This was a good episode and I like the subtle appearances of Superman. It does make sense that Supergirl has to struggle to become good at what she does, but she still fights like a girl. Would someone please tell me why she always stands still and let the villains shoot her with whatever they want and knock her around. She could try dodging the lasers or whatever. I am not usually keen on the interracial attraction, but I like James Olsen too much to be bothered by it. I like everyone on the show so far and I know I will eventually root for Cat. The on-line chat was a nice ending, although it indicated we will not see Superman coming to the rescue again.

I guess I haven't seen it since I was here last.
I read a post and didn't remember any of those things happening.
Then I realized I haven't seen this week's yet.

Now we know there are not just Kryptonians and other aliens but also metahumans. And that guy sounded like Ed Asner, but he wasn't in the credits. I still enjoyed it. Lucy looks like she could be mixed-race. I like having Wikipedia at home. The truth is she's Middle Eastern, but that doesn't necessarily mean her character is.

I think it is interesting that James spent the holiday weekend with Lucy, but called Kara and said he was bored. He obviously wants a closer relationship with Kara, but maybe he thinks it would be inappropriate because Superman asked him to be her guardian. It is obvious to everyone that Kara is attracted to him, so I think he must also be aware of it.

1.05 Livewire (11-16-15)
Kara’s foster mother visits for Thanksgiving; an accident transforms a CatCo employee into Livewire.
Supergirl no longer fights like a girl. She threw some power punches to take down a huge alien that had escaped from the DEO prison.
We learned more about Kara’s foster family and why there is tension between Eliza and her daughter, Alex. The foster father died while working for the DEO and Eliza believes there is something suspicious about his death. Kara and Alex will investigate.
Leslie Willis, a shock jock radio reporter was really harsh in her description of Supergirl. I laughed at the way Winn and James reacted to the “chastity belt of steel” and “Sapphic” comments. Cat was angry about the negative report and wound up demoting the reporter.
Uh oh, not again! Another mishap when Supergirl tried to rescue the reporter during a storm and electricity traveled from her body to the reporter. Willis became Livewire and blamed Cat for what happened to her. She was determined to get revenge but Supergirl protected Cat.
Although I expected to warm up to Cat, which I have, the heart-to-heart chat between Cat and Kara was unexpected.
I was amused when Cat called Agent Monroe “Agent Mulder”.

Did you notice the end credits? The DC Comics logo features a comic-book image of Supergirl. The Warner Bros shield is colored red and blue; it is also set against the sky and a red cape brushes by it.

So Cat has a heart. That was surprising.
I didn't care for Live Wire's "music" or her negative comments about Supergirl. I know how Kara could be sexy--that first costume.
I was sorry Dean's character died but it was great to see him and I especially liked how he called himself an expert on Superman.
I like the flashbacks and hope to see more of them. Seeing Kara learn her powers was what I was expecting but we get the adult Kara in the main plot.
I can't stand too-perfect James but Winn seems to be this show's version of Jimmy. And I really like him.

1.04 How Does She Do It? (11/23/15)
This one was shown out of sequence because of the murders in Paris.
Supergirl was excellent. She showed her strength and speed and she also demonstrated she was smart. She cleverly sealed the cracks in the building with her laser vision while she held up the foundation. She saved the city from a bomber and she talked a suicide bomber into allowing a train full of people to escape his bomb. The downside was the mastermind did all of that damage just to test Supergirl and find her weakness. He seems to hate her for no apparent reason.
Winn and Kara’s attempt to babysit Cat’s son was entertaining. Cat might have fired Kara except she noticed the happy change in her son. He seemed a little like the boy on Scorpion – shy but brilliant.
When Supergirl was injured and saw Henshaw’s red eyes, she must have thought it was her imagination because she did not mention it to Alex.
They seem to have resolved the likelihood of James and Kara becoming a couple. I agree they have made James too perfect. I like Winn and maybe Kara will realize he would make a nice boyfriend.

I expected Cat's son to recognize Kara as Supergirl because children notice things but adults see what they expect to see. I would like to see him in another episode.

I recorded it with an antenna and saved it.
I'm giving priority to the shows I recorded from cable. I did lose a bunch of "Jeopardy" episodes but it was frustrating making sure i had seen each episode of every tournament. But I'm sure I did. Anyway, the decision to delete them was made for me.

Last week's episode taped on the TiVo which is connected to an antenna. I'll watch it next week, but for now I need to give priority to what is on the TiVo that is connected to cable which also is new enough that I know it will work. And on that TiVo, the episode disappeared before I realized it needed saving.
There was an exclamation point on the TiVo with the antenna, so I was lucky not enough shows recorded to make it go away. I saved it, meaning the circle is now green. A lot of the shows that did record had lines across them at times and even no sound, but it does appear this episode recorded fine.

Red Faced (11-30-15) Kara goes too far during a training exercise against a military cyborg commissioned by Lucy Lane's father; Cat's judgmental mother visits; Alex asks Winn to investigate her father's death.

Some secrets were revealed and Alex is now even more suspicious that her boss is hiding something.
The military obtained authorization from the President to force Supergirl to fight a red tornado robot. I felt like telling them to get off of her back after she damaged the robot. It is obvious the military wanted the robot to hurt Supergirl because she is an alien.
This episode was about anger issues and Supergirl was told by several people she needed to identify and deal with what was really bothering her. I liked the scene where Kara and James worked on their issues.
Cat's mother was awful and I do not know why Cat would ever want to have dinner with her.
I do not like Alex and Kara asking Winn to jeopardize his job and freedom by hacking the DEO even though he learned Henshaw was on assignment with and was the last person to see their father alive. I suspect their father learned Henshaw was an alien.
