Incidentally, the cable went out when the man who is now Command said once you are Command, you are always Command. Now how Olivia's father got around that I don't know. I'm probably misquoting but it sounds like they would have had to kill him. Then again, we have a former pope who is living for the first time in hundreds of years.

Yeah, the "always Command" statement grabbed my attention too. Then I rationalized that the only reason Mr. Pope was still alive is due to Olivia sleeping with the President. Otherwise, Mr. Pope would have been assassinated.
I am wondering how Maya got the drop on her ex-husband. He should have been too wary to let her shoot him. Since we did not see how it happened, I wonder if she had an accomplice sneak up on Mr. Pope.
We know Cyrus is unscrupulous, but he showed how vicious he can be when he smirked and decided to not alert the V.P. about the bomb.

New (April 17, 2014)
The candidates fight to gain votes on Election Day; Olivia considers Maya's motives.
The network keeps warning us to watch this episode live or we will regret it. So I plan to watch it at 10 PM.

We needed a scorecard to keep up with what was going on and practically anything I say would be a spoiler, so... There were murders; secrets were revealed; families reunited; friendships ended; and surprising liaisons. They left the fate of Harrison unclear. I was curious about that so I searched the web for some info and learned that the actor who plays Harrison(Columbus Short) is in some legal trouble from (1) a bar fight in March and (2) threatening the life of his wife who wants a divorce. Maybe if those charges are cleared, he will return. If not, we will probably learn he did not survive.

Wow. I mean wow. How could they just kill the President's son like that?
That was a beautiful church so I hope they used CGI for the explosion. It's easy enough these days. Apparently Cyrus got word to them in time, but how could he risk people's lives like that? This is not "The 100".
So Olivia's father is Command again. I was surprised the President had a role in that because I thought no one had authority over B-613.
I'm still one episode behind.

And I saw the rest (edit: to be clear, I mean the rest of one episode from the night the cable went out). It wasn't easy. I had to keep backing up. Fortunately even online video will let you do that. It took longer than it would have taken if I could have just seen it on my TiVo. And it took two tries because the commercials started over when they were supposed to have been through and I didn't have time because I was going to the dentist. Anytime you try to skip over a commercial break, even going backwards, they make you watch commercials.
At the library where I normally watch video, this episode was available on Hulu despite what the Google search said. Maybe that was possible only after a week had passed.

There has been no clear information on how someone becomes head of B 613. If the President does not appoint the head and the military does not control them, then who makes that decision? It is unclear.

I still don't know whether I'm finished watching. I have five episodes in my TiVo but they may all be episodes where I wanted to check something I missed. It seems pointless after so much time has passed because I'll never remember what I missed. But it was always so late doing that meant going to bed even later.
These days even on the newer TiVo I just get up and back up before the episode is over. With the older one I hold the remote but I was used to just sitting and watching live in the other room.

I had to go online for this, and ABC's web site that doesn't work at my usual library might still have it.
I discovered a day late that the special "Scandal" episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" was on last Thursday. It was really worth seeing, mainly for the Spanish-language spoof that included some of the show's cast members.

Command won an Emmy for his role.
I finally had the time to watch the missing episode. For some reason there aren't many movies on lately and although it would be good to do more catching up on newspapers in that situation, the weekend is an exception.
It was the one where Huck made it possible to delete B 613. Command's replacement warned Olivia's team that by doing that they killed the President.
Somehow it was an episode that stood on its own and missing it did not cause me to be lost.

I probably have to watch tonight. I tried to extend the time and got yelled at.
On a TiVo that means a tone which would happen anyway (edit: that's actually if I am setting the TiVo to record a show, not when I am extending the time), but when it yells at me I'm warned about the shows that will be deleted early or, in really bad cases, WON'T RECORD. And it is in all capitals.

I think "smellie Mellie" is entertaining too. The first lady is beautiful even when she is disheveled while wearing booties, sweatpants and a robe. I did think it was weird of her to stretch out on her son's grave. This show is heating up. Olivia is distraught about what is happening to Jake and she is unsure what to believe. I think Jake is being framed for all of the current accusations. Fitz and Mellie have had two major arguments in the oval office. I would hate to be the Marine stationed outside the door and have to listen to those arguments. They have to act as if they heard nothing and that cannot be easy. Fitz is jealous and when a powerful man is in a rage, I expect to see major fall-out. I think Jake is handling the interrogation the best way he can because admitting treason will do him no good. I hope Olivia can help him, but I do not know how because the people she would ask for help all want him dead. Poor Huck. He has tried so hard to protect his family and it continues to bring him misery. David Rosen is a good guy and he still has a conscience. I am not sure he belongs in the White House inner circle because they are all corrupt.

An Innocent Man
Olivia was tricked by a convict and that is unusual for her. Maybe if she had not been distracted by her personal life, she would have noticed.
I feel sorry for Jake because Mr. Pope is a master manipulator and Jake will probably never get anywhere near a court trial. Fitz is holding on to “hope” – hope that there is still a chance for him with Olivia. That is the kind of love odes are written about. Now daddy is angry with his not so little girl.
I wondered why Huck was so happy while playing the video game. Well done.
Cyrus has truly messed up now. I cannot feel sorry for Cyrus even though I really liked his husband and don’t think it was fair that his life was put in jeopardy. The upside is that the people who set Cyrus up probably have no idea how dangerous he is.
I have never liked Abby, but I give her points for speaking up.

I was enjoying watching the First Lady suffer, so I decided to watch two episodes in one night. This means I now have the same number of "Scandal" episodes as "Reign" episodes. Now I didn't enjoy it when the First Lady broke down after the speech, but I did get rewarded with her obsession with solving a murder case. It was such a letdown for her when it was solved by someone else. I know that feeling.
These have been really good episodes and I'm almost tempted now to bump "The Goldbergs" in my Top 10 list. It'll never happen because this show does get so violent.

4.07 Baby Made a Mess - Unable to believe Jake is guilty, Olivia seeks out Tom for more information; Huck plays with fire.
This episode was hot! Telephone sex made Olivia warm.
Abby’s rich and abusive ex-husband was an unpleasant surprise. He came to the White House because the President was backing him to run for the Senate. Abby fell apart and called Olivia. We saw Olivia weave her magic spell as she vowed to do whatever it took to keep the abuser from winning. That became the case of the week.
Olivia remained determined to find out the truth about Jake and she knew in her heart that Jake could not do what he was accused of doing. She had a confrontation with her father after she visited Tom at Super-Max and he laid down the “law according to Command Pope”. In retaliation, Olivia handled the issue with Tom the way her father would have. It worked and she took the information to Fitz.
Cyrus still thinks his boy toy is honest with him. That will not end well.
The only time Huck looks happy is when he is playing on-line video games with his son. His son thinks he is playing another boy and they were supposed to meet after school. Huck showed up but just watched the boy without approaching him. The boy apparently has Huck's skills because he tracked the IP address and approached Huck.

4.08 The Last Supper - When Cyrus' exploits catch up with him, Elizabeth's plan turns out to be bigger than anticipated.
This episode might be one of the most exciting of the season. Everyone is playing dangerous games, including Mellie. Mellie is back and has resumed making public announcements that have not been approved by Fitz. She heard Fitz talking to Olivia on the phone and she is angry so she will probably not care how Fitz reacts.
I am concerned about how Cyrus ended the unexpected home visit by the escort. Did he hurt him before he learned the man did not betray him?
I thought Olivia was the toughest kid on the block, but I am now convinced that her father is truly Command. None of them is a match for him and she has turned her father against her. Maybe Jake and Huck should team up to fight Command.

4.08 The Last Supper - When Cyrus' exploits catch up with him, Elizabeth's plan turns out to be bigger than anticipated.
I enjoyed this exciting episode. “The Last Supper” is a reference to Olivia and her father. She did not show up for their weekly dinner and he called to assure her that no argument should keep family apart. Meanwhile, Olivia was scheming with Fitz and Jake to decide how to capture her loving father. I think she is being shortsighted because her father has always protected her. Did she think she could antagonize billionaires, politicians and criminals all those years and get away with it on her own? Her father was always watching and protecting her. The case of the week was the Republican Party Chair asked Olivia to determine who was bugging her phone. I was amused when Elizabeth said she knows Olivia does not like her and paused, then said that was the part where Olivia was supposed to say she did not dislike her. Olivia agreed that she did not like her. Cyrus was bugging the phone and asked Olivia to help him find out if his lover gave Elizabeth incriminating information. Cyrus looked devastated when Olivia told him his lover liked him and did not give Elizabeth damaging information. I think he did something horrible to Mike. Huck was enjoying the time spent with his son and then disaster hit. The boy is probably traumatized and his mother is going to have a conniption fit.
