Combining action and drama with ride-or-die friendship and humor, LETHAL WEAPON reimagines the hit movie franchise, as it follows classic cop duo Riggs and Murtaugh, who work a crime-ridden beat in modern-day Los Angeles. Grief-stricken after the loss of his young wife and unborn child, ex-Navy SEAL-turned-detective MARTIN RIGGS (Clayne Crawford, “Rectify”) moves to California to “start over” at the LAPD. He’s paired up with ROGER MURTAUGH (Emmy Award nominee Damon Wayans, “My Wife and Kids,” “In Living Color”), who’s just coming back to the job after a near-fatal heart attack. Riggs’ penchant for diving headfirst into the line of fire immediately clashes with Murtaugh’s prudent, by-the-book technique. When CAPTAIN BROOKS AVERY (Kevin Rahm, “Mad Men”) assigns them their first case together, Riggs drags Murtaugh into a high-speed chase culminating inside the Long Beach Grand Prix and a seaport shootout with drug dealers – and despite his protests, the older cop feels more alive than he has in years. Meanwhile, Riggs gets a glimpse of why Murtaugh is so determined to get home safely at the end of each day – he’s got a wife, TRISH (Keesha Sharp, “The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story”), teenagers ROGER, JR. (Dante Brown, “Mr. Robinson”) and RIANA (newcomer Chandler Kinney) and a newborn baby. Riggs’ life-on-the-edge attitude makes him a priority case for the department’s psychologist, DR. MAUREEN “MO” CAHILL (Jordana Brewster, “Furious 7”). Rounding out the precinct is SCORSESE (Johnathan Fernandez, “Girls,” “Younger”), a pathologist with the LAPD who got his nickname after a stint in film school, which no one will let him forget. By the time their first investigation ends, Riggs realizes he may have found something worth living for – a partner and friend, Murtaugh. And even Murtaugh figures this arrangement might just work out after all. If only Riggs doesn’t get them killed first…

Although Riggs' story is sad, his chemistry with Murtaugh is excellent and they made me laugh throughout the episode. Riggs' death wish confused the criminals and I can understand that. They had to think there was a trick involved, but he was serious.
I enjoyed the scenes that included Murtaugh, his wife, and Riggs. She is very welcoming to Riggs and he really has no family or friends nearby so he needs that.
The pizza delivery and the Grand Prix scenes were great. Adding this show to my favorites list.

I wish we hadn't been given such a blunt introduction to why Riggs is the way he is. He is a good detective, though.
I like it enough to keep watching but it's no "Rush Hour".
I do like the kids. And I knew Murtaugh's hot wife looked familiar but didn't know her name until I saw it here. She was the gorgeous bubblehead on the "Are We There Yet?" TV series. Ice Cube was the uncle, not the father like in the movies.

The first 15 minutes of "Surf & Turf" are hilarious. Riggs: Why didn't you take the shot? Murtaugh: Because he's driving a propane truck. How far can he get in the middle of Hollywood? *Boom* Riggs: About two blocks.

Riggs did a nice Matt Damon/Jason Bourne stunt when he saved the lady and it looked great. But the Captain thinks Riggs is crazy.
Captain saw fireworks where there should be none.
Capt. Avery: Would someone tell me where Riggs and Murtaugh are.

I enjoy the emotional moments as much as I enjoy the humorous ones. Riggs shows so much anguish when he is reminded of the loss of his family that I feel the pain with him.
This episode was as good as the pilot.

It was another good episode. Riggs continues to impress when he's not acting crazy. I did like that the episode starred with bikinis. I didn't realize that was Riggs and would not want to see him naked. I was amazed they were able to jump into another building. That was funny, especially since the family didn't appear to speak English. And that hotel where the witness was, with its distinctive sign on top, I saw in a movie. I'd like to see more of Trish doing her job because it appears she would be good at it.

Oh yes, the amount of money kept increasing and in the scene you mentioned, Riggs (I think it was Riggs) told the family to bill the Captain because he would not mind in that instance.

Lethal Weapon was fun to watch. I think it is funny the way Riggs makes himself comfortable at Murtaugh’s house. While Murtaugh was showering, Riggs cooked. He opened a jar of mustard and casually dunked the meat in the jar, put the meat in his mouth, and then repeated the process several more times. My goodness!
The marijuana trade is a lucrative cash business. I learned something from the show; the Federal banks will not insure the money like they do for other bank accounts. They said the sellers have to pay state taxes, but they did not say they had to pay federal taxes.
The guys did not cause a lot of damage this week, but they took a big chance when they drove the truck containing the money. Riggs is corrupting Murtaugh and talked him into letting his former training officer escape.
Murtaugh and his wife finally had some time alone and that was nice.

The episode had ups and downs, but was very good.
The expenditures are going up again after that car chase.
The fight scene in the shower was hilarious. The black hulk was difficult to take down and the Taser needed a stronger charge for him. After Riggs’ uncomfortable struggle with the guy, it is the first time I have heard “it” called a “situation”.
I think Riggs threw the book at the suspect: two counts of attempted murder on police, assault and battery, destruction of property, and two dozen counts of burglary.
Riggs was amusing after he made a diving tackle on a suspect. He said, “El Paso High, Strong Safety."
The barbershop scene at the end was very funny. I wonder what Riggs' hair will look like.

Lethal Weapon was fantastic! I enjoyed every moment of it. The writers are doing a great job combining action and emotion in a way that blends very well. I was thrilled by their great action sequences. It was so much fun that I am going to watch again. This show needs to move up on my favorite shows list.

I'm three episodes behind. And as a test, I taped it on the TiVo that is hooked up to an antenna. The beginning looked fine, so I should be all right. "Fresh Off the Boat" was constantly being interrupted by the signal going out, so I had to watch it on the newest TiVo. That's supposed to be the channel I never have trouble with. When I finally get around to watching the episode, I don't know. The newest TiVo has to be the priority.
