I think they wanted The Big Bang Theory fans to stay tuned and watch it. That worked for me and I enjoyed the premiere. James (Jimmy) Olsen is played by the wide receiver who starred in Necessary Roughness. I really like him.

Wow. This is one of the best shows on TV. And she is so cute. And so perky when she saved that plane. Different from the other superhero shows. And funnier.
She takes off her glasses the way George Reeves did.
Uh-oh. We are going to have supervillains. And while she handled herself well, she was in real danger. Oh goody. All the prisoners from The Phantom Zone. And it was her mother who put them there. And her aunt is the head villain.
I liked the first outfit she wore, but it is true that wouldn't do for saving people.
Imagine. James Olsen confident and good-looking.
I like the guy Kara is trusting with her secret.
I even like Alex and she looks like she'll be interesting.
I was disappointed that Dean Cain, the Superman that got me interested in the character again, was on screen for five seconds and didn't even say anything. I thought this was going to be more about her early life and we were going to see her train. But the way they decided to do it, having her learn as an adult, is fantastic even if we never see that part of her life except maybe through flashbacks. And I'm counting on those.

I checked for Dean Cain and wound up watching the whole episode. Of course I recognize Cain, but I did not really look at the people who were adopting her. That was nice.
It was funny when Kara left to join the car chase and plowed into the dirt-packed restraining wall.
I was disappointed when she was captured half hour into the episode, but that turned out okay. I thought Agent Danvers was just jealous of Kara, but she really does want to protect her.
I think it is an excellent plot point to have James Olsen be the liaison between the Man of Steel and Supergirl because it would be strange if they seemed to ignore each other.
I wonder if we will grow to like Cat. I do like her explanation for using "girl".
When I listened carefully, I realized that although they were in a Krypton prison, they might not all be Kryptonians.

I hope it is good too, but I have so many viewing conflicts on Monday that I will watch it tomorrow. Next week, I will watch Supergirl and just let the other shows record.

Ever since I have been reading and watching series about Superman, we have asked why people do not recognize him as Clark Kent. I think James gave a good explanation - people do not really “see” him and Cat does not really see Kara.
I guess it makes sense that Kara would make mistakes in the beginning, but I would prefer that the mistakes be humorous rather than disastrous. Good idea to have James and Winn alert her about smaller things she could do to help. The media quickly stopped criticizing her.
Kara has her own “fortress of solitude” inside the DOE headquarters. She will be able to get information about the villains.
Kara gave Cat a thrill ride along with the interview.
I wonder who Hank Henshaw is now that we have seen his red eyes.
