I went to the hospital both Wednesday and yesterday.
At the first hospital (http://displacedcwloungefan.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=49&page=1#3375) I had a chicken salad sandwich, but I didn't tell them not to cut it in half. I have to tell them this because we put our own lettuce and tomato slices on it. Can you imagine trying to put a full slice of tomato on a sandwich that has been cut in half? Lettuce isn't much better. I waited because I was afraid they'd forget. I said it twice when I saw the woman taking it off the appliance that toasts it. And it still got cut in half. I said, "Am I talking to the wall?" The woman in charge heard me and said I wouldn't have to pay for it. Before, they threw it out and gave me a new one, though I don't like to waste food and I didn't have time then or Wednesday. But the woman went to the cash register and said I didn't get what I wanted so not to charge me. I wasn't even charged for milk! I should have gotten Fritos. I didn't get them because chicken salad sandwiches are more expensive than turkey burgers. Once I got outside and started walking back to the library, since I was not frustrated by them messing up because I had been compensated, I actually figured out how to pick up both halves of the sandwich at once rather than spilling out all the lettuce and having a hard time with the tomato. Actually, there were no tomato slices large enough to have been a problem--each one could have simply gone on half the sandwich.
Yesterday the hospital was across the street from a drugstore that sells something I wanted and they were out of last week. they have sandwiches but don't give me pints of milk (they give me less), so I go to the hospital. It has a small park with shade trees.

I ate a copious amount of garlic chicken. But I could still go for a taco. (always)

I finished two 2-liter bottles of apple juice that expired in 2010. No negative effects that I'm aware of. It tasted fine.
Yesterday I had a fudge cappuccino ice cream sandwich. Some of you may not be familiar with the concept. There are two large rectangular chocolate cookies, with ice cream between them. I was hoping for regular vanilla or regular chocolate because both taste so good, and where I normally get ice cream, it's just too expensive to get flavors I can't find elsewhere. But I got what the Citgo had. Also hot dogs.

I'm out of oatmeal cookies, so I guess I'll be eating my Christmas tree cookies next weekend. Oatmeal cookies are normally a special treat on weekends, but my usual store doesn't sell the kind I like and it's too much trouble to go to the store that does.
I still haven't finished my old cookies, so the Oreos are still waiting.

I ate Spaghetti A to Z today. I don't buy SpaghettiOs because if I'm not careful, I might pick up the one without meatballs by mistake. There's a version with cheese sauce which tastes terrible and nothing like cheese. While I didn't do it today, I have put cheese in my spaghetti and meatballs.

I'm so happy to report that I have recycled two Spaghetti A to Z cans. In the old days when I was still taking my trash to the dump, I didn't take the time to get cans clean if they were that much of a mess. Tomato sauce after even one day was just too hard to do anything with. But lately spaghetti and even Beefaroni, once I filled the can with water, looked easy enough to clean. Most weeks I managed to get the can clean enough that I believe it will satisfy the recycling people. When I would deliver the recycling to the dump, it's possible the man there would have an opinion, but I don't know.
Dump, by the way, means a place where we can dump our garbage in one container, which the man would use a compacting machine on when there was enough of it, and our recyclables in another. We used to have to separate our recyclables and I think it would have worked better if we did. The newspapers surely weren't staying all that clean and I know of one county that expected pristine papers. In which case I could never recycle, but I recycle the ones that look the least bad, and the ones that have gotten food or dirt on them get put in the trash.

So I'm going back to the hospital on Wednesday. Probably not tomorrow, because there's only one library I can go to on Friday, and that's the one at the college I graduated from. If I go tomorrow to the hospital, I might forget on Thursday that I'm not supposed to go anywhere.
It's time for a turkey burger, so that won't be a problem. Since I would have to put my own onions on it, I won't have the problem that I did.
I hope the flowers will still be pretty at the park.

I didn't look at the soup can. Today was a nightmare.
I avoid Chunky Beef soup except on Fridays when I'm washing dishes. Today, I just picked up an old dented can I found when looking for something else. I decided I'd better go ahead and eat it because I've heard you shouldn't eat what's in dented cans.
It was too late when I saw the disgusting brown mess. that's hard to clean off the pot, the nonstick ladel, and the bowl. I wash dishes on Thursday this week, which is also why I'm home on a Tuesday. Friday I have to go to the one library that's open, as I've explained elsewhere. Hopefully, I got everything clean enough with paper towels. Because if I didn't, it'll be a difficult day on Thursday. I do not have anything else I can use to scrub with. Brillo is too harsh for nonstick cookware and I already see scratches on the pot. Those could be old. The bowl would be all right but I don't want to get my Brillo dirty, seeing as how those things don't last like the Scotch Brite Never Rust did. Those aren't made any more.

The Brillo is doing fine so far.
The old Brillo was not rusty when I took it out of the freezer. I used the new Brillo for "clean" dishes, although they're all pretty clean. I did leave the bowl I ate soup from a mess, but it was clean when it went in the water.
I didn't have to add dishwashing liquid today like I did Monday.
And yesterday as I ate my turkey burger, the flowers were pretty. Most of the trees are green now and most of the flowers are close to the ground.

Still reasonably good results from the Brillo. It didn't rust. Though I'm not getting the lather that I would from what I used to use. Lately most of the lather has come from brand new soap pads. Which I didn't need today.
I got crispy chicken, not grilled like I ordered, at McDonald's. There was also cheese and bacon. I don't like bacon. It's my own fault for not checking the bag before I left. It used to be the only time of year I had bacon was Easter, but I haven't gotten up for Easter sunrise service in 25 years.
And I finished my Little Debbie Christmas trees just in time for Easter. I had a peanut butter egg but I lost it. I'm hoping to find caramel eggs on sale.

I still haven't found my peanut butter egg. I'm hoping to find a caramel egg on sale. I should have gotten that instead.
I had my first ice cream of the year yesterday. Technically, the ice cream sandwich I had several weeks ago should count. I had lime sherbet, only it was really ranbow sherbet since they didn't have lime as such. Only lime mixed with orange and lemon, but they can scoop out mainly the lime.
I still hope to find ice cream sandwiches with vanilla or chocolate or both.

No caramel egg yet. And I haven't found jelly beans on sale.
But more importantly, I couldn't get paper bags at my usual grocery store. They told me they have tried and tried. I got the minimum I could get by with and found boxes that had just been unloaded. Later I realized I didn't have enough bread to get through the week or hamburger buns, and I'm about out of hot dog buns. So tomorrow I will be taking my coupon for Archway cookies, which they don't have (not the oatmeal) at my usual store any more, and getting those along with everything else I need. Surely there will be bags where I get Archway cookies.
I had some bags to use to put my trash in, but any bag that is not brand new is more likely to fall down if anything gets put in it. I can use older bags for recycling and to put on top of the trash bags that go in the rolling container. When I took them to the dump I didn't bother to put tops on them. But since they added rolling containers nearly a year ago for recycling, I haven't actually needed bags for recycling. They just make it easier.
No, I'm not paying for Hefty bags. And they're not going to stand up in my kitchen. That's also the problem with plastic shopping bags, which are basically useless once I get them home. And yet I have to take them at most stores. I can walk on them in certain situations.

I forgot to mention. Sunday my church had its annual birthday lunch. There are twelve sets of tables in the fellowship hall, most decorated according to the month. You sit at the table for the month of your birthday. October's table didn't have a Halloween theme, but my table had Valentine's Day and December had a poinsettia and other Christmas decorations, July was patriotic, March had St. Patrick's Day, etc.
Someone pulls a slips of paper out of a bowl to determine the order in which we go to the choir room to get our food. With some meals the food can be in the fellowship hall too, but for this and Homecoming it has to be the choir room. February was first for once! One of our people complains we're always close to last.

I hope I don't regret bringing that up.
I went to the hospital yesterday. I missed out on a celebration of veterans at one of the two parks I walked through. I saw the people in military uniforms leaving but I didn't see where the celebration was until I saw today's paper. Maybe next time. It's a new memorial of some kind.
But that's not the park across from the hospital. It's the next one. And once I finished walking through there, I walked in the hospital only to find they were remodeling. We ordered our food at the old snack bar. It was time for chicken salad but they didn't appear to have it. They had turkey burgers. And the lettuce and tomato were in the next room where people sat down to eat. Oh well, I won't have to worry about chicken salad, then, for a while, because for the rest of the summer I can get milk before I ever arrive at the library (I have to go to the college library first because it will be closed when I arrive home) and I can eat hot dogs and hush puppies on the way to the two parks.
If I haven't mentioned hush puppies, at the resaturant I go to they're a little larger than golf balls and made of corn meal and fried.

scrub it with dish soap, and then wash it in as hot a water as the material will allow...dish soap gets out almost any food stain. Also, almost any grease stain.

I'll have to check to see if the stain came out with just regular washing. That's all i remembered to do.
I got cough syrup on another shirt and I'll have to see if that came out.
I can't remember which shirt I wore Friday but it may be the one I wore Tuesday, in which case I'm okay.

I think I washed the shirt with the Beefaroni stain today, and if I did, the stain has come out of it. I also washed it after the incident. The only time I do special preparation is when something happens to my underpants.
On the other hand, I though I had messed up a nice pair of shoes. I figured out they're three years old, but I don't want to go back and replace every pair in every color, so they have to last. I had vegetable beef soup and washed out the can, leaving some water in it to loosen what's still there, and set it where I put my recyclables, but I bumped into it and spilled the water all over, including on my shoe. Fortunately, it was just water.

I find Jennie-O turkey burgers very frustrating. They come two to a package inside a box with several packages. The packages aren't that easy to open since they are really cold, and I finally gave up today and dumped both burgers in the water rather than try to separate them. There's wax paper between the two but that doesn't always make separating them easy. I told the people I wouldn't buy that brand if it was like that. I don't think they'll change. Anyway, I buy a competing brand with slightly larger burgers that are easier to separate. They did send me a coupon but to use it I had to buy two more boxes of turkey burgers.
I hate the taste of key lime sparkling water but at least I don't have to remember to be careful opening it or, if I'm not, spray the stuff all over creation.
I'm finished with the Oreos I got two years ago. I'm careful now not to take advantage of every buy one, get one free sale on cookies. I don't eat enough cookies to do that.

It wasn't hot enough for ice cream yesterday. I'll wait. It actually was hot out in the sun, but it was ten minutes before the place opened and I had lots to do.
I'm wondering if I felt lousy yesterday because all I ate was a foot long hot dog. I had flavored water during the afternoon but still felt lousy. It is possible some of my problems can be traced back to a bug landing in my milk, which I left in the kitchen for a while. It wasn't dead. Flu-like symptoms could have been from getting wet. Though that doesn't explain the symptoms coming back last night.
A week from this Sunday my church has a lunch for the new intern who is studying to be a pastor.

I have a theory about why I've felt so lousy this week.
I should be drinking more, but it has never affected me this much when I didn't drink enough. But part of my problem may have been drinking Canada Dry (hey, I had coupons) instead of good-tasting sugary soda. I allow myself one glass each day.
As for the flavored water, I found a bottle in a place it didn't normally go, and it may be that because there was some left in it, that's why I felt so lousy last week. But that only explains one day since I made up for it later.
There is an orange spot on what I like to call my ice cream shirt. My original plan was to wear it each time I ate ice cream, so I wouldn't wear the original ice cream shirt as much. But I like the hot dogs down the street from the ice cream place and they are very messy. I'm all the time dripping chili on myself.
Or I could have worn it one day when I was eating Beefaroni or SpaghettiAtoZ's.

I shouldn't have eaten dessert yesterday. There was coconut cake, though the slice broke and I only ate a third of a slice. Then there was wedding cake. I don't understand why the happy couple didn't eat any of it. it looked like a standard rectangular Happy Birthday cake. But that was enough. I've felt lousy all day.
And I finally figured out why I woke up at 5 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. Persimmon pudding. The woman who made it uses some persimmons from my yard, I think. I like it, but I maybe shouldn't. I also made the discovery over the weekend that regular store brand whole wheat bread is actually cheaper than the extra fiber bread I've been buying on sale. After this morning, maybe I should take a week off.
