Big Bird makes more money than Mitt Romney, but is still on the government dole. In the aftermath of getting massacred in last night's debate, both President Obama and the corrupt media are trying to salvage a little something by taking issue with Governor Mitt Romney's promise to end taxpayer funding of PBS. At a campaign rally today, Obama The Bald-Faced Liar said of Romney, "He's going to get rid of regulations on Wall Street, but he'll crack down on Sesame Street." (Romney is not going "to get rid of" Wall Street regulations.) As if that wasn't bad enough, CNN's execrable Carol Costello attempted to pretend the debate would eventually become all about the fallout over taking Big Bird off the taxpayer teat. Naturally, though, the very same corrupt media and failed president currently demanding "specifics" from Romney have absolutely no desire to talk specifics about how much of our grand children's money we're borrowing from China to subsidize television shows, many of them left-wing. Well, here's the price tag per the "Daily Mail": The Corporation for Public Broadcasting receives about $450million from Congress each year. About $280million goes to PBS and the local stations. Federal funding makes up about 12 per cent of the PBS budget. So in the face of trillion dollar annual deficits and an overall debt that will likely hit $20 trillion should Obama the Bald-Faced Liar win reelection, we the taxpayers are tossing away a cool half-billion a year at this junk. Now comes the real numbers -- the numbers the media will never reveal because they’re absolutely infuriating. According to Senator Jim DeMint: Shows like Sesame Street are multi-million dollar enterprises capable of thriving in the private market. According to the 990 tax form all nonprofits are required to file, Sesame Workshop President and CEO Gary Knell received $956,513 -- nearly a million dollars -- in compensation in 2008. And, from 2003 to 2006, "Sesame Street" made more than $211 million from toy and consumer product sales. If you break that down, it works out to over $50 million a year "Sesame Street" is taking in from all that merchandising. Yep, that one-percenter Big Bird makes about four times what Mitt Romney does annually and yet Barack Obama still wants you and I to still carry his freight I guess that's Obama's idea of "economic patriotism."

I've been hearing that liberals don't give as much to charity as conservatives. They want to spend the government's money. I think if they have it they should spend their own. Then maybe we wouldn't need the government as much. Oh, you mean things like space travel to the moon, our interstate highway infrastructure, the Center for Disease Control, The Food and Drug Administration, the National Transportation and Saftey Board, the National Institute for Health, our wildlife sanctuaries, the Small Business Administration, The FBI, Pell grants for students, the CIA,and armies? A system in which corporzations (who are people now) are the final abitrors in all things pubic? We've seen how well that works in American history. Government is a horrible idea. How have we lived so long with it? I never said any of those functions of government were bad. I'm just saying if the liberals who have money all give as much to charities as the conservatives, there might be some things we don't need government as much for. And I do agree with that statement about corporations.

From what I've seen on the internet, FaceBook, and Twitter, here's the guy who won the debate: I think Romney won. I'm not saying I like everything he plans to do. I don't support spending more on the military when we have a debt to pay off and there's no specific threat (provided we can keep from going to war with Iran and Iran doesn't drop a nuclear weapon on Israel). I believe in safety nets and I'm concerned about even voluntary changes in Medicare because of what could happen to those who choose to stay with the current system. I don't see where his solution for health care is going to work. But more than Obama, he sounded like he would get things done.

Like any entitled welfare addict, if you want to hear some squealing from Big Bird, all you have to do is hint that after decades of being on the government dole, maybe it's time to get off the taxpayer teat and take care of yourself. Heaven forbid. After all, it's hard out here for a puppet that takes in a cool $50 million a year off of merchandising alone. QUESTION: Why are taxpayers buried in $16 trillion in debt subsidizing a puppet richer than Mitt Romney? ANSWER: That's racist. Yesterday, however, it was okay to ask that question. Big Bird's creators even assured us they wouldn’t comment on the politics of it all: 'We are a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization,' the message read. 'We do not comment on campaigns, but we’re happy we can all agree that everyone likes Big Bird!' And later they even told us that they don't our steenkin' tax dollars: Sherrie Westin, executive VP and chief marketing officer of the Workshop, told CNN's Soledad O'Brien Thursday. But when they always try to tout out Big Bird, and say we're going to kill Big Bird – that is actually misleading, because Sesame Street will be here." But that was yesterday. A lot's changed since yesterday. Not only did President Obama decide to make Big Bird another one of his campaign wedge issues, but overnight polls tightened considerably in OH, VA, and FL. This means that Big Bird's social workers at PBS got Barack's back today by howling like the spoiled, entitled welfare queens they really are: “Governor Romney does not understand the value the American people place on public broadcasting and the outstanding return on investment the system delivers to our nation,” it said. “Elimination of funding would have virtually no impact on the nation’s debt. Yet the loss to the American public would be devastating. Did you get that -- "Devastating." Evil Romney's killing Big Bird! He's murdering Big Bird! But devastating to who exactly -- a Bird that takes in a cool $50 million a year? Here's the math: Big Bird makes at least $50 million a year and yet our government is still borrowing somewhere around a half Billion dollars of our grandchildren's money from China every year to fund Big Bird's sugar daddy, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Is there some sort of affirmative action program I'm unaware of, where puppets that only make $50 million per year are subsidized by the taxpayers to ensure they make the same "fair share" as, say, the Muppets? And how do the Muppets feel about being discriminated against -- being forced to make it out there without taxpayer help in the big bad free market? Cartoon characters like "The Simpsons" must be wondering why they're not enjoying all that corporate welfare. Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny and American Dad must be furious to see the money they work so hard to make taken by the government and redistributed to loafers like Big Bird to make them "equally wealthy." What a racket.

I personally worked as a general manager for pubic radio for 5 years, and I can tell you that they easily blew out the 20 years I had spent in commercial radio before. All I can say is thank god for public radio. Thank goodness we have public radio and public TV, and a choice where the marketplace forces don't impact communication. Where not just one or two, but all of the sides of a question are explored. We need that now more than ever. And for the folks who think All Thing Considered, Prairie Home Companion, MarketPlace and Fresh Air aren't worth anything, all I can say is you deserve every ounce of tv or radio that keeps you from thinking. Sorry, Jersey Shore has been cancelled. Public radio and public television regularly give you seven sides for a question and leave it to you to make up your mind. But there are folks who see this as distressing. They are the same ones who would wish that you only had one point of view to consider. We've seen the rise of those who seek to turn true journalism into a myopic partisan view of the truth, and thinking people simply don't accept it. Long live pubic radio and public TV. And Big Bird! We are more than big enough to be able to afford them, and anyone who tells you less has a hidden agenda that's more about partisan politics than anything else. I don't know about you, but those pubic radio and television programs are easily the favorite things I pay my taxes for. And for those who don't think they're worthy, it's only a short step from there to the next targets, such as the Nationional Institute of Health, NASA, and the National Institute for the Arts. If you want to live in a country that doesn't value the arts and education, you're not living in the same country as me. Do we really need Ruport Murdoch controlling all we see and and hear? One of Mitt Romney's secret offshore accounts would probably pay for pubic radio and TV for a decade. But this is a guy who admittedly loves to fire people. And of course the elevators for his automobiles. Do you really want Gordon Gecko as your commander in chief, or someone with a heart and mind? I'm not a ditto-head. And, of course, the world is only 3,000 years old.

You know , Moon, you completely destroy your whole argument by ending your comments with..."and of course, the world is only 3,000 years old." Are you calling all conservatives stupid? I haven't heard that theory argued since the Scopes trial in the 1920's. Treat your opponents with a certain amount of dignity and respect and perhaps we'll reciprocate. Until then: Yeah, I'd like a president with brains and the ability to speak without a teleprompter.

It's pretty much the linchpin of Creationist point of view, as proudly espoused by Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, and the Tea Party (except they recently had to up it to 6000 years) in denouncing Darwin's widely-held theory of evolution, which states that the world is about 4 billion years old. Oh, they had to change the name, of course, because it got too much negative blowback. What is actually creationism is now called 'intelligent design' and is also part of an anti-science theocratic agenda. The same folks that seek to do away with Big Bird.

Okay, now I know who and what you are. Evidently, a complete and utter moron. I've never heard a single Tea Party member espouse the claptrap you assign to them. The Tea Party is concerned with the federal government adhering to the constitution and not usurping the powers that rightfully belong to the people. But if it makes you happy thinking that those you disagree with are nothing but a bunch of silly bible thumpers, go ahead. Far be it from me to pull the, not rose-colored glasses, but, blinders from your eyes. It will keep you happy, fiddling in the corner while the grown-ups get on with the business of the country. I think I hear big bird calling you. Big bird.....one of the 1%. Along with Bill Moyers, Andrea Mitchell, Chris Matthews and Jon Stewart. It's so much fun seeing the wealthy entertaining their servants a couple of times a year.

It's so much fun seeing the wealthy entertaining their servants a couple of times a year. Then, listen up. Here's what you get with the Republican party. (It helps if you can spell words like "plutocrat" and "theocracy" but that's probably discouraged as being 'too science-y.') "God's word is true. I've come to understand that. All that stuff I was taught about evolution and embryology and the big bang theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of Hell," said Broun, who is an MD. "It's lies to try to keep me and all the folks who were taught that from understanding that they need a savior." "You see, there are a lot of scientific data that I've found out as a scientist that actually show that this is really a young Earth. I don't believe that the earth's but about 9,000 years old. I believe it was created in six days as we know them. That's what the Bible says." Abortions on women who are not pregnant? And Aiken is on the House Science Committee? Today we found out that an Arkansas Republican thinks "slavery was a blessing for black people." current.com/126f0kc And seen in light of the whole 'who can be the craziest' milieu, it makes this more understandable: As an 8-year old kid said to Mitt Romney in a letter the other day, "you find something else to cut off."

I don't take politcal advice from 8-year olds.
That's the big problem with democrats. They want to govern like 8 year olds. That means we all get to be firemen and ballerinas. Pretty and cute, but not so great for running a country.
Or this.....

While Americans are being slaughtered in Libya, our so-called president is actually worried about the welfare of a man in a yellow bird costume.
Sesame Street Is the 1 Percent
By Katrina Trinko October 9, 2012 5:22 P.M. Comments 14 President Obama, who has railed against the “fat-cat bankers on Wall Street” and the wealthy, has been an eager defender of Big Bird and public broadcasting this week in light of Mitt Romney’s comments that he would defund it in last week’s debate. But it turns out that many of those behind Big Bird are actually members of the 1 percent themselves (anyone with a total income of $343,927 or more as of 2009), based on their salaries.
At Corporation for Public Broadcasting, according to the CPB’s 2011 tax forms:
Patricia De Stacy Harrison, president and CEO $361,895
At PBS, according to 2011 tax forms:
Paula Kerger, president and CEO $669,260
Michael Jones, chief operating officer $477,296
Barbara Landes, chief financial officer, treasurer, and senior vice president $402,355
Katherine Lauderdale, senior vice president and general counsel, $381,855.
At Sesame Workshop, according to 2011 tax forms:
Gary Knell, president and CEO of Sesame Workshop until October 2011, $988,456
H. Melvin Ming, current president and CEO, $584,572
Lewis Bernstein $406,387
Terry Fitzpatrick $439,741
Myung Kang-Huneke $389,005
Sherrie Westin $463,892
Susan Kolar $401,425
Miranda Barry $397,175
Maura Regan $379,733
Joseph Mazzarino $556,165
Caralynn Sandorf $354,476
Anita Stewart $455,369
And while the actor who plays Big Bird (Carroll Spinney) doesn’t have a salary that puts him in the 1 percent, he’s not far off: Spinney makes $314,072.
And who’s funding this? Well, in part, taxpayers: the federal government gave the CPB a grant of $444.1 million in 2012.
This taxpayer doesn't want to support PBS anymore.

The Republican aim is to destroy everything that makes the country worth living in, including public radio and television, even though it makes up 0.012% of the budget. As the most eminent astrophysicist of our time tweeted: Neil deGrasse Tyson ✔@neiltyson Cutting PBS support (0.012% of budget) to help balance the Federal budget is like deleting text files to make room on your 500Gig hard drive. Thursday is coming. Time to release the Biden.

Biden is being kept under lock and key lest he stuff both feet in his mouth before the debate. No one chooses a president based on who won the vice-presidential debate.....or did I miss the Mondale administration? As for your incredibly silly comment about republicans.....well, apparently democrats are only happy if someone else is paying for them to have fun.

Jesus, who let this woman run a campaign? Cutter: Benghazi Is Only an Issue ‘Because of Romney and Ryan’ BY: Washington Free Beacon Staff October 11, 2012 2:43 pm Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter said Thursday that the “entire reason” the terrorist attack at the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi that killed four Americans has “become the political topic it is” is because Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan talk about the attack. STEPHANIE CUTTER: In terms of the politicization of this — you know, we are here at a debate, and I hope we get to talk about the debate — but the entire reason this has become the political topic it is, is because of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. It’s a big part of their stump speech. And it’s reckless and irresponsible what they’re doing. BROOKE BALDWIN: But, Stephanie, this is national security. As we witnessed this revolution last year, we covered it– CUTTER: It is absolutely national security– BALDWIN: –it is absolutely pertinent. People in the American public absolutely have a right to get answers If this is the type of people Barry surrounds himself with, I'm even more terrified of what a second term would look like.

From the Democrats Abroad website at FaceBook: www.facebook.com/DemsAbroad"Standing at the back of a packed high ...school gym as Vice President Biden finished speaking in Ft. Myers, Florida, on Saturday was 15-year-old Kobe Groce. He cradled a “Forward” sign, hoping to get the Vice President to sign it for his brother, Kaelin. After unsuccessfully trying to make it to the front of the event, a staff member asked if he could help. Kobe told his story, and the staffer left for a moment and came back, saying simply: “The Vice President would like to meet you.” “I had this impulse to hug him, so I did. And I cried. I think I even got tears on the Vice President’s suit jacket! … I am hugging the man who will help me and help our President move forward.” —Kobe From me: Dear Mr. Vice President. If we've ever needed you, we need you tonight. All of our hopes, prayers, and love go with you into this arena. As you square off against those who would put corporations and profits above our fellow Americans, know this--we are standing with you, and as you go into this battle you carry our highest ideals. As you have so often, make us proud. We have your back. Now, go out there and take 'em to whup-ass school.

Nice to know we can count on those 1%er millionaire Hollywood supporters of Barry to stick up for our right to free speech:
by Christian Toto 11 Oct 2012, 11:45 AM PDT 283post a comment The Hollywood community has been mostly silent about the anti-Muslim filmmaker whose work the Obama administration blamed on the recent surge of Middle Eastern violence. Bette Midler actually wanted the filmmaker charged with murder for his actions. Few of her peers stood up for the filmmaker and, by extension, an artist's right to free speech no matter how offensive said speech might be.
Now, arguably the biggest name in film, Oscar-winner George Clooney, is weighing in on the subject.
"Freedom of speech means you have to allow idiots to speak, and that’s the unfortunate thing." "This guy clearly wanted to create problems," he continued referring to Nakoula Basseley, the Egyptian immigrant who appears to have masterminded the making of Innocence of Muslims. Clooney added that he saw part of the YouTube video: "It made me mad and I’m not Muslim," he said. "It made me mad for the quality of film that it was, more than anything. But the simple truth is that in order to make [democracy] work, the idiots get to have their say, too. And that’s unfortunate."
Note: Clooney used the word "unfortunate" not once but twice in his answer.
What an asshole. And THAT is who is supporting Barry Obama.
