Supernatural Season 8 Party Thread!

Inias might be dead--Cas did say the whole garrison protecting Kevin was all gone. I know he wasn't explicitly shown doing that, and he wasn't named by name as dead, but he was a part of that garrison, wasn't he?

By the by: how many garrisons do you think there are? I wonder how many were wiped out and much of an impact that had on the remaining angel population.

Interesting point. We've never been told just how many angel garrisons were "stationed" on earth. One, two....more? And how many are there in an angel garrison?

I don't know how I feel about exploring this since I believe that the angels have run their course on this show. Angels who have "juice" can manipulate humans and their actions and I find that makes what Dean and Sam do superfluous. I would rather see the boys fight evil in a pure human form without heavenly interference.

Just saw a short quote from Robert Singer, executive producer, who said, 'the boys will be united pretty quickly in season 8 but much time will have passed.' I may not have gotten the quote perfect, but it's dang close. So I wonder if this means time passes more quickly in Purgatory than back in the real world or will there just be a long, unseen separation?

The Leviathan must have been able to return to heaven to wipe out the angels because they were originally from heaven. Inias seemed so much nicer than the other angels we have seen, but he might have been killed too. There must have been tens of thousands of angels because Hester said Castiel killed thousands. (I did not get that impression earlier, but will take her word for it.) I don't know how many garrisons there are, but Castiel said the surviving angels went into hiding. I don't think they will be much help because they are scared and the Levis are still on earth.

I know, I know.....you LOVE Castiel. But my point is if there are angels in the storyline, then what do we need Dean and Sam for? We wouldn't need hunters at all if angels could just step in a take out all of the monsters.

Supernatural is supposed to be about two brothers traveling America's highways and byways following urban legends and killing off monsters. I find that a lot more fun and interesting and a vehicle for drama than just a bunch of angels swooping in to save the day.

As much as I enjoyed Castiel's time in the limelight......who would I rather have as the boy's sidekick? Bobby -- hands down!

I can't argue with your logical approach. If only you would whine like some others. I think the Winchesters can help the angels more than the angels help them. The angels went into hiding, but the Winchesters hunted and killed the boss Leviathan. Don't read the posted below.

First, where did this quote come from? A twitter account, a magazine article?

Second, To show the passing of time, I wonder if they won't do something similar to what they did in Adventures in Babysitting--with the 1, 2, and 3 week intervals. Only instead of weeks they do months. And they very well could do longer like 6 months.

The article you guys are talking about is supposed to be from a TV Guide issue from this week (I think).

SoCal, I have a question and I am not trying to start anything I just don't understand the reasoning behind it.
You said in a post above that Dean was more truthful, Dean who almost never talks about his feelings and goes out of his way to avoid talking about how things affect him? We had almost a whole season S7 where Dean was angry and drank all the time, and was just going thru the motions, it was like he just didn't care anymore.
I just didn't see how Dean was truthful this year.

I feel like S7 had so many problems and that Dean and Sam's stories both were so hijacked that neither had a chance of coming out resembling their former selves in seasons past.
Again, I am not wanting to start anything, just a question.
