I need an actual (....) place where Dean bashing stays the (....) out of pro Dean threads. It's bad enough I see it in threads, there is bugs me but I'm like whatever but in a Dean pro thread where it's supposed to be free of that, no no no (....) that, I'm out.

Yikes!!!  Just to let you all know.....I LOVE DEAN! :heart: I love him happy, said, guilty, anxious, hungry and every other way. :heart: I just don't want the writers to pigeon-hole his character into the guilt ridden, self loathing semi bright person he is sometimes portrayed as in the show.  That being said, I will take him anyway I can get him. I love Jensen's portrayal of him  I would NEVER bash him....NEVER!  I hope I didn't cause too much consternation......it wasn't intended.  |

There are so many layers to the Dean character that he could never be considered a caricature, in my opinion. I think he's very bright, and the fact that he has some self-esteem issues, and carries around some guilt means he's not perfect. Which makes him very relatable. And that's good, because I don't like perfect characters.  |

IDK, I could be way off, but the way I read it, everyone here agrees that Dean is smart, professional, and we want him to feel unburdened of his guilt, and worthy of good things. The history and heart of the character is all of these things, but the writers have shown an awful lot of Dean (and Sam, but that's a different thread) in a ton of pain recently. I wouldn't mind a little "shoot-first-ask-questions-later" Dean, myself - I like that Dean :heart: Ohh, I like man-whore Dean, too! (ha, I remember when I wrote that over at CWL, it got edited...hehe)  |

maybe to prevent any future confusion we should keep this thread about what we LOVE about dean....
and NOT what we dont like about how the writers are writing him...that seem's more of a seperate thread topic IMO...
this way no one can misinterpret what people are saying.....and can just concentrate on the Dean love in a Dean thread... :heart:

yes, the thread is all about dean, not about the writers and the way they choose to write him. its about dean and all the physical and mental pieces that make him who he is. it's about his actions and the choices he makes. it's not about how the writers choose to write him, or how they have him come across. that's a completely different topic, altogether.  |

Yep.........guess I really stepped in it when I dared to be critical of some of Dean's writers.  Won't do that again here  . Will only sing his praises  .....of which there are too many to count. Dean is awesome. And I really loved him in AIB, especially in his interactions with Krissy and that last scene. He had me practically in tears! |

Watched the 'Like A Virgin' episode on TNT this morning. I always laugh when Dean tries to remove the sword from the stone. His comedic expression along with the dramatic music is just one of the instances where Supernatural laughs at itself and it works.  |
