February 11, 2013 (Burbank, California) ? The CW Network has given early pickups to three of its hit series for next season, including freshman hit ARROW, its top-rated drama THE Vampire Diaries and fan favorite SUPERNATURAL, it was announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW. All three shows will return in Fall 2013.
“We said last year that one of our goals was to establish building blocks to grow on, and now with our new hit ARROW and fan favorite SUPERNATURAL on Wednesday night, and the continued success of THE Vampire Diaries on Thursday, we’ve been able to do that,” said Pedowitz. “Not only do ARROW, SUPERNATURAL, and THE Vampire Diaries perform well on-air, they’re also extremely successful for us both digitally and socially. I’m thrilled to have all three shows returning to our schedule next season.”
One of the true breakout hits of the season, ARROW posted The CW’s best series premiere since 2009 and currently stands as the network’s most watched show (4.3mil). Heading into its fifth season next fall, THE Vampire Diaries remains The CW’s highest rated series in target demographics, including adults 18-34 and women 18-34. THE VAMPIRE DIARIES also continues to be one of the network’s top performing shows digitally and socially; in fact, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES recently topped Trendrr’s list as network TV’s #1 social program for the week of January 21–27
The Winchester brothers of SUPERNATURAL will continue to fight the forces of evil for a ninth season. Since being paired with ARROW on Wednesday this year, SUPERNATURAL has seen a dramatic uptick in its ratings from last season, rising 15% among total viewers, 10% in adults 18-34 and 18% in adults 18-49.

So what does everybody think the new conflict between Sam and Dean is going to be, based on recent spoilers?
From what I understand, the side effects of doing the trials is going to be brutal on Sam. So I think the conflict is going to be Dean eventually finding out just how rough Sam has it and Sam not telling him; and the conflict will continue every time Sam has an attack or episode or symptom because Dean will feel guilty since Sam's the one that wants to live.
I hope that made sense.

That made sense, Waggy. But I haven't seen any spoilers so I don't have an opinion.
Regarding spoilers, someone said the last episode for spoiled for her because one of the bloggers revealed that Sam would be the one doing the trials. Speculation is good, but bloggers should not give all the details like they have done this season.

Doctor? Doctor Who? Aeryn!!! *glomps on* Production for me has slowed down a bit; my current layouts are done and all that's left at the moment is to write episode summaries for a pilot series first season. Since I don't really know all the characters, its a bit of a challenge to get in the producer/creator headspace so I can come up with effective (but not spoilery!) summaries. So I'm sort of at loose ends the past few days, and naturally had to come here to find out what everyone's discussing these days. How you been doing, girlfriend? Get into any interesting trouble lately?

Yes, we have to wait a few more weeks until Supernatural's return. For now, here's nice episode description to add to your anxiety. Synopsis courtesy of the CW: SAM, DEAN, CASTIEL AND MEG TEAM UP AGAINST CROWLEY AND HIS DEMONS — Castiel (Misha Collins) reappears in Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean’s (Jensen Ackles) life and tells them Crowley (guest star Mark Sheppard) has unleashed several demons into a small town. The demons are looking for Lucifer’s Crypt, which holds a valuable asset, but Castiel lies to Sam and Dean about what it is. While interrogating a demon, the three discover Crowley has been torturing Meg (guest star Rachel Miner), who knows the exact location of the crypt. Sam and Meg fight to hold Crowley off while Dean and Castiel go in search of the crypt. Thomas J. Wright directed the episode written by Robbie Thompson (#817). --------------------------- I don't know about you, but this sounds promising.

Looks like they are increasing the body count and corrupting my favorite angel. They certainly love to torture Meg.

Episode 8.21 will see the introduction of a new character. This character will appear in episodes 8.21/8.22 and 8.23 and has the possibility for more appearances in Season 9.
His name is "Metatron" and is an aged angel, the scribe of God and has been around before the time of Adam and Eve. He is described as a cross between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Virgil Kent/Keyser Söze.

I was surprised to see Meg blonde.
I know the original Meg was a blonde, but ever since Rachel Miner took over the role, Meg's had dark hair. So it's just odd to see R.M. as a blonde.
I haven't seen Rachel M. in a lot of stuff, but the few things I have, she's had dark hair.

I liked how Dean and Krissy interacted. Wonder how much that will be changed now that she's, what, 2 years older, and her father's dead.

Hello , I know this really isn't the place to put this bit of information, but I don't know where else it would be a good fit for it, so i chose to put it here, if this is incorrect feel free to move it or whatever you need to do with it. 2 years ago my brother gave me a subscription to the SPN magazine, I received one every other month and did until about Oct 2012. I hadn't received one since then until today when i received it. I also received a letter stating that it would be the final copy of the magazine and that is was ceasing publication immediately. I personally don't think it is a reflection on SPN only on the publisher itself. The letter said if I wanted to I could transfer my sub. to another magazine, but since I don't watch any of those shows, I won't be doing that. Just thought I would pass along the message.

The best thing about this preview clip? Someone trimmed Jared's sideburns! You're welcome. I've been dreaming of trimming them for a long time.
I watched the clip several times and I hope the episode entertains me as much as the clip does. Castiel has an obvious "tell" when he is lying, he uses a specific tone when Dean annoys him, and he can hear the boys because he is a celestial being. When Castiel said crypts, I thought Dean was going to say something about gang members.

This episode looks to be one emotional roller coaster.
I for one will be happy to see Naomi get what's coming to her.
I think maybe I would care more for that storyline if we could see a little more of it, for now it is starting to remind me of the Amelia storyline, boring.
