@kyelel Thanks for the info.
The UK drama “follows the escapades of American maverick adventurer and treasure hunter Hooten, played by Michael Landes (CSI, Love Soup), and a British historical expert, Lady Alexandra, portrayed by Ophelia Lovibond (Elementary).” Jane Seymour, Jessica Hynes, and Shaun Parkes also star.
***
It is a comedy-drama and I usually find those to be entertaining.

I do too, but I got used to the idea of reading newspapers. There's still time if I change my mind.

I gave in. As much time as I need to spend on newspapers, I added yet another show.

I just added this series. I changed my settings from record "First Run" to "All" because the dates show up as "originally aired on ____".

How do you like the 1st episode?

I was amazed yesterday when I looked at a local newspaper's TV section. It seems that one of the movies that is now available on DVD or however they are being distributed now is about the man our heroes were trying to find out about, and that Lost City of Z they found.
I liked it enough to keep watching. I especially enjoyed that spectacular fall. They listed the stunt people in the credits, which is rare for a TV series.
I can't say I like either of the main characters. But I did laugh, and I did get worried when back home the people thought they were missing.

I watched the episode "Amazon" that aired last night. It took a while for me to adjust to the way they were talking so fast, but then I started to really enjoy it.
I like both Hooten and Lady Alex. It was very funny when Hooten told her there was a snake above her head - a huge snake - and she thought he was trying to trick her. I thought she would turn around and scream, but she just ignored him and started walking. It was also funny when Hooten teased her about damaging the corpse.
I was caught off guard by the cocktail scene.
I will continue watching.

I am lost, how many episodes have they shown here? They have shown two episodes. The first one, "Amazon", I already talked about. The second one, "Rome," was aired on July 18. I am watching that one now. Some of the dates are listed on the cast thread for this show. I previously posted the link.

This episode(Rome) was so much fun to watch. A nun asked Hooten to locate a book In Rome. She called Hooten “Ulysses”.
When Hooten dropped in on Alex and her mother at their hotel, Alex was very excited about the book, but she did not believe Hooten was locating it for a nun.
Hooten connected the name “Simoni” to Michaelangelo. He said he learned about Michaelangelos’s history while reading an annotated copy of the Sistine Chapel while undergoing a root canal in a dentist’s office.
After leaving the Chapel, they went to Temple Maximus. While in the catacombs under the Temple, they found the book, and a huge alligator found them.
It was quite an adventure that included the mafia, a kidnapping, hostages, false accusations to Polizia, stolen police bike, being shot, falling into the river, blessed gold rings from the Pope, and being slapped.
To me, the funniest moment was when Hooten was being mugged on the plane. He grabbed what he thought was a parachute and jumped out 10,000 feet up. The “parachute” was a backpack that contained the captains lunch. Hooten looked so happy at first and was having a good time air gliding…oops!.
Because of her expertise, I think it was odd that Alex did not make any provision for the safe handling of the book, not even gloves.

Because of her expertise, I think it was odd that Alex did not make any provision for the safe handling of the book, not even gloves. Now I remember why I thought I might watch. Jane Seymour was on this week. She still looks good. And her character dressed so elegantly. I didn't realize Michelangelo's last name was Simoni. I just looked it up. The name I thought was his last name came before Simoni. They made fun of Wikipedia, which I guess has become the information source that compares with Google for news. With all its faults, it is a site I can go to at home without risk. I avoided nearly all ears and still do avoid most sites. I wouldn't ave pictured Hooten being a man of faith. This episode reminded me of "Sleepy Hollow" but without the supernatural monsters. Hooten was lucky when he bailed out of the plane. If that hadn't been a lake, he wouldn't have made it.

It just went off and it was entertaining. The undercover cop who seduced Hooten had a recurring guest star role on “Blindspot”. She was so tough on that show she could have handled ten of those soldiers without any help.
Poor Alex seems to always trust the wrong people. This time, it was the government official.
Hooten is a fun-loving guy and he is totally outrageous. He stole an important medallion, then stole a jeep- which he sold for cash. He took the cash to gamble with and lost. It was a fun evening for him, until the Lady interrupted his tryst. Of course, he did even more outrageous stuff, but the funniest is he set Alex up to be approached by the female cop for a date. Alex will be very confused.
