That's awesome! And there are some usernames there we can use to try and find some of those folks, so thanks for sharing. Although I do have to say, I wondered if clicking on this thread title meant I had an 'old face.'

I had trouble sleeping one night and when I went in the bathroom I looked in the mirror and saw my father looking back.

I almost never look good. The best photo of me is one where I was part of a group, and I found someone to take just my photo to put in on my Facebook page. And until I find an electric razor that actually works, I don't dare have my picture taken again.

It's not that serious. I make a real effort to shave on Sunday morning and still end up looking like I haven't shaved. In fact, one Sunday I visited an aunt and she asked if I was growing a mustache. I said no, but none of my electric razors were any good. During the week I think I did an okay job and find out there are places where I did nothing at all. How hard is it to sell a razor with a CORD? I don't want rechargeable. One day years ago I needed to shave because it was the first day on a new job and the thing had not recharged! You always have to remember to turn it OFF. It goes off when it runs out but that is NOT the same thing.

I feel your frustration but honestly have no idea about mens razors. Perhaps Moon can be of some help...

Let's face it, electric razors suck, whether they're rechargable or not. What you want on your face is hard steel heated up to a temperature that makes all whiskers succumb. Add to that a rich paste of the most luxurious lanolin-enriched cream you can find (extra points if you can find a shave-cream heater you can click onto the can and then plug into the wall.) Of course, you'll want to start with the sensual foreplay of a steamed towel against your hirsuite visage to open the pores and send you into a relaxed state. Next, invite several of your female friends over and and swear to them that you've decided never to shave again, unless they can convince you. Shaving, like many other things, such as repairing a car, digging a well, or casting a hex, is a chore that is much more a pleasure if it's done for you by other people. If worse comes to worse, find an old-fashioned barbershop. one of those with the sentinel poles out front, and pay the barber whatever he/she charges to return you from your simian heritage. It's money well spent. Unless, of course, you're appearing in a werewolf movie or the latest Unabomber biopic.

Thanks. That was my first ever attempt to write in the style of one of my favorite periodicals through the decades, Esquire magazine.

If worse comes to worse, find an old-fashioned barbershop. one of those with the sentinel poles out front, and pay the barber whatever he/she charges to return you from your simian heritage. I have one of those, only without a pole, walking distance from my house, but I'm looking for a permanent solution. I looked in the mirror on Monday and couldn't really tell anything was wrong (so a photo would be permissible), though a close look would reveal I needed to shave. Trust me. Even on Saturday I don't even look like Mac and Charlie of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia".
