I love writing, it has helped me through depression, loss, hurt, happy times and more! Writing lets me open a world that I can only dream of, I am currently working on 3 things and I also have a journal somewhere that I have mislaid that will go to my future husband of my dreams, hopes and thoughts of our future life together.
I have one writing that I wrote several years ago that expresses what I feel about writing:
Give me a pen and I’ll write the words
By Alysia Parker
People sit and watch me write. They wonder what it says and it’s all right to be read to be read by others. I smile and say yes my words are meant to be read.
If I have the paper and the pen then I just have to write the words
It may be about a mother bear in her den or it could be about a battle with swords.
The words I write are meant to cheer you. They are meant to be shared by all. That is why I write them down, to help get rid of that frown.
Just give me a pen and I’ll write the words. Just give me some time
To write them down, it make take awhile to finish it
But after awhile it will get done.
The next thing you know the words will be printed so that
Many more can read my words. So just give me a pen
And I’ll write the words for many more of my writings to be shared.

And jennifer I have had several things published, they were mostly in my college's newspaper but nevertheless they were published! I got an award for it, not bragging but people read my stuff and ask if I am professional author and it always gives me something to consider as a job option, to be a teacher or to be a professional writer! I am still debating on this too!

avp i am envious please tips!!!!!!!!!! here are my tips: 1. Keep a notepad with pen/pencil with you at all times 2. Keep eyes and ears open to look for good quotes, situations, etc you can use to write about 3. Read books and use them to inspire you 4. Be original in your ideas, don't be afraid to make up names, settings, etc. I do it all the time in all of my stuff 5. If it is a poem-don't worry about it not rhyming, as long as you have the thoughts down you can do it 6. Use your dreams to help write out story ideas it may help unlock plots, characters, you hadn't thought about! 7. Don't be afraid to change things after you type it up on the computer, and don't be afraid to add new things or take out things 8. Have others read it and give their opinions, listen and then try to take it into consideration, does it really need a bad guy? Does it need to be a love story when it is really an adventure? Etc. etc. Etc. 9. Have fun with it! 10. You can draw little drawings to go with your stuff too, it helps sometimes that way you can visualize what you are thinking of, it may be stick figures but as long as you have the idea on paper you can do it. 11. Look for pictures from magazines to help as well! 12. Look for ways to get it published~local newspaper, newsletters, contests for writers, etc. that's all i can think of for now |

very very helpful avp and i was surprised to see some of these things i already do like 1,2,3 and 6
and it is so strange because i will always think up quotes and i put them in my quote books maybe thats why so one day they can be in this book i write one day hopefully lol

I don't know why jennifer but for some reason I am drawn to authors yet I went to college with a lot of nurses and we got along great, I guess because teachers and nurses take similar classes and that's why but I am not sure
