And when he couldn't participate then I enjoyed watching his brother not do everything right. or did he? I just don't remember. And when he had to be a customer I liked how they handled it. I really liked both those parts too. I remember his brother had trouble trying to slide something off of a large spatula into an oven and almost burned himself. I thought the rectangular potato slices were funny also because they did not look like something that would be served in that restaurant.

Yes, I saw it and it was very good. 7.06 Gerber Group (1-22-16)
I thought it would be about the baby food company, but it was about bars. Scott Gerber, the boss, had a fantastic make-over and it looked natural. I mention that because some of the stylists make the hair look stupid. The yellowish teeth were a nice touch because I bet all of the bosses have perfect teeth. He was very smart to have his brother and another guy stand in for him at places he would be recognized. Some other bosses have had their cover blown. Episode details:Kara was the first server he worked with and she was very nice to him although she could tell that he was not doing a good job of carrying the drinks (martinis) or knowing how to chat with the customers. He gave her $30,000 to help herself and her mother. She paid off her student loans and bought a brand new car. ----- Casey remarked “Hopefully, we will have some mountain men come in today that can relate to him.” She explained to the boss that popular drinks are different for the north and the south, but Corporate insists that the drinks be consistent. On a personal note, she said her mom’s male picker is a little off and she was not comfortable around him so she moved out of the house at age 17. She never explained what a “picker” is. She loves her niece, but I got the impression that “picker” soured her on men and she did not plan to have any children of her own. The boss agreed to let the bartenders propose special drinks for different areas. He gave Casey $50,000. She paid off her debts and started a college fund for her niece. ---------- Nick, the sous chef, was impressive. He had a great attitude and did not mind working 80 hours per week. Rather than talk at length about not having creative freedom, he talked about the suggestion he made that was accepted. He was able to be positive in spite of suffering from depression and an emotionally abusive father. Scott’s brother, Jay, did an excellent job as the “contestant”. He asked the right questions in a casual manner that did not raise suspicion at all. Nick was promoted to executive chef at a brand new restaurant and was given a $25,000 signing bonus. They said he was ready in record time to showcase his skills on opening day. --------- Kia: Scott must have felt really guilty about Kia, the bartender, not being able to attend the funeral because he gave her a $201 tip and she remarked “He just made my day.” She said the company was homier when Scott’s father was alive because he visited the bars frequently. He gave her $20,000 and promoted her to manager. I saw it too when it aired. I read some comments on Twitter and people felt there was too much difference in the amount of money he gave because the long-time employee received the least amount. I have often wondered how they come up with the amounts. I understand it is possible to calculate how much it would take to pay off some debt or to have surgery, but most of the time, it just seems arbitrary. What do you think?

Marco’s Pizza (1-29-16)
Bryon Stephens pretended to be “Jay”. He did pretty well at three locations but his first stop was almost a failure. Employee Tom had him stack flour and boxes that needed to be hauled into the stores. The stacks were too heavy for Jay and he kept complaining and refused to push one stack down the ramp. I thought Tom was going to be real hard on him, but instead he coached and encouraged him. “Jay” was slow when he had to make pizzas, but Tyler kept encouraging him. Devin taught “Jay” how to roll dough and then stretch it to fit the pizza pans. “Jay” looked good doing that. Howard took the boss on a delivery run. The boss was a little nervous, but he did okay. All of the employees were excellent and had positive attitudes. The boss followed some of the suggestions like investing in advertising and gave the following gifts: Tom was given $25,000 cash, $20,000 for a vacation plus $5,000 for each child’s college fund. Tom paid his debts and is planning a cruise.
Tyler (21 years old) was given $5,000 incentive, $15,000 for AMA coaching and was offered a $400,000 value store when he finishes training. He is a motivated young man and he should be ready within a year.
Devin was given $40,000 for college and $15,000 discretionary funds. The boss promoted her to a marketing role so she will make enough money to quit the other job. She is attending UNC Charlotte.
Howard was given $15,000 for housing, $20,000 for education and a brand new car. He moved his parents into a new apartment and returned to school to study criminal justice. It sounds like he bailed on the boss.

I wouldn't have said this if it had been me receiving it, but that was one ugly car. I watched "Grease Live!" last night. Now that's when cars looked good.
I wonder how many people noticed the skyline where Devin worked. Almost no one has ever heard of Huntersville, North Carolina and I would suspect they realized a town not any more well known couldn't have had that skyline. That was in fact Charlotte, which is several miles away. And when she said she was in school I suspected it was UNC Charlotte, which is where I went. Given my ability to deal with computers and even taxes and such, this isn't high praise. However, the school does have a good reputation in the area of business even if I didn't seem to learn anything.
I could actually drive to Devin's restaurant but I don't like pizza. Also, I have no real incentive to drive that far. UNC Charlotte is far enough.
I was expecting Tom to say "Jay" doesn't deserve the prize because he's a quitter.

Thanks. That is hilarious. The black lady who was training him reminded me of "Crazy Eyes" on "Orange Is The New Black".

The TV listings, both in the newspaper and on my TiVo, said this would be on. ironically, I used to tape this from a different affiliate but don't know why I chose that one. And if I still did, I would have taped it. But the Charlotte station had a Panthers special. Since this show was listed as airing, naturally there was no broadcast at another time. had I watched when it was actually on, I would have known what was going on in time to watch at least some of it. But I wait until it's over so I can skip commercials which mean it will take less time to watch.

7.08 “4 Wheel Parts” (2-5-16) Wheel Parts CEO Greg Adler must mount massive tires on a Jeep while he is undercover.
The episode was good and had some emotional moments. The lady had more upper body strength than the boss and was able to handle the tires more easily. Rolling tires up a ladder would become easier after more practice.
We have seen so many bosses go undercover to do physical labor, but they do not get in shape first. If they did pushups and treadmill exercises for one month, their body would adjust better when they went into the field.
I liked the way the boss and his brother were able to mend their relationship.

They do this with a lot of shows. I finally saw the episode. I decided it was better not to assume there would be a rerun, and with "Saving Hope" not available, I went ahead and watched online. I did like the way he resolved the issues with his brother, and how well his brother handled himself without having to be directed to do everything. I liked seeing the Charlotte skyline again, from a different angle. I can never be absolutely certain when I see the Duke Energy tower, but it is distinctive. The older skyscrapers, though, are what I should have looked at to know where that was.

I would never eat there. Of course, it's probably expensive too (for me), judging from the amount of money the one girl was losing. But the atmosphere isn't what I would want.
We like the good employees, but let's face it. The bad ones are more fun. I enjoyed watching her squirm at the end, and ultimately, even though her superiors gave her a chance, it didn't work out.
The bartender seems to have left, which is a shame.
I can't believe the gorgeous woman was really a man. Of course, she'd still have to use the men's in North Carolina.
This was a fun episode with the commentary coming from the RV.

This was a fun episode with the commentary coming from the RV. I agree with everything you said. Also, I learned that "Drag" came from the Shakespearean days and was a term for male actors who played female roles and it stood for "Dressed As Girl". I am used to the bad employees being brazen about their actions, but Tristen lied during the final interview. She said she does not usually act that way, but after the boss walked out, I heard her say to a table of customers something similar to “Have you decided what you want? You should, you’ve been here a long-ass time.” I was extremely surprised the gorgeous woman was a man. She even has legs like a woman. She was pleasant to work with even though she was not impressed with the boss’ dance skills at first. Melissa, the bartender, was an excellent employee and I did not hear her fuss at the boss at all even though he did not prepare the drink properly. It is a shame she has not had a raise in 7 years. I believe Kenny’s story happens to a lot of people. When the parents or sometimes the church finds out they are gay, they get kicked out. I do think if their parents loved them, they would give them some money to start life on their own. Kenny had $40…that is scary. I liked the fact that he kept the fortune from the cookie “Good news is coming your way.” He is an optimist. This is another episode where I think the difference in the gifts was unfair. Jayla/Kenny was getting a better trailer and was invited to dance at a premiere performance. The $10,000 cash was very generous. Kenny was given $5,000 and a car. Although it was nice to give Melissa a trip and $2,000, the fact that she had not had a raise in 7 years should have been addressed. I have a theory on why the other two employees received more. Gay ladies I have been friends with have said that gay men despise them and make them feel unwelcome in clubs. The ladies do not know each other, but they all said the same thing. I think it was bias that caused the bosses to not give her more. I do not blame her for leaving since it did not seem like she was ever going to get a raise. They did not say anything about her planning a trip.

I saw a map of where this chain's locations were. It appeared one was in Charlotte, which would make sense. It's the largest city in both Carolinas. However, the most gay-friendly city is Asheville. They make a point of being the San Francisco of the East. That would be another good location. One thing that the people supporting this idea tend to forget, though. Asheville is sort of like West Berlin. Billy Graham and his son Franklin are just outside Asheville and people's attitudes are much more like theirs in most of the area.

I only noticed that they got less than employees on other episodes. I don't think the girl in "Mike and Molly" was gay, because after all, she got pregnant. But when Molly tried to reunite her with her parents, the girl basically got disowned and preached at again. "Nashville" I am sure about. See the Free Speech thread.

7.10 United Real Estate Group (5-20-16)
CEO Dan Duffy goes under cover as a real estate agent, land appraisal specialist, interior decorator and auctioneer.

Duffy was fun to watch as Simon. He was intentionally acting silly and some of the trainers seemed baffled.
My favorite job was when he was the auctioneer because he made me laugh a lot. The senior auctioneer recognized him but did not blow his cover until they took a break. The boss contributed $50,000 to help them promote the value of auctioneering to realtors. Logan and Mark worked with Duffy’s team and are ready “to spread the word company-wide as United’s “auction ambassadors”.
The boss was saying a lot of things that a real estate agent should not mention to a prospective client and Kellie was cringing. To help Kellie care for her daughter who has special needs, the boss will set her up with a financial advisor and will contribute $100,000 to start a fund. Then they will link crowdsourcing for her to their website to help it grow to $500,000. The company will pay for a getaway trip to Costa Rica.
He was energetic when he was cutting brush. Most of the bosses cannot do the physically challenging tasks, but he did not mind. He was excited like a child when he saw the drone. He offered Travis a $30,000 value internship to learn how to grow the number of listings. He also offered him a romantic trip for two to Costa Rica, but since he does not have a girlfriend, Travis needs to find a date.
Brenda was a good coach when she taught the boss how to stage a room. He was a quick study because he really did a nice job decorating the bedroom. He asked her to star in a series of videos about staging and will pay her $10,000. He also gave her $25,000 for travel so she can visit her son and to help pay for medical treatments
