there's nothing saying that we won't find out where sam's fear of clowns comes from. i also tend to agree that both boys biggest fear is losing the other one. i'd say that this is alot different then a childhood fear. i'm leaning towards sam's biggest fear (losing dean) manifests itself thru his childhood fear (clowns). just because there was a spoiler saying that we'll see dean's fear come to light, doesn't mean his childhood fear (which is actually flying) comes to pass. it simply means that his greatest fear comes to light, that of losing his baby brother. there's a big difference there. i'm guessing this epi will be the set-up epi for sammy finally losing his battle for his sanity.

I wanted to quote this because yes there is something saying we won't find out where Sam's fear of clowns comes from. It's in one of Jared's recent interviews. I just had a friend clear that up for me and waiting for her to link me to the interview he said this in. So there you go, we won't find out where Sam's childhood fear of clowns stemmed from. rose- while i would also love to know where sam's childhood fear comes from, i think facing that fear is an even bigger deal. we never really found out where dean's fear of flying came from, but he faced it in 'phantom traveler'. i think seeing the boys face and overcome those fears kind of makes up for not knowing where those childhood fears come from.

So, the question for me is......in the film clip of the upcoming episode, it seems to be Sam who finds this case in Kansas. Why would he choose a case that might involve clowns?

Maybe Sam's fear of clowns came from the same place as mine. Being 5 years old and accidentally turning on "It" during Halloween.

Ironically, Stephen King is my favorite author now...but then..Pennywise and Chucky used to make me cry!

i can understand being afraid of clowns, but unicorns? i'd be taking tons of pictures and video. then, i'd be trying to pet the unicorn.

personally, clowns freak me the hell out. i've hated them, pretty much my whole life. same goes for spiders. when i was 4, one of my mom's cousins thought it would be funny to put his pet tarantula on my shoulder without me knowing about it. the damn thing crawled down my shirt and freaked me out. i won't go near a spider to this day, and will wake the entire house up to kill one if it's invading my personal space.

I'm the same way about spiders, but my problem is is that I can't get close enough to one to kill it. I won't go NEAR it. I make the hubby kill it. He's my knight in shining armor when it comes to killing big, nasty spiders!
