The events at the Capitol pre-empted Roy (Chad), but then I remembered I also record him at 8 AM. I don't know why I thought they'd go back to normal programming at 5 and he'd be on then, but thinking that was true reminded me he does air at that other time.
My monitor fell today along with the mouse and I had trouble getting it plugged back in. I thought I had done it and the screen was dark again when I came back.
Shaving without a fidget spinner is a challenge. I thought I only needed it to clean the shaver, but of course cleaning is an adventure. The parts that do the cutting have nothing holding them in place.
My hands are still dry.

I did see the other Roy (Chad).
My monitor and mouse fell and my webcam has never been in the right position. I thought there was something to attach it with so it would be. After falling all these times, I can't make it stay in the place it needs to.
A milk bottle full of water fell in the kitchen. Some bottles just never get clean enough to recycle. They might take it anyway. It's not like I'll ever know.
My hands are still dry. Cleaning up over the weekend makes that worse and do does washing dishes which I do twice a week.

This has been one of those days when nothing goes right. I checked to see why my benefits payment of more than $1000 had not been received. I got as far as learning there was a problem with the bank information. When I tried to log in, they sent a confirmation text which would not go through. I tried to call and the call "failed". I called my phone provider and the call "failed". After much research, i contacted wireless provider to reset my service and that cleared up the telephone problem. I then updated bank information. Should receive money in seven days. I hope they do not mail me a check.
I followed a 15-week tooth correction program. On week 15, I received notification to order retainers. I logged in to order retainers and a message popped up, "Are you too early? Call us." As noted above, I could not make any calls.

I saw both Roys (meaning Chad).
My hands are still dry and there hasn't been any really warm weather.
My newspaper's TV section arrived Tuesday. It has never been that late. I called on Monday and there wasn't a thing they could do. I asked about getting it by mail which was suggested, and that would make me miss it for two weeks. besides, when I called, there was a warning that once it went to the post office, there was nothing they could do about delays. I looked at several newspapers that have that same TV section and none have a way to access the information online. Fortunately, that's only a concern for November 22.

Had some delivery issues again but I think it's been resolved now.
Also I'm waiting on my refund check and harddrive so not sure where they are. The refund check was supposed to be in today's mail but I checked twice today and our mail slot was empty.

I can't think of any computer problems except the Internet went out three times when I was trying to finish up on Friday. It seems to go out every day just briefly and this was just briefly but it kept happening.
My hands are still dry. We need warm weather.

I saw one Roy on Wednesday, and this is related to the latest Weird Dream Thread post. I did not see Roy (Chad) in the morning but I did in the afternoon.
The news wasn't on Monday so I don't know whether it aired or not.
During Biden's speech I clicked or hit a key on the keyboard and the monitor went dark. Actually, there's an orange light on the keyboard that went out. I tried unplugging the computer and plugging it back in. Then I tried making sure the monitor was plugged in. That worked and since everything was larger than it should have been, the monitor must have come unplugged. Actually, that doesn't explain the orange light.
Also my computer froze once and had to be unplugged again.
I did remember the virus scan and that went fine.
Also, that Internet problem happened again, where it goes out several times in just a few minutes late in the afternoon.
My hands are still dry even with the warmer weather.
And when I wash them, the bathroom sink now starts filling up. At this point it drains before I do it again. But I put the last of my drain cleaner in the sink and it didn't work. Then all of a sudden the sink drained. What a relief. Except that hasn't happened since. So I bought a new bottle and we'll see how that goes tomorrow. When I clean up, that's the one time I can feel free to leave the sink for long enough for the drain cleaner to work.
An actual newspaper that was missing last time I was at one of the libraries was still missing after they got a second copy of another date.
I didn't check to see if my TV section came.

TV section came!
I dumped maybe a half bottle of drain cleaner in my sink. That's what the directions say but how do you measure when the bottle is opaque? The next time I ran water it came up into the sink but then it drained quickly. And made a lot of noise. And no problems since.
No computer problems over the weekend except for the Internet going out just before I wanted to quit. It came back but I kept getting error messages.

I saw Roy (Chad) twice this week.
My hands are still dry but things got better when the weather got warmer, and if not for the fact I had to wash dishes today things might have improved. My hands were actually burning on Saturday.
As if not being able to keep my mattress pad tucked in wasn't bad enough, it tore. It was already torn in the corner that is supposed to stay in place, but it's something like a wire that won't do that.
I had a big computer-related problem I'd just as soon not talk about. I try to keep my various online personas separate. The good news is it's mostly solved.

Forgot to mention the virus scan did fine. I remembered it when I went to bed so the computer was on all night.
I tore my mattress pad again.

When the heat comes on it smells like something died. I may have seen a mouse, and I hope there's a connection.

I saw both Roys (meaning Chad).
I got my stimulus check. Not a check.
My hands are still dry. It wasn't as bad when during wet weather but it also got cold again.
I haven't come up with a solution for the mattress pad.
I remembered the virus scan. My computer froze several times in one day. No Internet problems, though.
No mouse or smell.

The local government cited Door Dash for price gouging the restaurants and capped the amount they could charge them. So, DoorDash app tacked on a $1.50 fee in addition to their other fees. I deleted the order and ordered directly from the restaurant, which was cheaper. I am going to make a list of local restaurants that will deliver without Door Dash. Unfortunately, I already paid the monthly cost for the service.

My hands are still dry but I'm feeling some improvement. The problem is I cleaned over the weekend when at least there was some rain and I washed dishes today.
The mattress pad is doing better but not perfect. I just have to pull it out of the other corner.
I had a weird computer problem yesterday. This has happened at libraries but I'm not sure it ever happened at home. I could go to web sites I had been to but not web sites I had not been to that day. Then I saw the modem light blinking. Soon after that things got better.
The mouse came back last night and kept going back in the other room every time it realized I was there. It had come out of the bathroom once, assuming it wasn't a different mouse. I never saw it go in the bathroom.
TV section came. I paid for my newspaper subscription (TV section is a separate subscription) but I always ask for a discount. They couldn't give me much of one but everything helps. Still, it involved waiting the longest time on hold.
Remote batteries quit on me. I had to open the package of rechargeable ones I bought several weeks ago. When those go too I can recharge all four at once. The recharger won't do two.
Light bulb went out too. It was flickering and then it went out. I thought CFL bulbs lasted longer. But this was one of the newer ones.
Neither my trash nor my recycling got emptied. Both had some of what I put in go in their trucks.

I saw both Roys (Chad).
The mattress pad keeps misbehaving and this time the oldest blanket got tangled up in it.
The mouse showed up again and I saw evidence it had been there later. The glue trap was moved and had other stuff stuck to it.
I also may have seen the mouse yesterday.
Trash got emptied though a few items got stuck in the container.
My hands are still dry but it has been a warm week and even wet at times, which helps.
I remembered the virus scan.

I remembered the virus scan. If you do not mind, please refresh my memory on why you need to do virus scans regularly. I've forgotten why but it was advised I do a full scan once a week (about 400,000 files at last count). When I had Norton it was automatic and didn't seem to interfere with my Internet use, though my Internet was very slow at the time. That was also a different computer. If I scan while I am using the Internet now, everything slows down. And if I don't post here about it I might forget to do it. Victory! Although the crackers I used as bait were gone in the room where I first saw the mouse, I did put out a glue trap where I most recently saw the mouse. That glue trap was gone, unfortunately, but I happened to see it under some newspapers nearby. I started to move it and IT HAD A MOUSE! I threw the mouse in the trash container outside. During the night I heard the mouse making noise and saw that a shoebox was messed up. Fortunately the shoe inside was not. My hands are still dry but it has been cold. It helps that it has been wet. The TV section did not come and there's not a thing I can do about it. Last time this happened it came on Tuesday so I'll give it one more day, but the most they can do is credit me. I can't find the articles online. Other than that it's not a real problem unless I go on vacation because there's not another way to see what movies are on. No, the phone makes calls. No, I'm not looking it up at the library. Computer froze over the weekend but I have a new way of saving something I was working on at the time. Also see the Food Thread.

I saw both Roys (Chad).
I was so happy about the mouse and not long after I got off the computer, I saw another one in another location. I suspected the one that escaped the glue trap wouldn't have been caught. Plus there had been two different sets of behaviors. I just saw a mouse where I caught the first one, and soon a new glue trap will go in that same place, and I'm hoping for similar results.
Virus scan did fine, with less than 350,000 files but there was recently a restart for updates. My computer cam on in the middle of the night, and it froze once this week.
The TV section to did not come but my other newspaper problem was solved. A web site where I see one of the newspapers I have looked at when i go to a library had not updated for a week. Today all the missing papers were there.
Mattress pad is doing fine.
The trash and recycling pickup is late so I don't know if it will go all right this time. That mouse will make the trash container smell.
A new package of toilet paper has soft in the name but it isn't. However, it works for some purposes.
And the mouse just went back. It won't do it again, at least not easily.

I caught another mouse. I was in the room where I watch TV and I saw it moving around, but I took a closer look because I wanted to see if it had gotten away from the glue trap or if the glue trap was still intact. In fact, it was struggling because it had gotten caught. I threw it in the trash. And the trash ad recycling from last week did all go in the terucks.
And minutes later, another mouse. Furthermore, I saw a mouse (the same one?) go under the chair next to my computer where I had removed a glue trap already. I need to get more glue traps so I can have one in each place.
The new TV section came but that doesn't help me with the old one.
Computer froze several times over the weekend. I didn't lose much. But I was so close to finished for the day one of the times.
I moved a bottle of Lysol to a different bathroom and forgot to check whether the top was on securely. What a mess.
My hands are still dry. The worst thing is those little cuts.

We caught about 11 mice in the past few days, ugh but at least our apartment is slowly becoming rodent free again!
Also yesterday I got soaked in the rain from helping out in the food distribution which was not fun plus I had to a lot of heavier lifting than usual.

I saw both Roys (Chad).
No birthday cards. Not even from relatives. I do have to go back to the post office but nothing had come by Tuesday.
The mouse didn't appear for several days but when it did, it wasn't shy at all. Well, it did go back into hiding a couple of times, but it just kept running across the room where I was watching TV. I kept moving the glue trap but the one time the mouse crossed it, it didn't get stuck. I need to call the company because the trap didn't look quite right anyway. Except for a box a crackers that it got into (assuming it's the same mouse, and if so, how can a volume of crackers greater than that of one mouse be missing?) I have seen no more evidence and haven't hear anything either.
I forgot to do the virus scan but hopefully I'll remember when I quit tonight.
Also see the Gas Price thread.
Another new TV section came.
Computer froze once or twice. Monitor got unplugged on another occasion when I noticed the computer turned itself on.
Mattress pad did fine this week.

Saturday, it was announced my actual newspaper would be dropping some comics and adding others. That was the understatement of the year. My newspaper has always had a great comics section. Instead of one and a half pages of comics, now there is one page of comics. And many of my favorites were gone. I'm trying to cut down on my computer time, not add to it.
Computer didn't freeze but the monitor got unplugged. Also, it keeps coming on during the evening. Once this happened when I had just turned it off minutes earlier. The virus scan did get completed, though, but I forgot to look at the file count. If I did something wrong it's only 4 digits.
The mouse came out from under the chair and got scared and went back. Then it came out several times and went wherever it goes. I saw no evidence of where it had been. I put a glue trap where it exits but that doesn't seem to have worked as other stuff got stuck to it.
I found my other red shoe. I need a red shoe to wear at home on patriotic holidays when the weather is good. Instead, I've been wearing the shoes I'm willing to wear outside if it has been raining, which are pink. I have three pairs of shoes for going somewhere if it might rain or has rain, each one for how bad the weather is or was. And two pairs for going to church, one for nice weather and one for not so nice weather. But I don't want to wear the church shoes because they're too nice.
Nothing for my birthday. I did buy shoes which came Saturday but they're green. Or blue. Green enough for St. Patrick's Day if the weather is good.

I saw both Roys (Chad) though the second one I will have to see the beginning of online if I can.
Good news about the comics. Every newspaper owned by the company has added one of the ones I read back. That still leaves me spending a lot of time each day on the others.
Computer froze several times this week including once when I lost a lot of work. And it won't stop coming on in the middle of the night. At least this week I did remember the virus scan and there was a 6-digit number at the end.
I couldn't find the glue traps that worked and the one I did buy got moved and the mouse got away. I saw the mouse and it got scared and went back into hiding. Assuming there is only one.
Bathroom sink is stopped up again so I'll dump store brand drain cleaner in tomorrow. Hopefully that will work but at this point it's just not draining when I wash my hands, but the sink is empty when I come back.
I'm missing a blue shoe which I'll want to find if I'm not going to wear my new shoes. I should have mentioned if I drive somewhere on a day when I wear red, white and blue, I have a salmon pair of shoes. Next time I go to the shoe store, I need to ask about shoes that won't wear out on the bottom. Protecting from rain isn't good enough if the heel doesn't hold up.
Forgot to check on my TV section.
Mattress pad came loose but I fixed it and it's still doing okay. I was going to try harder to get to the mattress store but apparently you need to be some kind of genius to get there. You can get there if you are coming east but I'm coming west. I'm surprised with all the road projects they're still in business.
My hands are dry again because the weather got cold but warm weather helped.

More bad news about the comics. Nearly all the ones that were dropped during the week were gone on Sunday too, and some of the Sunday-only strips were gone too.
It doesn't matter that you can see some in the E-edition. I don't read that, except on Saturday when there's no real newspaper, and even then it's just the part that looks like the real newspaper and not the "Extra Extra".
Computer froze twice yesterday and I had to start something big completely over. I even discovered there is a way to save it. I also accidentally clicked where it changes my Yahoo email to the new version. It took a lot of effort to find how to switch it back again. And no, asking me if the help articles helped does not help since "feedback" results in thanks, not more help. Computer also came on twice during the night but at least it was in time for me to turn it off.
I've seen the mouse once. It went around the tap. I've moved barriers into place but that still might not be enough. I also heard the mouse (or what I think is the mouse).
Bathroom sink is fine again and it drained easily the first time I turned on the water.
TV section came.
Mattress pad is still fine except it's torn worse and covering less.
My hands have been dry but not as bad as before.

I saw both Roys (Chad).
I can't remember the computer freezing. Wait, yes it did. Once. I did get a notification to restart and I did remember to do it yesterday. The computer has been coming on at night and staying on. I remembered the virus san as a result but I can't remember the total number of files so I don't know if I did the right kind of scan.
I didn't see the mouse all week but I heard mouse noises. Today it kept popping out from under the nice chair (close to where I am sitting0, seeing me, and getting scared and going back into hiding. The glue trap appears to have moved. I blocked the mouse's path but that doesn't appear to have worked. I haven't heard a thing in hours.
My hands were dry Wednesday but it's not so bad this week.

I saw Roy yesterday.
Computer froze twice on Sunday but what I was working on gets saved automatically. Not so the second time, because it happened before the software had a chance to save it.
And the computer keeps coming on at night.
I haven't seen a mouse or heard mouse noises in days.
It has been warmer so my hands haven't been as dry.
Mattress pad came loose but I fixed it.
TV section came.
My refrigerator door is taking extra effort to close these days. On Saturday this was a problem for the first time. I could still see the light on until I really pushed it. Then, later in the day, no matter what, I couldn't get it to stay closed. I called the man who fixed it the last time this happened and was told he can come Thursday morning. This morning I finally got it to close so I couldn't see the light. Then, on its own, it opened just enough that the light came on. Then I closed it later and still can't see the light. Maybe I won't need the man to come after all. I had a scare when it finally quit running. What if it has been running too much? Then it came on.
