Our stairway was blocked some when I went to go throw out our unworkable portable washing machine. Come on people! This is NOT the time for this kind of foolishness. I understand you want to chat and spend time with others but don't block the stairs! Maybe you should see if you can get one of those T shirts that has "6 feet apart >" printed on them. In a situation like that, I have always told people they need to move/make space, and they always do. That's a possibility to consider.

I haven't heard mouse noises. What I thought was a mouse may have been a mosquito. I've had lots of those but they're mostly gone now. Most were squashed. A couple drowned.
Liquid Plumr was all I needed in my sink. The store brand, anyway.
No serious computer problems today but a couple of frustrating incidents.
My mouse fell on the floor and twice I've had to plug my monitor back in since I last posted here.

One of the people who I befriended awhile back ago on Facebook has been incredibly hostile towards me.
He claims he does it because he cares, I don't believe it. Hostile behavior is NOT the way to share your love and appreciation.

The two carry out/delivery restaurants that have fresh salads have not answered their phones for two days. It is strange they both stopped at the same time.

I may have heard a mouse today. I was hoping not to hear any more.
I keep squashing mosquitos. Or finding them in water.
I started my virus scan this morning but it wasn't finished. Then later today my computer just shut down for no reason. Maybe I should just do it when I get through from now on.
And when my computer came back on the "Welcome" message wouldn't go away. That happened when I gave up yesterday while looking at a Berkshire Hathaway newspaper. Since I tried CTRL-ALT-DEL and it never worked, I did that and it eventually worked. That happened today too. I don't know what's causing this but I want it to stop.
I wrapped my mouse cord around the monitor to keep it from falling on the floor again.

We ordered some masks on eBay but the order no longer shows up on the purchase history and when I track it says it's in New York. Weird!

I wrapped my mouse cord around the monitor to keep it from falling on the floor again. I am waiting for you to tell us that both the mouse and the monitor fell on the floor together. It could happen. But so far, so good. The other mouse has gotten very comfortable here. I know of one place where it goes every time but I can't put a trap there because I'll step on it. My watch fell on the floor and I could have easily ended up washing it, but fortunately I found the pair of pants it was on top of which must have fallen when I was pulling on a bath towel that was getting in the way.

I went out today needing a drive and some coffee. I drive to my favorite starbucks, CHECKING BEFORE TO SEE IF IT WAS OPEN. (They’ve been only servicing through drive thru) The website and google maps said it was open with reduced hours 6-5pm. I go there and the freaking place is closed.

There is snow in my freezer. That's easier to deal with than ice.
Maybe I should wait until the mouse gets caught to report on it again.
Three dead mosquitos were on one side of the sink where I wash dishes, and one on the other. The three were under what I wash the dishes in so I saw them when I turned those over.
Roy now requires me to watch live while holding the antenna but even that didn't work last time. But Chad can't interview any "Roy's Folks" live these days so it's probably reruns anyway. One of the stories I tried to watch and couldn't looked familiar.
I decided to do the virus scan when I got off the computer yesterday and hopefully I can remember to do that from now on. I check a box to tell the computer to shut down afterward. But when I turned the computer on just before I was ready to use it, I saw a message that it was working on updates and was up to 30 percent. I went and did something else but it just took a minute to finish but when I signed in the "Welcome" would not go away. I did CTRL-ALT-DEL and that took a while to work but it did. Maybe I should just tell the computer to sleep from now on, like I used to. Then I won't have to sign in either. I learned how not to, but whatever I did I can't do now.
At least the former Berkshire Hathaway newspapers aren't causing problems. Well, two of them aren't. One of the libraries I can't go to right now gave me a card. I wasn't aware I could get one free there because some of the libraries I go to charge a lot to people living in another county. And they have another way to see most of the articles which I am taking advantage of. It might let me go faster when I finally get to see the real newspapers. Speaking of which, one of the newspapers I look at, after going from seven days a week to five, has now gone to three and an e-edition on two days. I can't look at the e-editions at home, or maybe I can. I tried contacting the library but didn't get a response. Surely they'll have a way for people using their library card to see those.
Two weeks after I used Liquid Plumr (the store brand) the bathroom sink is slower to drain, but no worse than before the plumber came.

For some odd reason a check I'm trying to deposit into my banking account isn't working properly on the app. I'm hoping to get it resolved soon or else I'll have to find a way to get to the bank and get it deposited.

I hate when that happens. The Lottery Commission prints their $4.00 winnings on a check the size of a billboard and I could not get it to fit/work on the app.

Saw the mouse several times over the weekend and may have heard it today.
There was a stupid EAS and I had to turn my Wisconsin radio station on again. If that's not bad enough, when the EAS ended, I think the TV went to "Jerry Springer". I don't know whether it was a test because there was only the sound.
Forgot the Food Thread last week and I'm pretty sure I'm leaving something out.

Had to dispose of our queen sized mattress and box-springs yesterday and they were a challenge removing them but it only took about 30 minutes to get it out of the apartment and to the dumpster.

One of my neighbors was trying to hold a conversation with me even though he was not wearing a mask. I gave him "the hand" and walked into my yard. He then tried to hold conversations with everyone who walked past him. He was not working outside; he was just trying to socialize.

Had a long ordeal in getting the church's sermon uploaded to the church's YouTube channel. After over 48 hours it finally uploaded and processed successfully. That was quite a challenging experience.
I wonder if YouTube was having higher than usual activity and that's why it took so long.

Poor mom is having an especially difficult time with her asthma plus we are trying to get in touch with her doctor to get a prescription refilled.
Also I ordered some groceries from Instacart but one item was missing yet I was charged for it. Phone support isn't working so I'll have to find another way to contact them to tell them my issue.

Had to dispose of our queen sized mattress and box-springs yesterday and they were a challenge removing them but it only took about 30 minutes to get it out of the apartment and to the dumpster. Sometime this summer I still have to get rid of the old box springs. If I can lift them. I couldn't when the men delivered the new foundation. I'm still moving stuff around so I can get it out, but I have to be able to remove blankets from the mattress. And the mattress. Then I have to move the new foundation inside when I can do that. I saw the mouse go in the bathroom when I was watching TV and I closed the door, but too late. It got out before I could get there. Still, if it wants to go in the bathroom, it only has one way and there's a trap there. Unless … And is this the same mouse? I heard one in my room. I know it was a mouse and not a mosquito. And I've squashed a bunch of mosquitos and found them in bad places. I remembered to do the virus scan Wednesday afternoon when I got off the computer. I pressed the sleep button when I went to bed. It wasn't enough time as I restarted the computer the next morning and it was only at 72 percent. I had to pause the scan and the computer was so slow all day. See the Tanmi thread for why Berkshire Hathaway will be less of a problem, but today the computer was acting up all day and froze once to the point I couldn't even get CTRL-ALT-DEL to work and unplugging became necessary. I've avoided that because it won't go past "Welcome" when turned back on without CTRL-ALT-DEL which takes a long time to work. I have reason to believe updates were being installed because of what it said in a box that said to close the app. But that doesn't explain why I had problems for hours. Turning the computer off seems to have helped. And I lost my Wisconsin radio station and had to get it back when I stepped on the modem cord and the lights went out. I saw most of both Roys. I used a web site to complain about a steel wool pad so I wouldn't have to deal with the 800 number. I got an email saying to call the 800 number. I forgot to wash a green shirt for Earth Day.

Finally got a refund through eBay for one of my missing mask order. I'm still waiting on the second order but not sure when it's arriving still, hopefully it will arrive. Also my special Aunt who is a nurse is sending us some extra masks she was given. Also I have an extra large scarf that I put on whenever I go outside.

I haven't heard a mouse all weekend. Maybe it's over.
I haven't gone to the one store that sells the soap I need (technically I'm not supposed to travel but I'm tired of not going places other than the nearest town) but what if it's out? I tried two places online and both places said not in stock. The last time I went to that store they only had one bottle. I had quit buying so much of it every time I would go in one of the stores. I didn't buy any on March 12, the last time I was in another location of that store. Dollar Tree has it but only the pump size. I haven't tried other brands but every other brand I've tried is too harsh. Bar soap isn't the solution. I tried using my motel soap, since I remembered I don't usually have problems when I use that, but apparently I have to actually be away from home and using the harsher soap most places, and the motel soap in the motel room.
Other than accidentally unplugging the monitor I haven't had computer problems. This new way of seeing former Berkshire Hathaway newspapers (Tanmi thread) is working.
I decided to do business with a Charlotte Observer advertiser because there are so few other than Sunday. I dialed their number and got a message "your call cannot be completed as dialed". Actually, they sell a premium quality product and maybe I don't want that. I'm tired of being cold in the winter and the windows may be the problem.

I told the 50 year old man who mows the lawns in the neighborhood that I am running out of cash-on-hand. I asked him which cash app does he use and he said he does not have a checking account so he does not have a cash app. I guess I might be mowing my own lawn.

My recent gaming video is over two hours long and was taking super long to upload to YouTube so I am now compressing it to see if that will help with the uploading times for the final video.

I received through the mail 300 pages of fine print from the investment company. Shareholders cannot attend the shareholders meeting in person so instead of sending it online, they cut down a tree to send the proxy by mail. I never read anything except the ballot.

Chad Tucker succeeded Roy Ackland reporting on "Roy's Folks", which I shorten to Roy. I have to watch his reports with an antenna or see them online if the stories are put online, and some don't make it there. But this week I didn't even get a signal. Usually I can hold the antenna in a certain position and get something, and with some effort I usually get a watchable signal as long as no one drives past the house. This wasn't a problem during cold weather but warm weather seems to mess up the signal. But not usually this much. And this station used to be on my cable system years ago, but not now. I don't know how bad the problem is with the Internet on the TiVo I use the most. I couldn't turn on my Wisconsin radio station this morning so I listened to it on the computer and, so far, no problems caused by asking so much of the computer. The wi-fi wouldn't work because I needed to change the settings. The error message with Ethernet says the cable is unplugged. What I do know is the cable has gotten tangled up with a bunch of wires and that made my phone fall on the floor yesterday when I finally got the Brillo people to compensate me for a defective product. I had to wait for a call from the supervisor after I called the 800 number and talked to someone, after I had already emailed. I also found my big suitcase on top of the cable. But everything was working fine yesterday. I haven't tested the cable with the newer TiVo but if it works there, I'll have to get wi-fi to work to keep using the TiVo. That's where it gets programming information. If the cable is defective, it'll cost $20 to replace and I have to go to the store and get it. But I don't see how that would happen because even with what has happened to it, it looks pretty sturdy. I've had some software glitches with the TiVo and one of them, after clearing up, has come back. I can't watch shows from the newest TiVo on the other TiVo because the other TiVo can't "find" the newest one. Good news? I put out a new trap and can't find it. I haven't seen the mouse, though. The last time a trap disappeared I found it the hard way. But the company that made that one said a mouse is not supposed to be able to get away from it. Or get away with it. I did get another mouse with another of those traps, but only because I was there and was able to dispose of the mouse before it got away. I've heard noises but they could be mosquitos or spiders. Though I thought I heard the sound of something big trying to get through the wall. Virus scan completed last night. No serious computer problems.
