Tons of various things that go through my mind, making my mind run a mile a minute when it should be resting so I can sleep...

What I started doing is, I got a soothing sounds app on my Kindle Fire, and I play it with my headphones on while in bed. I'm practically asleep within an hour.

Chloe, my friends and I call those midnight thoughts "the squirrels"

As in... "I've got the squirrels running through my head again"

It's not music... they have these alarm clocks or radios that plays sounds that help you relax, like the sound of a storm or the sound of the ocean, or something like that. There's many of them.

ive never heard of them it is a good idea to have those i think i would need the ocean sounds i will have to look for them

The first year that the place my parents and I used to stay at the beach was closed, we stayed across the street. The ocean bothered me. Last year, I had to find a new place because the place I stayed with my parents and then alone for 30 years didn't have anyone in the office and no sign that anyone would show up unless called on the phone--which I didn't have because I don't carry one. I won't be staying where I stayed last year because unless the refrigerator was running, which used to bother me but is now relaxing, I could hear the ocean.

I sometimes can't sleep if I have a lot on my mind or if I hear too much loud noises but i try to think of something relaxing or listen to something soothing like music by Yanni which is music that has no words to it, just various musical sounds

i cry sometimes when i play our answering machine because it's one of the few things that has my dad's voice and i sometime worry i am forgetting the sounds of his voice

What are some of the thoughts that are running through your mind when you cannot sleep?

Me, various things, but mostly story ideas. Sometimes, my best ideas are at night. Once, I stayed up all night and wrote a whole novel... over 100 pages.

so you like to write chloe? i would love to get a novel published its my only real dream but i always second guess myself but my husband says that my dreams would make great books or even movies

i have very detailed dreams and sometimes they even seem like they are stories that should be told so i always write them down, i feel maybe i have a writers mind but not the hands any tips?

I love to write... I've always been a writer at heart, but I'm sure there's someone who can give you better tips than I can because I am often asking that same question... maybe it's because I have my doubts... I don't know.

i know just how you feel i always wantedto be an actual writer but kinda like i was afraid to let myself want it so much cuz im afraid to fail or at least this is what my husband says
