem to have cheated the 'big snowstorm'....we got less than an inch.
It is cold, though.....very cold.
Single digit wind chill.

I haven't seen what the temperature was on any of the days yet. Martin Luther King Day, you see. And I wasn't able to record the weather Saturday or Sunday.
I do know it was COLD. The person on the radio said it was 25 at 10:20 Saturday. That couldn't have been right. Then it was 33 at 10:40. That was probably right. The forecast high was more like 45.
Today's forecast high was 50, but I doubt it'll get that high. There was frost on my car, which is unusual when its cloudy. Still, some girls at the college were jogging in shorts. Warmer tomorrow but wet.

Its been pretty mild by me in New York it got really cold Friday and it was windy it was still cold on Saturday, Sunday and today but not as bad as Friday....It was snowing by me a little while ago....
It has stopped nothing major but like an inch or two outside but their saying Rain and sleet later tonight until mid morning tomorrow than it will switch to all rain and be 45.
So just enough annoying wintry weather to mess up my hour and 15 minute commute to work a little tomorrow.

Sustained winds of 49mph right now, with gusts (frequent from the sound of it) up to 60. This place is god-awful sometimes.

;D 66 Tuesday.
When I got home yesterday I turned on a TV station that has a feature called "Roy's Folks" on its 5:00 newscast. That has people who play musical instruments like the banjo or fiddle, or people who collect knick-knacks, or artists. As I was waiting the meteorologist came on and said the high was misleading. It was 55 (also what it was in Charlotte). But the real high was 48, since that's what it got up to during the daylight hours. It was a beautiful day for walking in the cemetery, something I only do once or twice a year because there are so many other pretty places to walk when leaves are on the trees in that town. With the sun out, it was perfect, even with wind.
Everyone was talking about how cold it was this morning, though I didn't see any ice or frost and one girl wore flip-flops. The forecast high was 49. 60 Saturday.
And to think this week last year I drove to the college I graduated from because it was the only place (or so I believed at the time) where the library was open. Actually, the college library where I live was open, despite the fact that only the day before I could harldy stand up because ice covered everything. Meanwhile, even with the main roads clear, that other college was still shut down and ice was everywhere though most walkways were clear. And what they said on TV about opening late had been updated. Oh, well, the basketball arena had an Internet computer--though it kept shutting down on me.

It's still snowing... Snow I have hear of this stuff. It's white and really cold right? We don't get snow here. Last time it snowed was 2003 it was exciting. Melted by 9AM. Current weather here in Northern California is 51 degree. Damn cold winter weather. I had to wear a jacket today it was horrible. ;)It's suppose to rain I really hope so we need the rain. Enjoy shoving you driveway or whatever it is people do with that snow stuff.

We had a ton of snow back in 2009/2010 so I am kinda glad my dad wasn't alive to experience it but it was still hard for my mom to go through that alone but at least we had plenty of food to eat and we never did lose power once!
